Here are some images of the PCB inside the Galaxy Nexus Dock (Model EDD-D1F2BE)
Maybe someone finds them useful.
Note:
U9 is on the backside of the PCB
U6 on the backside connects the pogo-pins
U10 is an 8bit microcontroller whose inscription can't be read entirely.
According to the manufacturer's website it's one of three models.
CON3 on the parts-side of the PCB is not connected to anything.

N7105 info and advice before and after purchase

Hi all, I need to buy with short supply only vodafone phone (20 € per month advance +49 = 649 €) the samsung galaxy note II LTE.
I would like some clarification before taking it so as not to throw money.
The price of 649 € is an adequate price for the Notes 2 lte?
It 'so much the difference between note II and S4 ? given the recent output and lower price with the current offer (S4 to advance 15 per month +99 = 549 €) say it is a mistake to take the notes II?
I would like to know if the note is easily rootabile on the stock rom, so without changing anything? Invalidates the warranty? there is a way to restore warranty?
However, there is a way to solve the hard brick (also a fee, do it yourself or jtag), or you may end up with a paperweight?
If anyone has had experience, how does the samsung pay to repair a hard brick without warranty?
Simply rooting the device there is a risk of brick it? You continue to receive updates even with root?
Sorry for the many questions, I would not create trouble but the price is quite high and it is a commitment for 30 months, I would like to know more to not regret it soon after.
Thanks in advance
- Worried of SDS/brick bug = S4
-Rooting = same.
-Features = note 2 ( spen beat S4 new features without doubt.
- Custom Rom of choices=S4
- Battery lasting performance= note2
- Camera= S4,
- Vibrant and vivid of screen = S4
- Larger screen= note2
- Hardware performance = S4
Summary: I love my note2 than any other phone. My next phone only will be Note 3. Not s4 , s5 or s6 and more....overall Note2 nothing to loose over S4.

[Q] Pro 8.4 vs S 8.4. Worth the price difference?

I'm looking to buy 8.4 inch tablet. From what I read, both are very good tablet. The difference of price here is about 70 AUD.
I don't really care about AMOLED vs LCD- both are fine.
I'll most probably run it on custom ROM. Tab Pro already has official CM support and established community. I'm not sure about Tab S, it's is too early to tell at this stage. I also notice Tab S is slightly thinner and lighter. Tab S runs on 3GB ram compared to 2GB of Tab Pro.
Probably you guys can give an opinion whether the price difference is worth it. Is there any other factor that makes one better than the other?
You have pretty much listed the differences, so it's just a matter of if you wish to save the $70.
Fingerprint scanner, thinner, lighter, AMOLED screen, extra Gb of Ram are the main differences.
If you plan to consume media, like watch TV/Movies/YouTube etc than the AMOLED screen is likely better for battery life, but if you mainly surf the web, than the LCD screen uses less battery.
As for CM11, the Tab Pro is only supported on the 4G Qualcomm Snapdragon version, technically the Exynos 5 Wifi version isn't supported officially.
The Tab S is currently getting a user made Exynos 5 version of CM11.
Good luck with you decision.

Which one can I make phone calls from the tablet itself? I know I will need the 4G version. But I heard a rumor that one of these you can use as an actual cell phone without sidesync
both got LTE version and can make call... how do i know? i owned both.

I wonder if both have 1x antenna since United states (where I am) uses 1x to make voice calls. This is good info I will do more research.

Do you know how can I tell the difference (before I buy) between those two version? Do they have different version code? All I know is the one officially supported is the WiFi version
Does the Tab S 8.4 suffer from the same wifi singal issue as the Pro 8.4? If you hold the bottom left of tablet in portrait mode or bottom right in landscape mode, wifi signal drops down very low and may even disconnect.
I just got a Tab Pro 8.4 and it does this, there is a thread in that forum where many others have the same exact issues. If Tab S solves this problem that along may make it worth it.

I had the pro 8.4 for a short while and I can confirm that the tab s 8.4 does not suffer with the same wifi problem. They have relocated the wifi antennae to a different part of the tab s.

to me its simple. if i were a person that gets a new tablet every 6 months to 1 year then i get the whatever but if i am a person that is closer to 2+ years then i get the best i can afford at the time.

The thing is, no device absolutely best another
More expensive doesn't always mean better
I was leaning to Tab S but I'm reconsidering my decision upon hearing that Tab Pro 8.4 might get better dev support due to Qualcomm SOC.
Can anyone who have tried both device or @edan1979 give your opinion whether Tab S really feels better at hand? (smaller dimension & lighter). I cannot give Tab Pro 8.4 a try because it is not available on my local store (samsung decide not to sell it here).
Only LTE version of tab pro has the qualcomm SOC.

i agree and that is why i said "best i can afford" not most expensive.
i own the 10.1 Pro and 10.5 S because i bought the Pro when it came out and then m,ade the mistake of playing around with the Tab S. not surfe about the 8.4 but the overall feel, smoothness of OS, (big one here) USB port on side and not bottom, and 3GB ram made it a no brainer to move up to S and glad i did. so with 10.1 to 10.5 i dont regret the extra cash at all.

as for the support and my own development... yeah i love tab pro... lots of dev for it... in term of that device in general... it worth the money pay... it dont have that much different from tab s... and tab s... well this one... i got LTE exynos version but the screen blow me up since i miss my good old superamoled 7.7. sooner or later someone will take challenge to port cm or whatever to it... since i am more tw person so i dont really care... but tab s do feel better at hand... and i mostly bringing tab s with me.

Considering an MTCD/E/P/H ? Consider all options.

Having recently purchased FYT type / 7862 - my experience here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/teyes-cc3.4189041/post-85649157
Consider a Mekede/Navifly (FYT = 1 or FYT = 116)
I just brought two, having come from MTCD (JY and HA).
The Mekede/NAVIFLY (YIN) blows the MTCD PX5 I had out of the water
- Audio / True multiband EQ and DSP
- Screen quality/size
- Firmware quality
- Resume from power on consistency
- No MCU anomalies (such as loss of backing camera, or sudden loss of steering wheel controls)
- Factory Options built in that MTCD requires mods for (Adaptive volume, Backing lines configuration, and more)
- Bluetooth audio quality including calls
- OBD OBDLink LX paired instantly without fuss
- Ease of modifying / rooting / updating / recovering
- Competitive pricing
Above anything else, the audio quality is significantly better to my ears.
Note, I am NOT recommending the FYT reseller Teyes to those outside of Russia.
My opinion is a strong avoid (reseller) Teyes. Do not buy.
Update 3/10
Some additional experience;
Less buggy, fantastic audio, 4G built in, 5Ghz wifi, working BT, significantly snappier and doesn't require all of these mods and hacks (e.g. OBD) to just make things work.
Bonus is that If you want to mod/apply simple system changes, that can be done without root.
System / kernel updates without major refresh, no problem.

Hi,
I have been following some of your posts as I am very interested in buying a Joying unit using the UIS7862. I would like to use adaptive volume, is this functionality provided in the factory settings of every UIS7862 MCU or is it manufacturer specific? I am specifically asking for JY / Joying
Interesting. Both the Mekede and Navifly official stores have below average ratings while T'Eyes has above average. I've seen what you've said elsewhere about bugs and software lock in but I'd like to understand how this plays out in practice e.g. do either support loading of apps like vanced, how easy is it to mod the look of the interface (everything seems to be very purple these days and my wife hates purple ), is either platform hackable to support private cloud?
