I've been around the Evo forums for a few months and I've never seen any evidence that you can dual boot with anything. It's easier to get Android on a Windows device than it is to put Windows on an Android device.
I suggest you look through the development section of these forums, if you can't find what you're looking for there, then I don't think it exists anywhere.

In the general android development forum, there is a thread about someone working on dual booting. Its still TBA at this point.

Hi guys,
Since a few days i have a Samsung H1, which runs on LiMo.
So far i didnt find a forum (except for vodafone's own forum) for this phone or its OS.
My previous phone was a Touch Diamond, and i found this forum very very useful. So thats why im asking this question here, because this is the biggest and best forum, as far as i know, when it comes to mobile phones.
Will there be any subforum for LiMo? or the Samsung H1? Because its Linux based, so that means many options/customizing right?
Thanks,
Ingmar
//edit
I found a LiMo forum: http://www.limo-os.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6
No Sorry, as the admins have stated in the past, this site is for HTC devices only.
dave
Ok thats a pitty... I noticed its almost all HTC over here, but since there is also a subforum for the SE Experia i kind of hoped for a subforum for the H1 aswell.
Thanks

The X1 is actually made by HTC, so it has a HTC bootloader, that can be patched for Hard SPL, SIM unlocks, Sec unlocks, etc.
There is one forum for a non HTC device (one of the smaller forums, I can't recall) that was added in error years ago, and it would be unfair to remove it now.
Dave
Hmm, why doesnt it surprise me
Ok, i hope i will find another forum someday.
Thanks anyway!
you could try howardforums or modaco
both of which have active samsung subforums.
Thanks for the tip!
Did you find any usefull information somewhere already?
Can't seem to find anything that could help in hacking the Samsung H1... would be a great device to have android on...
Nope, i didnt find much usefull info...
vodafone has the appstar competition: http://widget.developer.vodafone.com/appstar
But it seems like it will take time before we can do anything useful with the H1...
I wish i could put android on this phone, that would be GREAT :-D
I would love to help out in creating an android Rom for this phone
but I have NO clue in how to get access to the files on the phone... since it's linux, it just has to be possible to boot another linux distro (android ) once you get full root access to the device
For the people who are interested in this topic. I found a LiMo forum
http://www.limo-os.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6
Grtz
i was checking out that forum too.
Seems nothing till now
i got H1 as well .
If you get any new please tell me to check it out
many thanks

hay all, first off Iam a little tech sav. but definatly not as good as most of you pros on here. . This being said Iam looking for an easy walk through to load an Android os with the gen y duel boot I currenly have, of course if there is a better duel boot I dont mind using it, really I am just looking for a walk through that is easy to use and Iam starting to loose my mind looking through all these posts. Back ground on my device is, US Cellular HTC TP2 windows 6.5 pro, thanks a bunch for pointing my in the best direction, I know that someone on here will know the best place to go for all the info I will need to get the best / correct OS / ROM.
Read the first few posts... we don't support gen.y, you'll have to get support from them in that thread.

The HTC HD2 can now dual boot android and windows phone 7. I know that the hardware of the two phones are near-identical. Would it be possible to port WP7 to the Evo as well? If so, is anyone doing so?
btw: Don't flame, this is a specifically development related question; I only want your input if you have something relevant to say.

ha, you can put meego, ubuntu, winmo 6.5, win7, and android 2.3(?) on it...its ridiculous lol
you are in the wrong section, yes you want a developers input but you are asking a question about a WM phone in an Android rom section......
now think whats going to happen........
Despite his subject line, his question is about the Evo... however, I think the Q&A section would be a better place for this thread.
This has been asked about 5 or so times in this section(dev, but looks like its been moved).. unfortunately .... and has been trolled into oblivion.
please search before littering.. Im not trying to put you down.. but putting WINMO7 on the EVO is like asking to put a lawn mower engine in a Ferrari.. why hinder the performance.
and even mentioning WINMO here is blasphemous .. Just saying..
Sorry to bump an old thread, but with the leaked Sprint 'Gold' (HTC 7 Pro) WP7 ROM on the net and the HD2 working pretty well, are we any closer to a possible EVO WP7?

No...
1) No one has said they are working on it.
2) I'm sure XDA would not allow it on the site due to Microsoft license (before you ask, it isn't license for our phone. Like swype can only be included in roms that it comes stock in)
Well I knew nobody was working on it, I was just curious about the possibility. I figured the licensing would be a touchy issue, but I honestly wasn't sure where exactly XDA stood in that regard considering the HD2 seems to have full support. Just curious, really.

why? we all came from winmo devices. all android is, is a better version of that, same principle and fanbase. sorry but i had to say it.
Does anybody see this happening on the EVO... Dual boot WP7 and Android?

I realize this is related to development, but this CLEARLY belongs in Q&A, not here.
WTF.. this was just asked this morning, as it was many other times.. if you want WP7 then go buy and HD2.. Android is far superior to WP7..

We understand you love your Evo, we get it. To the OP, I read that this morning and told my friend to put it on his HD2. That phone is getting all the love.
Delete please

I have a chance to get one of these HD2 phones. Im an Inc. owner so I don't know much about the HD2. Is this newer than the Incredible, better? I googled but they look pretty much the same except the screen and different radios.. I really want a smartphone for my son to learn to make custom roms. Is this a good one to learn on? My other option is to give him my DInc and keep the HD2 for my own.
Just looking for some input, Thanks alot guys

Dude, this is the dev section. You need to use Q&A forum.
