Well... may not. If you updgraded the bootloader (i.e. didn't use fixed SBF) and your 'stock' version is Eclair you may have a little problem. If you didn't, just follow the FAQ, question 7

Use a custom ROM that updates it in the system partition. On stock there's no choice.

thats no use ive tried everything, pushing it to /system/, dosent work, tryna cook it in my rom didnt work, so i gave up and just put up with the 8mb+ it takes up on my data partiton lol
i even tried writing an update script to flash it from recovery but i need to learn how to write them better, i can get the script to delete files but it always fails on the install bit lol
Just copying the file to the system won't work, that's why you need to use a ROM that updates it properly if you don't want to use data space.

If you uninstall your market update to flash and install the mod for my ROM, it MAY work on yours. I can't guarantee that obviously.

Use the system flash option - not the data one, that one will remove your system installed version.

Go back from Gingerbread to Froyo

Just flash Froyo ROM over it or ? I am pretty sure that was a specific file from TMartin or even Virus but don't know where is it.

Just wipe and flash like you'd normally flash. There are no special steps required to revert back to froyo from gingerbread.
The special files you're asking about were simply zips that did the wiping for you. Just do the normal wipes and you'll be fine.
Thanks....

Recently added ginger ale 3.0 on my DROID x.not happy at all does anybody know how I get back to original factory. Or where I can get the file.also since the update usb has stopped working.

Atomic GB on Arc S?

I have an Arc S with ICS, since I upgraded to ICS the telephone are incredible slow
I realy want to use this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2083286
But I have never use roms/flash a phone before and thinking about follow those:
Unlocked booter
1. Flash Stock .62 / .42
2. Root and install CWM
3. Download the rom and your device patch from downloads and put them in SD Card
4. Boot into recovery
5. Wipe Data/factory reset
6. Go to advanced-Wipe Dalvik Cache and go back
7. Go to Mounts and Storage-Format /System and go back
8. Flash the rom and device patch and wifi modules
9. Reboot and enjoy the Dual Core Xperia Arc and Arc S
But here are a few questions:
1. What means Stock. 62/ 42?
2. Where can I download CWM?

1. Stock. 62/ 42 means sony's latest offical Gb android 2.3 firmware
2. You can use x-parts CWM installer

Flash custom kernel

Ok, does it mean that I need to have 62/42 on my phone, because I have ICS(official) on my phone for the moment.
Are there any people here who have tried this rom lately? Seems to be very stable, or are there any other rom that are even more stable?
Also the member on this forum, XtremeSilencer. Who made this app is banned, why? Is it something with the app?

62/42 means you have to have original firmware with build number 4.0.2.A.0.42 or 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Are you going to unlock your bootloader?
Because if you had done it already you dont need to flash first the stock GB .62/.42, and the atomic rom itself (or a kernel) installs automatically the CWM.
If you dont want to unlock it, then yes, the instructions you paste are the ones you must follow.
_______________
If i recall correctly he was banned because of his attitude, kinda arrogant.
And, dont know if its "official" but there is a 8.0 version in the last pages.

I used this rom for quite a while and i was very content with it. Fastest rom i've tried so far, stable (almost no crashes or things like that) and everything is working fine (like hdmi or notification led).
He got banned because he created a 2nd account here on xda which is not allowed. He also disrespected other rules but there's nothing wrong with the rom itself.

Haha lol, no
Don't unlock your bootloader if you have no idea how to do it.
You will find steps 5-7 in cwm recovery. Please inform yourself about how to flash a rom (root, boot to cwm etc.), otherwise you will screw things up eventually.

Are there any good and "very easy" guide out there?
So, maybe I should try another rom.
Which rom with locked bootloader based on Gingerbread is the most stablized?
The things I do with my phone is web-browsning, talk and taking pictures. No gaming...

Don't ask. Comparing ROM is forbidden on XDA. Try the ROM out yourself and see which one suits you best. If you continue to ask for "the most stabilized ROM", I will call for a mod to close this thread.

From personal experience..
Only flashing an older boot-loader if coming from the more recent one, that will brick your device..
Dont quote me on that.. But im pretty sure thats the case

Sounds about right..
There a a few roms that I'd like to try for my T999L, but I wont mess with my bootloader..
I dont want anything to do with Knox. Even though you can install a 4.3 rom with out it..
The Bootloader still contains remnants of Knox..
Miui v5, looks like a 4.2 rom.
I dont see a problem.. Make a Nandroid first.. Then do a factory wipe, and give it a try..
if it doesnt work.. you can always go back..

I've tried to flash it and i keep getting assert failed error. I looked at the built prop in the log on TWRP and it list all the bootloaders but MK4. So i'm assuming its because of the bootloader it won't let me flash. Even though it says d2tmolte is supported

Just to be sure.. Id check to see if you have the most recent version of TWRP installed..

I doubt its the phone...
Im a semi novice on this phone.. I fare better with Nexus devices..
Im sure your just missing a step.. If your phone is working put it off, and wait until someone with more experience might be able to help..
If your getting an Error 7, that is likely due to the Update Script which TWRP looks at before any kind of flash, its mainly to protect people from flashing the wrong things on their devices.. Its saved my ass a couple of times..
Find the original thread for that Rom..
and post your question there..

No. Just flash miui with a custom recovery and you should be good. In the future please do not ask similar questions in different threads

Cannot flash recovery.

Well, since few days i had issue that sometimes i couldnt enter recovery. Now im on stock and i cant flash it. In the moment when stock recovery should change with CWM i just get blackscreen :/
Which one do you use? Try this from attachment.
Thats kinda hard to flash it cuz i cannot enter even stock recovery. Should i take Ace for warranty?
Well, you could empty your SD except for that one file and count clicks...
But if you can downgrade to 2.x, try to do that and then back to 4.x first, that's a mostly 100% reflash of your phone... In fact kernel and bootloaders (SBL/"Normal", mem_init, power_management) are all that's required for recovery AFAIK, but the very issue of LCD problems in recovery means there's probably more...
