One of my G2 phones is missing the accelerometer and the compass. I think it's a software problem because when I run sensor list, it shows the sensors...just no data and no movement. It's as if I'm missing the drivers or a calibration file, or something is corrupt. I'm having a hard time believing it's a hardware issue because these things are practically bulletproof.
Here's what I have tried so far...
Rooted the phone and installed a couple of custom Roms
Installed a Nandroid backup from another G2
Unrooted the phone
Installed the new 2.13.531.8 Gingerbread with new kernel and radio (this actually fixed the keyboard light that had the same problem due to a missing light sensor).
Can anyone figure out how to check to see if I have all the drivers and associated calibration files?
If I am missing them or they are corrupt...how do I reinstall
Thanks
I think I may have a clue to this
When it was flashing the updates...it bypassed both of the TP .img files. Looking at the file structure, it looks like the TP .img files are the only files that have never been updated...ever
So...how can I force it to flash these files...I think that will solve this problem

I posted earlier in the month about issues with the camera app on the Hermes as I've cooked a WM6.5.3 build 28205, having tried again I got the camera working, seemingly by copying the rgu out of the stock WM6 ROM for the Hermes, I now have an issue where the device gets to a stage where it refuses to install apps, or files mysteriously get partially overwritten and cannot run, and the device will not reboot without a hard reset. I'm not sure if the registry entries in the rgu I copied are to blame or there is another issue that I'm missing, also, the camera, despite working as it should, does not display any text in it's dialogues, again, not sure why that is, and I've not been able to find solutions to any problems like this with google or on the forums here but I am looking to get this resolved soon as I wanted to cook a rom suited to my needs, with only the things I wanted in it, yet I stumble on this issue, if it's of any help I used superjustkitchen to cook it with
Thanks in advance and my apologies if this is the wrong part of the forum to post this

sorry wrong post

which cy rom? I had issues with one crashing all the time (cy stuff was freezing the system up) so maybe a diff distro like fresh froyo or I am using Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo.
Also something that helps is clearing the download folder on your sd card. I know in froyo those files have been my bane. The stupid market has download resuming now, but it looks like it doesn't do well restarting the write of the file on the system (which is why you usually don't to this unless you are a master).
The problem I'm having is now that I have Leedroid 3.3.3 installed on my Desire HD my phones camera will no longer auto-focus.
Before you ask have you made sure the auot-focus is selected in the phones camera menu yes I have.
The things I have done to rectify this are:
I've made sure I have the right Radio & Kernal for the Rom I'm Using
I've downgraded my Leedroid Rom to previous versions but nothing works
I've asked for help and left bug reports on leedroids mini site and no help
I've tried to install the Madaco 17/Nov 1.32.405.6 r1 - HTC Desire HD Stock ROM with Online Kitchen but I can't boot past the HTC screen even performing a factory reset, battery stat rest, and a dalvik wipe still no luck.
I'm not sure if Leedroids new Roms uses a different EXT format like "EXT4" where stock Roms use "EXT2" and this is why I cant get MOdacos stock rom to boot and therefore I need to wipe a EXT2 to my phone? I wouldn't know how to do that anyway.
I've done google and xda searches for how to get the auto focus to work again and all I come up with is I should go back to stock and see if this helps. Unfortunately I can't get a stock Rom to boot properly so I'm left with asking for help here.
If I'm in the wrong forum or posted in the wrong place I do apologize I believed since I'm on a Desire HD this is the most appropriate place.
Hi!
Did you solve it?
I have the same problem, the camera don't make the focus, don't know why.
thanks!!
Any solution in sight?
I have similar problem on my classic Desire (Bravo).
Autofocus fails on far away objects, everything closer than ~1m is ok, anything else I recognize some focus action in the live image but it stops on the blurry side
Using InsertCoin 1.1.1 with the latest Radio.
Seitchin ROM to an older LeeDroid didn't help)
No luck yet I'm afraid I'm in the process of backing up my phone and trying different roms to see if that helps.
I'll post here if I come up with a solution.
Solution
So I called HTC here in the UK and was told the phone needs to go back which I sent to them but before you do there are two important things to remember.
1) s-off needs to be turned to s-on
2) you need to send the phone back with the latest os version
I got my phone back and the lovely guys at the service centre even replaced the entire shell, battery cover and sim cover for free how nice.
I'm going to guess it was a hardware issue rather than a software issue because the phones software came back exactly as I sent it with t-mobiles splash screen with no sound because the sound files were never on my phone to start with.
I tried everything before sending it back updating, different roms going back to stock rom etc etc but the only thing that worked in the end was HTC fixing it.
Luckily the phone was still under warranty and the shipping and repair was free phew!
Good Luck
[Q] "Udpated" my XPlay without flashing boot.img and all went to sh*t. Any clues?
So I had this custom ROM based on a CyanogenMod 9 (I think, cannot be sure, It was a Jelly Bean ROM) working awfully on my phone, even "Trebuchet font" was force closing. Can't remember the name, so if any of you knows how I can guess, like from some registred data on my SD card or something, I'd be a great help.
Well, I tried factory resetting and It didn't fix anything, so I tried to "update" my phone with the internal function built in the Cyanogen Roms to the Stock Cyanogenmod 9.
And from then, the phone is working even more like **** (literally the screen is sliced in half and going like left to right continously), to the point that I can't flash any rom because the Flashtool doesn't recognize my phone (debug mode and unknown sources activated) anymore in any of the 3 computers I tried. I feel like I'm in a dead end.
I don't hava any backups, so the only thing I think it can fix my phone is flashing the same ROM that worked like **** but less like **** as the one I have know, and from there flashing another ROM properly.
Any way to find my old ROM? Another way to fix my phone?
Functionality of flash mode/fastboot is not related to installed ROM, unless you damage bootloader. You're doing something wrong, or just did not installed needed drivers.
Hey guys like the title says my camera flash and flashlight aren't working and i've even installed fulmics rom with a clean flash and still nothing...I also just had the sim tray replaced is it possible they messed up my rear flash? or is there something i can do
anyone?
They are l.e.d.s and can burn out even prematurly. Even with little to no use it is possible only other way would be to restore stock tot method just make good backup after u reroot just retore twrp. It might be a fkernal type issue of coarse localized to your device but things happen. Due to sprint ii no longer have a g3 bastards or i could tell u off hand if its replaceable or a hole mother board.
