Best 2.2 sense rom? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Your pick? Not that we have a lot of choices to choose from.

i'd go for Virtuous 1.02

Definitely go Virtuous and you should also put one of the virtuous kernels on it too so your battery life lasts longer.

[Q] What ROM and kernel combo best for battery life?

So just rooted my Dinc and trying out some roms. The most important thing for me is battery life and then stability. I wanted to know some if your ROM/kernel combos that have given the longest battery life. Thanks.
Each phone n processor are different in stability so basically youre better off finding out for yourself...personally been using redemptive rom with ziggys kernel and love it.

I've had my best life with Virtuous (been with it since early 2.0) and I've used King's BFS kernels. Now I'm running Ziggy's BFS and lasting even longer.
And to what the guy above me said, each phone is different in the sense that only some can overclock to 1.19 while others can't (I for example can't). Other than that, each phone is pretty much the same.
It seems like the stock Cyanogen ROM and kernel has better battery life than Virtuous with King's BFS #5. I just don't see how King's BFS #5 is that good.
I'm going to try the stock Virtuous kernel later in a somewhat controlled environment to see if there's a major battery difference.

[Q] What is the Fastest ROM for DHDP?

Hello guys,
I´ve just questions. Can anyone tell me, what is the fastest ROM for the DHD
and what is the fastest ROM with the best battery life.
Thank you <3
the best rom is cm7 but its very bland to look at. the nicest rom is rcmixhd gingersense. battery life is best on leedroid or cm7. overall id say grab rcmixhd. but if u wanna try out stock android, check cm7
Thank u, for the reply <3
CM7 is certainly my favourite. Clean, quick and just plain Google beauty.
I tried a few roms till now
1. Revolution HD 4.0 (performance issues)
2. Coredroid 4.5 (a bit tooo fancy for my taste)
3. CyanogenMod 7 (pretty bald compared with sense but good battery life)
4. RCMixHD 5.9.5 (Great Rom smooth, stock sense, rather good battery life)
As always a battery wipe helps out the battery life after flashing a few roms.
I´d pick RCMixHD best ratio of design/battery(but thats my taste everyone thinks different)
I only tried
Android Revolution 3.5 with sense
CM 7 stable
Now i am testing cm 7 stable with updated kernel:
[KERNEL][23 APR]LorDMod V4.3|SMARTASS|BFSv400|CFS|SLQB|UV|1.9VOL|VDD|SQ LITE3|.38
and BFQ 4.2 and PUV reuploaded. (see the thread in developement)
With PUV i have a huge battery improvement compared to AR 3.5. But it may not work on every Desire HD. Core is at 122/1078 Powersave.

For my taste CoreDroid HD GB 2.3.3 V5.4 all the way... fast, stable, good battery, no bugs at all......
I'm using MIUI 1.4.22 Rey's Custom Rom v12. Very fast with awesome batt life. Best of the 3 roms I've used (Revolution, CM7 and std HTC Sense 2.1).
Batt life with aid of Juice Defender is consistently around 24 hours with moderate use.
Highly recommended with ADW Launcher. Must be Rey's Custom Rom tho.. def worth checking out! I've never looked back.

I've been on Revolution HD, CM7 stable, and RCMiX HD.
Won't make any comments about Revolution..
CM7 stable is stock android experience; for me, battery life was better than RCMix. However, CM7 starts getting buggy for me after a week or two of use. Sense ROMs do not have this issue.
Speedwise, they're all about the same if you remove all the junk from Sense ROMs
If you check the Themes subforum there's a flashable zip for that!

[Q] Next ROM to flash? Leedroid Froyo to what?

Hey everyone, I'm at a crossroads in terms of what ROM I want to flash next. I've had Leedroid's Froyo ROM for well over 9 months and I've been very satisfied with it. Now that the final version has been released for a little while, I've been itching to try some Gingerbread roms, but I have no idea which to choose.
My main concern is stability and battery life. Does a Sense ROM really tax the battery life moreso than an Oxygen or CM7 type of rom? I do like some of the Sense feature (like the dialer). Do Sense 2.1/3.0 roms (ie Insertcoin) eat up even more battery life?
Another concern of mine is flashing a new hboot for S-OFF. Seems like many new roms require this. I'm guessing that the risks are fairly low of anything going horribly wrong, right?
So with all that in mind, I was thinking between these 4:
-Leedroid Gingerbread V3.0.X
-CM7
-Oxygen
-Insertcoin
Just looking for some general opinions and recommendations on any of these ROMs. Thanks!
Hi, ive flashed all 4 of those ROMs at one time or another so ill try to give a overview of what I think.
I stuck with CM7 for quite a while, and really liked it. if you want a ROM with fairly good battery life, and lots of customization options, then go wth that. Oxygen seems to me like it is a lot like CM7 but there a much less options to customize and change.
I didnt have leedroid for that long but after looking over the page again, it seems like a slightly cut down version of InsertCoin. InsertCoin has certain sense 3.0 features in it, where as leedroid doesnt (I think). I personally stick wth InsertCoin, as it has an easy A2SD system, and the WiFi range seems vastly better on it than any other ROM ive tried!
So, in conclusion
CM7 - Nice, stable, fast gingerbread with lots of customisation options.
Oxygen - Slightly cut down version, fast, with less customization.
LeeDroid - Fast, Stable, Clean, Sense/Gingerbread.
InsertCoin - Slightly more bulky, but really nice looking sense/gingerbread mix, with Sense 2.0/3.0/2.1 features
Just my opinion, hope it helps
If Sense and battery are the two main concerns, then try Leedroid GB. Obviously, Insertcoin and all these Sense 3 stuff are eating more battery than Sense 2.1. I used it for a month or two, it's not that bad.
If you can drop Sense, then of course Oxygen or CM7. Or, you can try Redux as well, it is very similar to Oxygen (see my signature).
But the best way is to find out yourself: flash IC, use it for a week and you will see.
Cheers!

Thanks for the very helpful reply! I was leaning on Insertcoin, just to see what all the fuss was about with Sense 2.1/3.0 was all about. Leedroid currently uses Sense 1.0 in his Gingerbread rom in case you were wondering.
I have zero plans this weekend, which means I have all the time in the world to try out some ROMs
I'm running CM7.. its a fast and stable ROM with good customization options and no s-off required plus I'm getting much better battery life than I was with my stock 2.2 froyo ROM

Wooooohoooo, finally got a thanks anyway, have fun flashing im running InsertCoin myself, loving the sexy Sense 3.0 stuffs anyway, enjoy, oh and pleasure

[Q]what is the best Rom for battery life from recent Roms

what is are the best roms for battery life and speed. I have found that CM7 with Tiamat sbc can get me up to 12-16hrs and the new Salvage Mod Sense gets me almost the same amount of life. I don't have a preference as far as AOSP or Sense just want good battery life....
Kings are great.
can't remember if Kings were ACS or MikG.
I think they are MikG. I am using Kinged Shooter and getting around 15 hrs with moderate use.

Battery Saving Sense 3.0/3.5??

Hey,
i have used a sense 3.5 rom for a while, and noticed it had a very bad battery drain on my desire and it gets hot very fast.
some people on web mean, they had a very good battery drain with sense 3.5.
therefore i wanted to ask if there is a sense 3.5 or 3.0 rom with a good battery drain.
mfg metin
Best room for you
try AceSMod007-3D v28 Rom
Thy, I will try it at home
Any other 3.5 roms?
I have been following the RSK Teams rom, sadly it's been discontinued.
The new Runny ROM is modded from the RSK rom, looks like with DZ #18 kernel, the battery life is much much better.
The sense 3.5 rom i have used was runnymede, and it had a very bad Batterie drain
Try different kernels guys. The rom itself is not that power hungry. Droidzone kernels are my recommendation.
Ok thy, i will try them with different kernels

I am downloading RunnyMede AIO, may somebody tested it with different kernels and get a good battery drain?
