[Q] Speaker dock charger info - Xoom Accessories

Does the speaker dock charger have an IEC connector or something similar on it, so that the cable to the wall socket can be swapped out?
Also, is the charger 110-240v capable?
I'm thinking about concerns importing one from Amazon.

For reference/answering my own question, this seems to suggest

that the cables are swappable and it should be internationally capable.

car charger and protective case

anyone recommend one of these?
also need a couple protective cases, what's good?
the one listed for the Aria should be fine. you just need one with a micro USB connector. I have a power outlet to USB port adaptor in my car, and just use a normal USB cable for charging. saves me the hassle of buying a new charger each time i get a new phone.
i haven't felt the need for a case yet, so no recomendations from me there.
I can't find it on the website, but Walmart has a DC car charger with just two female USB ports, which is awesome, would actually let you charge two USB devices at the same time using the original charge cable. (Also, since HTC is awesome enough to use normal mini-USB ports, a replacement cable is like $10, not $29 as with iPhone). Anyone have one of these that can confirm it works with the Aria?
Like others said, you don't need a car charger specifically for the Aria. Just look for the cheapest micro (not mini) usb charger you can find. I picked one up from my local Fry's for $4.
I have two Honda CRV's and both come equipped with USB port.
Does that mean that any 'ol generic miniport connector will work as "a charger" ?
If anyone comes up with a suggestion for "cradling" inside car, please post
Thanks for the replies.
does this page list the device that is recommended ? the 3.99 item?
maybe these
or also on dealextreme.com
i just bought one off of amazon for a penny.

Any microUSB cable should work, that is the beauty of companies that stuck with connector standards.
a great place for cables is monoprice.com. really cheap price for great quality stuff. I grabbed 4 microUSB cables, an HDMI, and some component cables from there for less than $10.

USB Cable / Car Charger / Wall Charger combo

Hey guys,
Looking for a combo micro-usb wire that also comes with a dual car/wall charger. I dont care if its two pieces or three pieces, but I just care that I can keep the Captivate plugged in and not have any issues using it. The last one I bought was a Duracell three way usb combo that had a retractable wall charger on the travel charger piece, but it wasnt giving enough power to the phone, so i couldnt use it while plugged in.
I have been looking at the "Premium USB power kit" by A Days Tech on Amazon, but im worried its going to be a generic POS and not give enough juice.
Anybody know which of these works?
I guess I can also buy a high quality micro-usb wire and then a high quality USB car charger/wall plug seperately as another option. So any opinions on those are also appreciated.

There are a bunch of threads on charging these phones. Unless the charger or the cable has the data lines shorted, the phone will only charge at USB rate (~500mA). Even if you have a 1A car charger, the best you will get is USB speed UNLESS you connect the data lines on the cable. I have not seen a car charger that does this.
The most current the phone will draw is around ~750 mA. It will do this when it thinks it is attached to AC.
Hi,
I bought the Scosche HC12V Dual Home Charger, but I haven't received it yet, but from what little I know of the brand they supposedly make good accessories. I should receive it in a few weeks (shipping a captivate and accessories overseas).
Both outputs are rated at 1amp, the only thing is that it does not come with it's own cable.

I bought a car charger and separate car-to-wall converter from Monoprice. Total for both items about $5. Maybe it only charges at 500 mA but seems fine to me.

[Q] Does anyone know what kinda of connector the charger uses?

Does anyone know what kind of connector the charger uses? Is it similar to another Motorola product that has the same charger?
I'm looking for this information so I can order a new tip for my Energizer Xpal. http://www.xpalpower.com/us/products/
I'd like to find a part number for the male plug that can be ordered from a parts site like Digikey. 12v 1.5A supplies are dirt cheap, I just need the plug to splice on.
I just tried an old nokia charger and the tip works, but the charger is 5v 300ma
I am attaching the tip to a 12v 2 amps... hope I don't fry it... ha
Will keep posted
It worked!
The nokia old plug works with the Xoom.
What model nokia was the phone that adapter belonged to?

Compatible 2A USB cable for Wireless charger

Hi,
I brought the nexus wireless charger so I could use it in my car as a car charger alongside my infiniapps holder. I have everything mounted ok but I cant seem to find a cable that will allow me to connect to the charger without the dreaded red light.
I brought the portapow one from amazon which was meant to allow high amperage, but after needing to hack it so the plug would go into the charger (silly design) it still didnt work - so now I have a £5 dud cable lying around.
The difficulty is that the original cable is not long enough - my belkin charger for the cigarette lighter is ok - and Id rather not have to wire in another cigarette lighter behind the dash - so any 2 meter confirmed working cables that can be shipped to the UK out there?
Thanks!
Two meters? That's a heck of a length of cable - are you sure you really need that much?
I've had good luck with the Monoprice USB cables. The "28/24 AWG" ones supposedly have the thicker (24 AWG) wires for the power than the usual cables on the market. I have several of the 6' (~2m) ones that I use at my desk when doing dev work. They aren't floppy like the cheap cables, so I don't generally use them in the car or other places where strain on the USB connector could be an issue.
Their International page suggest that they are available through Amazon UK.

[Q] TYLT Vu car charging

Hi,
I apologize if this has already been discussed.
I just brought a TYLT Vu wireless charger. It is a very nice product, but with one major drawback that really put me off.
It doesn't have a microUSB port. Main reason I wanted that is to use it with my car charger. Is there an adapter that'll allow me to do that? It doesn't make sense to spend $30 on a car inverter.
Otherwise, from the official website, it says it needs Input: 12V / 750mA.
I know that the car batteries give a little over 12V. Can we somehow take direct input from that? Like cutting the provided charger and soldering the pin directly to the 12V car input? Will that work? What are the concerns/issues/problems with this?
BTW, the small pin type adapter, is it the same as old nokia adapter? I have one lying around somewhere. I can search by tonight, but if someone can confirm it before that, that'll be helpful. I can just cut the wires from that and not damage my original adapter.
