HTC desire running Cmod 7 issues. - Desire General

Okay I'm running the latest cyanogen rom and all is well besides the fact I've lost some contacts and am unable to store new ones on the sim.
Is there a way around this?

yeppers, use your google account for contacts storage, you will never have a problem

+1
Google account automatically syncs with your phone, no need to hassle with contacts backup/restore Also, it can be used to backup your installed apps automatically (without settings restored tho)

Thank you so much guys

Invaluable tip, thanks very much. Had the same problem.

Pendlebum I downloaded an application called contacts2sim and it will store any numbers you have stored to your phone to your sim. Its a bit of an inconvenience but it works

Hi, I've been trying to do this with no such luck, finds them says its importing then wont show up the contacts am using oxygen 1.03?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
What i did was, Flash CM6.1 and then install contact2sim from the market and use it. Contact2sim does not work on the stock sense rom.
Hope that helps!
Hi thanks for the reply I do like oxygen tho was on cm 6.1 before and atcually I recall it working illtry that app you were saying and give it a shot on oxygen

you don't need an app. you select dialer-> contacts-> import/export->import from simcard.
Yeah I did that but for some reason my rom wont actually do it im running oxygen says its imporyted then nothing in contacts wnt even show then syncd from google will show facebook fine tho :s

have you tried MyPhoneExplorer to pull the numbers from your phone to PC?
probably not what youre looking for....
Even with newest oxygen? Are you sure you have contacts in sim card? Try it in a simple phone. Ie sonyericsson.

I had a similar problem when I imported my contacts from a vCard file on my SD card. They didn't show up in Contacts but did show up in SMS and the call log.
The problem is that by default unsynced contacts are hidden from the list. To show them, hit Menu > Display options, tap your Google account, put a check in "All Other Contacts," then finally tap the Done button. Your unsynced contacts should show up now.

[Q] pictures of contacts in messaging disappeared

Anyone have an idea on how to fix this? ty..
Nope stuck at the same problem x(

Export contacts to sd, delete all contacts, import contacts from sd, then turn off google contact sync. Worked for me but it's more of a work around than fix.

I've got the same problem, but it doesn't matter - it'll be resolved I think.
So is this yet another side-effect of the last firmware update...?

[Q] Marketplace Account Switch

I have just installed the leaked GB rom and its all gone fine and is running perfectly expect the market.
I have two googlemail accounts (for the ease of explanation here A & B)
All my market purchases and downloaded are stored under account A, but for some reason if I go to the market there is nothing listed under "Apps" if I go to buy a new app it lists account B as the one which it wants to buy an app under.
How do I change from account B to A so the market place updates with my old purchases and will sync with https://market.android.com/ which has ALL my downloaded under my account.
Thanks
When you set up the phone, was the first Google account you added A or B? It needs to be A as primary.
If B you have no choice but to wipe / hard reset.

It was B (dont know why I did that) if I do a factory reset now and then when it reboots enter account A will it sync to that account as primary?
Yes.

First thing after new ROM

Hello.
What is the first thing (or first few things) you do after flashing a new ROM?
Me: disable data =D; I get charged like crazy if I leave it on. I turn it back on only when needed.
The very first thing I do is hit reboot in recovery.
via xda app

Same here, make sure I'm signed into my google account and get all my contacts back. Or else I get texts from people and don't know who they're from
Praying to god this would be my last flash. I managed to accomplish that.
Restore contacts and accounts
same here, then reboot.
I disable data..enable wifi and set up my google account, change my wallpaper and titanium restore.
The first thing I do is fill my Google Account in order to reinstall my free apps from the Market and my address book contacts to see if the memory below Ext is well behaved and if so restored with titanium backup.
disabling/freezing apps/services that i dont want, and make my data connection 2g for more batter : O)
Coffee and cigarette and thinking about next step/rom

Transfer contacts?

My friend broke his screen on his HTC trophy and he is unable to see anything on the screen. He cannot put in his password to unlock the phone. Does anyone have any ideas on how to transfer the contacts? Cellibrite will not work because the phone cannot be unlocked because the broken screen....

Phone is not unlocked.

He doesn't need to; they will all transfer automatically when he puts his sim card into a new windows phone and logs into his live account associated with his original phone. If he needs to see his contact have him visit his windowsphone.com account and view contacts.
If no sim card, no worries, just sign into new phone using the live id he used on the trophy.
I think that is part of the problem. He never did have a windows live account.
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
He had to set one up at some point to use the market, built in services like Office & Skydrive, Find My Phone ect. He's either got a "live" or "hotmail" account, and that is where his contacts will be stored. He could have had them sync elsewhere in addition to that (like gmail ect)
He has his replacement phone which is a HTC trophy as well. He has the phone up and going but his contacts are not there. What should he log into to bring up his contacts? Window market, his email account,... sorry for the newb question. I am use to android.
Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt using XDA Premium App
What for email did he use?
Windows live 1st... it is usually required.
Gmail?
Exchange?
Any of these he could have been saving contacts too. Just not pop3 like comcast for example.
Have him enter all of his email accounts that his previous phone used and see what happens after they sync.
Ok. Thanks
