Hello~ I'm using MIUI rom.
1. setting -> system -> About phone -> 'My phone number' in 'status' -> 'unknown' is seen.
2. *#*#6484#*#* (test mode) -> 'SIM id' in 'Check SIM status' -> 'unknown' is seen and it also appears in 'SIM operator name'
* In cyanogen(mod)7 ROM, I enter 'My phone number' directly and let it recognize it. But is this impossible in MIUI ROM?
(* cynogen(mod)7 ROM

Please help me solve this problem and I would really appreciate it. It makes so much trouble.

Same issue here. Can't get DeskSMS to work without the phone knowing its number... Has the option just been removed from MIUI?
Bumping again. Asked in the Bulletproof MIUI thread too. Seen others ask and get no response so far.

I had the same problem on my stock G2. I had to call support and they fixed it in a jiffy. Just had to enter in some codes from the dialpad and the number showed up.

Interesting. So just tell them your phone number is showing up as "unknown"?
I just had an online chat with a CS rep. He had me power off my phone a couble times and take the SIM card out while he sent OTA SIM updates. Both texts got sent confirming that the OTA was received, but number is still "Unknown".
CS rep said I'd have to go use another T-mobile phone to get the OTA then move the SIM back. Oh well. Maybe I'll load my stock 2.2 ROM and get the OTA then try again.
Sorry hear your still having probs. Techs fixed my no number instantly.

That's not true, my MIUI shows my number without doing anything.
I think it's related to the SIM card. Did you use the new card that came with the phone or the one from your previous phone? My mom, for example, is using the SIM that she got about 10 years ago when we signed up with T-Mobile and it shows Unknown, but I'm using the new one and it shows my number where it should.

has anyone found a fix for this yet? i know this thread is old, but I have been having this issue since I rooted my phone. I do not have the option in settings to change my number manually, or at least can't find it. Is there a sim manager or toolbox app that would allow me to do this? I mainly need the number to show up to use Tikl

I just got a G2. perm rooted it. and everytime upon booting up it has signal for 1 second then literally just disappears and never comes back. can't choose mobile network or anything because it can't search for it. tried doing *#*#infor#*#* and it says GSM ONLY and everytime i try to change it to WCDMA PREFERRED it keeps reverting back as soon as i exit. the only way i've been able to get signal back so far is to connect to wifi and enable wifi calling, then after disconnecting i'm able to get signal and i'm able to check the WCDMA PREFERRED option but awhile ago i was on wifi calling then left my house and it was disconnected but wasn't able to get signal again.
can anyone help me with what i should do because although i might be able to get it back through wifi calling, this will be very problematic whenever i'm not near my normal wifi locations...

No it wasn't. For the past couple of days since calling tmobile, its been significantly better but today I did randomly have that same problem of no connection, but mostly right now my problem is my g2 not being able to read my phone number in "status" under "about phone" settings but it does on my n1. When I called tmobile they tried sending my number ota 3 times with no luck...

During the first 30 days you can go to a TMO store and get a new phone, pretty much "no questions asked". I'd go ahead and do that if I was you. Oh, go to a corporate store though, not a mall kiosk.
While you're there, get a new SIM, too. All free of charge.
If you still have the same problem after that, I'd try an exorcist
Is this problem solved now ? I got the same problem but have no chance to return it back.

My signal problems seemed to be resolved, at least for the past week. It was resolved by calling tmobile customer support and they did some tests. However, my phone not recognizing my phone number under settings> about phone> status, is still a problem. Even tried getting a new sim and still didn't solve the problem. Did numerous OTAs with tmobile that didn't work. My number still shows up on caller id and stuff its just that menu thing. Sounds insignificant but some apps use that to determine your phone number. Also, when putting my sim back into my nexus one, it does show my number...

Hello everyone, this is my first post here, so be nice!
For starters, i have the European HTC One X. I've been having trouble rooting it, but I finally managed it! So, when it was rooted, I noticed that my phone didn't ask for my PIN code. I thought it had something to do with the SIM card not being correctly in place, but i checket it, and it was ok. I checked the Settings, and on Airplane mode, it says "turning off" without me turning it either on or off. I cant press anything there, and when i try to turn it off through holding down the power button, nothing is happening.
Its been a few hours, and I've tried to unroot, factory reset and other stuff. Tell me if you need more info, and I'll be thankful for all answers! I really need help here!

A Box should pop up,
Saying IMEI in the top grey box, whilst showing a long number in the middle white box.
If you have nothing in the middle, no long number - sorry to say, but it's 'bricked'
You won't get a working sim on a corrupt IMEI, and it seems you have deleted yours.
I assume your attempts to root as corrupted & broken your IMEI, I would never recommend one root click programs - always best to just use a custom Rom.

I believe your phone is bricked,
Unless you had a backup of your EFS folder which contains your IMEI, I don't think there is a way to restore it.
Because the IMEI is gone, no sim card will work, and you'll be limited to emergency calls only and wifi I think.
Maybe someone else can respond to verify this, but in my opinion - it doesn't look good for your phone (sorry to be the bearer of such bad news)
Hopefully someone will enter the thread to disagree with me, but that's just what I think.

Well, it is sad news indeed, but i really appreciate that you could give me the news. I have been googling like a maniac for a few days now, and noone could give me a clear answer. But do you think i will be able to return the phone if i turn it back to factory reset?
I've had this imei problem on my motorola defy (locked bootloader) and wasn't reading my sim after installing defy+ cm10 JB nightlies, but i recovered the phone to default using leaked radio flasher and it was fixed. Dunno if this could be fixed by an ruu flash but since its bricked what you got to lose ?
Hello again. I just found the receipt/bill (dunno in english) from when i bought the phone. There is a IMEI number there. Can i use it for something? For unbricking the phone, I mean.
Flashing the ruu doesn't fix the problem, I have done it many times and it still remains unknown. I believe the efs folder does not relate to HTC phones. It seems we are very much bricked! I tried sending it to HTC for warranty repair but because it has been unlocked they say the warranty is void..

Well f*ck. I bought insurance for it (when i bought it), and have reset to factory settings. Would anyone by ANY possibility be able to see that i messed with the software? And if they ask if i rooted it, or flashed ROMs, could i say "huh, what is that? How do i do it?"
I'm gonna try atleast. Update you later on the day

It's best to:
Relock your bootloader
Flash the RUU that you need to get a fully stock device
And take it to the shop you bought it from, do not send it directly to HTC yourself - you want to always go through a middle man of possible.
.... And just hope.
Basically, as I first noticed - it looks like your rooting procedures have corrupted your IMEI leaving you with an unrecoverable device.
In the future, stay clear from one click root apps - best way to root has always been to flash a kernel or Rom that includes it.
Good luck and hope they ain't too fussy to give you a working device.

I have a similar problem with my htc one x. yesterday I saw that it disconnected my SIM card so I rebooted my phome. My phone wasnt ROOTED or anything. Is there a way to deal with this problem without sending the phone to warranty?
My LG Nitro HD does not have cell network connection after sleeping for more then 5 min
After that it takes a while to register to ATT.
Baseband is v10f.
Before, I flashed the latest 2.0 and Nitro 2.2 ROM but imei disappeared and had to unbrick with kzw file.
Running CM10.1 nightly. But had the same problem with wind kernel.
Also, when connected to the charger phone stays registered at ATT even if it is in 'sleep'. I guess, it has to do with current not being adequate or governor not working as needed for my phone. Any idea which setting is affecting that?
On the other note:
IMEI is fine 0xxx41 but
IMEI SV number is 00
Is this normal?

Couple questions: Who is your service provider, ie AT&T? Also, did you manually install the v10f baseband? Because NitroTNT v 2 & 2.2 will automatically install the v20f baseband. CM10.X doesn't it keeps what ever baseband that is already installed. IMEI with 00 is not normal, that is tied to the phone hardware and should never change. So it could point to a hardware problem.

First thanks for the interest, the issue is real pain in the a...
Provider is ATT and the phone is not unlocked. When flash the original ATT ROM (from unbrick guide it manage to keep the registration, but the phone is restarting like crazy.
I did manually flashed v10f baseband, but then re-flash the original ATT as described in the unbrickguide. So, it reflashes the baseband again.
I have flashed Nitro 2.2 but I lost my IMEI in the process (may be in a minute or so after restart the IMEI will go blank). Then I reflash back all the basebands I have, (with Nitro 2.2) but it got worsed. Even restoring the ATT ROM backup did not bring my IMEI, so I did UNBRICK.
Tried the HONO ROM (Bev based?) it broke everything including WiFi.
My IMEI currently is OK (0xxxxxx41) but the second line in About->Phone (IMEI SV) is showing 00. I am thinking to use nv tools to check efs and back it up but cant find good guide and how to put LG Nitro in Diagnostic.
One more strange thing, if the phone is connected to a charger then it keeps the registration overnite, even if it is 'sleeping'.
I guess, it has to do with current not being adequate or governor (it is on the default settings, ONDEMAND) not working as needed for my phone. Any idea which setting is affecting that?
I am kind of new to customizing.
Thx
Nikolay
Lol my bad missed the "sv" in IMEI SV....OK bottom line it doesn't matter. SV stands for software version nothing else and had no effect on the problem you are having. I did notice you used an older unbricking guide. Besides it being a little harder that hereric's guide the one thing that might cause an issue that you are experiencing is the fact that guide uses a kdz file for the su640 and not the p93x series. Just look for a kdz file for the p936 before doing anything else and run the debricking guide again. That might take care of it, or worst case its just a good idea to do, so the product is codes are correct.

In regards to why p936 and not the p930, hardware is all the same the only difference is the carrier and country. I just wanted to give you a clean starting point and if you want to install a custom ROM through a custom recovery like cwm you have to get down to gingerbread as ICS has that pesky locked boot loader.

Could be a faulty sim. If you have a friend or family member on at&t see if you can stick in their sim card. If it works fine then you know your sim is bad and they are not expensive and it would be an easy fix.

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum, the reason i've joined is that my Galaxy Note II has a major problem with it...
Early august I rooted it, but then put it back to it's original ROM, it was working fine for a week or so, and then it wouldn't make any calls.
I can access 3g, used a different SIM card Three and it does the same thing. I've rebooted it from scratch about 4/5 times.
Today I found it in my drawer and wanted to try it again, I put my SIM card in and the same thing still happens.
Any suggestions?7

What about your IMEI ? Most probably it will be fine as you still able to use 3G. In certain when IMEI is correct and you are unable to make Call, possibilities are
1.Device get banned due to tempered IMEI (usually happens if you have purchased old and may be stolen)
2.Network locked.
Talk to your operator about these.

Best not to ask this question.
Changing the ID of a phone IS ILLEGAL.
Dr.ketan is the expert but, as long as your phone is not blocked. whenever I get that error, I simply go into settings do a network search and then re register on my network. I presume you've tried that already?

I imported an F400L from Korea. Everything has been great except for making calls. Every single time I try to make a call, it gives me an annoying prompt called "roaming dial" and asks whether I want to call to Korea or Call Local.
I have the right APN settings and have checked literally every setting under Roaming and Mobile Networks. I can't get rid of this thing. Third party dialers have the same effect. I don't really want to install a custom rom.
Anyone have any idea how to get rid of this? Is anyone else rocking an F400?

Just as an update for anyone else who may have this issue: I tried installing other dialers: The European version of the G3, as well as the Google stock dialer. "Global Roaming" still comes up every time I call someone, so it seems to be a setting or something baked into the ROM. Still looking for a way to disable this.
Also looking for any info on how to get rid of this dialer on a F400L
The furthest I got was to disable the dual roaming clock, and removed anything else that showed i was roaming. What I have noticed, is that if i enter the international prefix and area code, the dialer will not ask whether it is a Korea call or Local call. I've found a section where we can automatically add the prefix on local calls but only a handful of countries are listed (I'm assuming its all other countries that dont have a G3 release in their market). If we could add our own specific country to the list (mine is +852 Hong Kong), I think this might be a workaround?
Anyone else have any insight?

I have the same problem, any have a solution?? thanks!
It's nice to at least see other people acknowledging this issue. I haven't found a fix, other than to add a +1 in front of every number in my address book.
Hello there,
I am experiencing the same issue mentioned before, and now with the latest update to version 5.0 when dialing a number, it is not asking if the call is local or not.
Also, there seems to be a permanent notification with the following message
"Searching... Available networks are being searched."
IS there somebody that can help me review and fix this issue.?
Looking forward to your prompt response.
Thank you in advance!
Regards
Have you tried using the TOT method to flash a stock Verizon rom or whatever carrier that you are using. You should be able to do so using the LGUP_8974.dll found here http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G3 LGUP_8974.dll From what I have read that dll will let you flash a rom from any G3 even if it is a different model. The good news is that you can always flash back using your stock TOT.
still struggling

I imported an F400L from Korea. Everything has been great except for making calls. Every single time I try to make a call, it gives me an annoying prompt called "roaming dial" and asks whether I want to call to Korea or Call Local.
I have the right APN settings and have checked literally every setting under Roaming and Mobile Networks. I can't get rid of this thing. Third party dialers have the same effect. I don't really want to install a custom rom.
Anyone have any idea how to get rid of this? Is anyone else rocking an F400?

Hi, have you find the way to fix that? I'm still struggling with this problem and can't find any way would work. well, there are few approaches that work for other LG devices, such as amend build.prop file or change the LGphone.apk along with other files. but still can't be sure any of these would work. really need to fix this!!!!! never buy L version!!!!!
