Framework-res.apk/values/strings.xml
My guide still works for ec05 and anything before it. You can only see the values folder when the apk is decompiled using apkmanager or apktool. Xmls can only be edited when decompilwd also

Yeah,I think the file ended in 99,not 01,well,I know it was a diffrent name from the one in the tut; But I went and got a stock framework, and used the new apk manager, decompiled, changed Sprint to ???,and compiled with no errors, still got FC's on boot,so I got the blank framework provided by ??? (I forget)...

I remember doing this with CM3 and CM4 on my G1, unfortunately, the files don't exist to remove in 2.3.2.. I have a theme for evervolv gingerbread and would like to incorporate this into my theme. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Im thinking I may need to add some lines in keygaurd_rotary_unlock_port.xml, but am not positive.. or maybe remove some lines from another .xml?
Attached is an image of what id like this to look like.. Basically just the ability to view the homescreen with the keygaurd is up.

Recompiling an .apk
There are a couple of ROMs that I want to make it compatible with, and the framework is not interchangable, so this seems to be the easiest way to go about it.
Also, I did say any guidance would be appreciated. Oh gave some guidance-more than I got from anyone else. Haha

You may also have to edit policy.jar from the frameworks as it contains code for the lockscreen. Looking at the XML the color code is a transparent code. So it is the actual desktop picture showing, but how to get the widgets to show through idk.

Just a quick FYI.. for anyone wanting to manually do this on TW. You'll need to make changes to the tw_status_bar.xml rather than the status_bar.xml mentioned in the OP.
* Edit: Derp! Apparently this has already been mentioned in the thread....

It is same trick as Galaxy Nexus: put the font files in /system/fonts, and put .xml file in /etc
Prerequisite: rooted S3 (any variants) and Root Explorer
Note: some applications still use Roboto (like facebook).

Reflash your ROM.
So how is this any different than using this
com.monotype.android.font.WindowsPhone7-1.apk
No need for root. I have been using this for a while now and works great. Is there a difference between this and the OP's?

cool stuff! you got any recommended tracks for audio to go with the hubble boot?
Personally, if I had to put audio to this, it would be some part of the opening theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Correct the are NOT flashable, I just replace the bootanimation in system>media using Root Explorer
NCC-1701
thanks for the tip, but I wouldn't like space odyssey on my phone
I happened to find a track I like for the hubble boot, thanks to a recent nasa article. you can rip the audio from the video online (google it)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFT7ATLQQx8
now I just have to pick a part of the track I like and rip that out...
