Trackpad Camera

I am using virtuous 3.0.1 and I am wondering if there is any way to get the trackpad to be a one click camera from the home screen? Or if there is any ROM where this feature is built in? Sorry if I am posting in the wrong forum.
This would be the right forum... But as far as I'm aware there is not any way to have that done, but if you search you can have a long press on the search button do that for you.
thank you but a long press is not what I want...I find myself trying to take quick pictures sometimes and it takes to long to get to the camera feature to do it, thats the only thing I miss about my Blackberry
Checkout quickshot app or aquickcamera app.
If you are savvy, you may get an extra edge by adding the taker app scripts.

[Q] Modded Hardware Keyboard layout

I'm using Virtous Sense ROM and i'm very pleased with it.
I find the user buttons on the hardware keyboard pretty useless.
Is there anybody here who modded these keys to be something else?
I'm mainly looking for someone who made button 1 a 'close' button. button 2 doesn't really matter to me.
Anyone out there who wants to share this?
(i tried to read into it myself but found i little bit out of my legeau)
Thanks in advance!
Grtz

Remapping Buttons Mod

Ok guys, I am new to any android evelopment but i now have some time on my hand before starting a job developing embedded linux sytems.
So im sure many people are aware of blubbers menu button mod to remove the ics menu buttons.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582506
basically ,me included, alot of other people want different combinations of the keys.
For example
Back: SP->Back
LP->Kill App
Home:SP->Home
LP->RecApps
RecApps: SP->Search
LP->Menu
with the introduction of aroma installer it allows different configurations.
So with the help of the rest of the community i would like to create a mod which allows users to select different cimbinations of short press and long press functions for each of the three buttons. Also add an option to disable the ics menu button if desired.
Anyone that can five me a help to get staryed on this, it owuld be appreciated.

cheers man i do remember reading you saying that a while back. However 'no offense' I do not want to install your rom. I would like to be able to have a mod that could allow this functionality on ANY rom.
however i might actually giver your rom a go. im on ARHD 4.0 (been busy with university recently to notice any uypdates) and your rom certainly seems alot better since i last looked at it.

doesnt hurt to try it out...you wont regret it!....and if restore your backup (-;
It'll be awesome to have a stand alone mod to do this, so we can use it with any rom, even stock rooted ones...
j4n87 in your experience do you think it's possible to do this? or the only way is cooking the mod in a ROM like yours?

...sure, would be possible. But within my Rom and with my tweaks they are fully reconfigurable....you can choose between HTC speak, recent apps or any.custom app..and for the back button also to close an app.

having a stand alone mod would be awesome, even better one that was compatible with the NA One X
I really do appreciate the initiative, and just like you, I do like the rom I am running (CM9 alpha 4) but would love to be able to customise the hardware buttons as I please...
Overall, a mod would allow more flexibility to users...
Thanks in advance!

Request: Camera to take photos by pressing down the Power button

Can somebody make our camera to take a Snap when we press the power button, I'm looking for something like that for a long time but Can't find anything, and by any chance I want to use the original Camera just this mode nothing else.
Please if someone of the devs is capable of doing this I(and many others I guess) would appreciate it very much.
Just like a heads up the Camera version on i9100 on ICS is capable of doing this, but for some reason our devices don't have this option!
Thanks in advance!
Actually, I am using MS_Guru's CM9 and there is an option in settings called "Power Shutter" , which allows you to take a pic with the power button ...
AOKP has this option
Stock CM9 has the option also

LP back to kill

Hello all, LP back to kill is the only thing missing from the stock rom. I can get center clock, but hate not being able to kill apps. Anybody working on this or can cook something up for me?

This was the very first hit when I Googled your question for you.
Check it out and let us know if it works?

Appreciate that, tried that a while ago and did not have success.

The Pure Nexus ROM has it baked into the settings to allow for the back button to kill foreground app. Maybe you could ask them for the coding or see if they posted it somewhere.
