Being a loyal sales associate at RadioShack, I figure that I'd tell you all that you can get these A2DP phones for half off their clearance price of $80 starting today and going through june 3rd I think. It's in store only, so no online buying and you gotta find a store that has them in stock. I bought these a couple of monts back when we sold them for $50 and I love them. They fold up and I got the full 300ft (yes 300, not 30) range away from my 8125.
For those of you with Ipods. We got a device to add A2DP through the dock connector for $25 (half off its clearance price of $50, originally $100) that you can use with the spiders too.
There is also a coupon for $10 off a $30+ purchase. Something they're doing for fathers day. Technically not supposed to be combinable with clearance stuff, but you may be able to do it. They usually keep extras in the store. You could go up to a clerk and say you forgot your coupon at home and ask if they'll give you another one or just ring you up with it. That'd bring the total for the headphones down to $30.
nice info, will check it out when i have time may be today.
Very good deal indeed. I went to check it out, it's available in Palo Alto CA store, it's a little too big for me (I already have an HT820)
I bought a pair of these...and all I can tell you is that they are absolute dogs when it comes to battery life. For the 10 minutes that they work...they sound pretty good...but the battery is total crap...
Fair warning..
Finally the official HTC Desktop Dock is now available and appears to be only in stock at HTCpedia.

My opinion...
If this would have been released with the phone or shortly thereafter I think it would have sold like hotcakes. I have no doubt that I would have bought one.
But now that the phone has been out for so long a lot of people have found other alternatives or have gotten used to just using the kickstand (like me).
For 60.00, I'll pass.

Yes I totally agree... I say that money can be better spent on the ext battery!
$60 bucks?? i will also pass
where's the HDMI out? boo!
Too little too late, htc. I am absolutely not paying 60 dollars for a cheap piece of plastic that does nothing my current wall charger doesn't do.
Frankly, that looks very similar, if not, exactly like the dock on the verizon website.
And they sell for the same price.
Looks nice and I might consider it if/when it drops to a reasonable price.
Looks great, but I';; wait until it comes down to about $25.
Pass as well on this. $60 is better spent elsewhere.
60$?!?!?!?!
this is the **** that pisses me off
$14.99 pls?
its cool i got a dock with my kickstand
Also, I'll probably wait until someone sells this on amazon for a really cheap price.
Only a matter of time I say...
EDIT:
It seems there are merchants selling the car dock for about 17 dollars new (at time of post). Plus other non-HTC desktop docks for about 30 bucks

HDMI out is impossible since the TB doesn't have an HDMI port. And its really not needed on a phone....

That is one opinion. This was a great feature of my old X, I was disappointed the Thunderbolt didn't come with it.
I went ahead and ordered one, I had one for my old Droid and liked it when using it as an alarm clock.
Wish it would have been a little cheaper though.
Here's a 3rd part equivalent for half the price
Amazon
Really HTC? After months of waiting this is what you bring is this overpriced dock with no HDMI out on it? How about dropping this to $30 then I might be interested. Otherwise epic fail.
HTC y U NO PUT HDMI PORT?!?!1?!! =[
Because they really failed with this phone. I loved it at first, but now I am just beginning to hate it. With the issues like the stupid usb location, gps issues, no HDMI, random reboots, etc I am really beginning to regret my decision from launch day.

Seriously. When I heard the $60 price tag, I thought that this must have an hdmi to come close to making it worth it. I agree with the post above, this phone is ok, but no where near the build quality of the OD Droid.
found this on Amazon last night. Picked it up for 18 bucks. Ive really wanted one but never found them any cheaper than 60. for anyone that doesnt have one or didnt get one because they were too expensive this is great.

Probably not, as they'll be different sizes and the microusb port will be in different spots.
Giggity
I figured I have at least another year with this phone as I am a firm believer not to upgrade when under contract due to the exuberant cost. So I figured WTH might as well get it while it's super cheap.
Indeed.
I was explaining it to my wife the other day. In another year my contract is up, and I'll see what's out there in terms of phones. I feel like my days of forking out nearly $300 with contract are over. I'm going to wait until a good phone is nearly free with contract, even if that means spending more time with the bolt.
Duely blundered from my thunderdolt
I never really used a docking station - plug it into my speakers on my PC instead. But it is a nice little thing. I picked this one up just to try it.
I hesitated to pull the trigger, and now it's back up to 45 bucks.
However, on e-bay:
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/view...cmd=VIDESC&index=3&nav=SEARCH&nid=57516831989
I have never used ebay. It says it has free shipping, but it mentions something about "bulk" packaging and explicitly says it's not "retail." It does, however, claim to be new. I'm also a bit worried that there are no pics of the accompanying cables.
Think it's a safe buy?
Also, has anyone seen that amazon has 10 dollar rezound batteries? They're OEMs, not some aftermarket BS. Unless I'm missing something there too. Did anyone pick one up?
Duely blundered from my thunderdolt
What's up with the price change? Is there anything justifying the 470% price increase?????
Other than greed, I mean...
Anker battery, sold by 'authorized seller' on eBay; not even ten bucks:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Anker-1900mAh-Battery-Samsung-Galaxy-S2-II-i9100-/220813288199
Same battery sold by same seller, much MUCH more expensive now:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Anker-1900mAh-Battery-for-Samsung-Galaxy-S2-II-i9100-/330747106855
What's up with that? is it because the I9100 will be "phased out" or something? Isn't there an installed customer base huge enough for these guys to continue selling their batteries at an affordable price? I'm flabbergasted.....
-=-=-=-=-=-= Edit:
After having looked around a bit, to my great surprise, I was able to find this at $9 on Amazon.ca. I was VERY surprised since we, in Canada, rarely get the same deals as in the US... we always get milked with more expensive products, even of our dollar is at par with the US dollar. But this time, the price was the same.
Now the funny thing is, the Amazon.com and .ca seller is the SAME as on eBay; so he sells these babies $47 on eBay and less than ten bucks on Amazon. I do not understand it one bit....
wanted to buy this battery about a week or 2 ago and saw those prices on ebay, no idea why it increased that much so would like to hear if someone know

Your best bet is now Amazon.com or Amazon.ca... If you are luckily to be in the USA or Canada.
Other than that, the eBay prices are absolutely grotesque... :-\
NEW ROM will arrive people will buy NEW BATTERY instead of changing phone ! (It`s a 2 year old phone so battery will not last as new)
It's back down to $12 now, but I'd say they were low on stock so they jacked up the price for the last one or two units to avoid running out. Many online sellers do this for some reason, I guess selling out looks bad.
Hi All,
I found this while I was browsing around.

The MSRP is $99, they're charging $25 right now. Tried googling the name, but nothing comes up. Then again, its hard to mess up a wireless charger. I ordered it anyway.
Just in case anybody else is interested. :good:

Yeah I bought 4 of these on ebay for 15$ a piece shipped I started with two , they worked perfect so I bought two more a couple days later all in 4 for 60$ I couldn't be happier just do a quick search on ebay, if your u sure just hit me up I'll find my reciept....

There is no way the MSRP on that is $99. Definitely not a "steal" as they put it. I've been burned by that website before on a MicroSD card that was advertised as a sandisk class 10 but ended up being some knockoff brand when it finally got to me, loose and floating around an envelope in no packaging.

DO NOT buy this!!
It has a proprietary plug, is not micro USB, and the output is only 750mA... It will charge your phone extremely slowly compared to other Qi chargers.
Most other Qi chargers, even ones half this price have a 1000mA output.

I will admit its not that fastest charger out their, but by no means it is a bad wireless charger what so ever. Takes under 3 hours to get a full charge from 0%.
I had a Tylt Wireless Charger on order and had to cancel the order after reading about their over heating issues. While N5 users using the DT900 have nothing but good things to say about it, a simple search here on XDA will prove you that.
The Nokia DT-900 is a quality wireless charger, especially when compared to any cheap eBay wireless charger you can buy, I would never set my phone on a cheap eBay wireless charger.

If you generalize about the quality of a product strictly based on price and where you buy it from, you'll miss out on great products sorry to say. And I have done quite a bit of reading, both here on xda and elsewhere about the DT-900, and it's a mixed bag. Most of the high praise was due to the price when they had a fire sale, the performance is just average, many saying on the slow side. Also with issues of having to perfectly find the sweet spot, despite it having 3 coils.
While I agree the Tylt Vu is not my cup of tea, if you search for posts I've done about cheap Qi chargers. I've got ones that we're under $12, charge fantastically, and have no problems with detection. And yup, dirt cheap from ebay, the place where you would never set your phone down.

What I meant by the cheap eBay products is that they aren't name brands, meaning they are cheaply made by god knows who...
I don't think their sale price has anything to do with it, look at Tylts they had a 50% off sale on them, and it has just exposed the overheating issue with the N5 even more because more people bought them and were affected by the issue. Whereas Nokia's also had them on sale and has gotten good reviews, barely any complaints on the N5 forums.
But we are all entitled to our own opinions, so I respect yours.
I will happily read those posts,
Thanks.

Okay, but that's your mistake. You're assuming everything name brand is somehow better, and everything no name is cheap. In other words, you are the exact target audience for advertising, branding, marketing, and labels.
A Nike symbol on a shoe, doesn't somehow make it higher quality than the exact shoe without the swoosh stitching. They're still made at the same $1.50 hour sweat shops overseas. Only that little check mark allows a store to mark it up hundreds of dollars more.
Have you seen how a bread factory works? It's the same production line, at the very end it splits off in multiple directions for multiple brands. Wonderbread, walmart, house brand, no name. Same production line, same product, different branding, vastly different prices. Your breakfast cereal works the exact same way, same factories, different boxes and branding. No name/generic, skips the advertising and branding, so they charge less, and I save money.
But if you want to keep the opinion that generic = cheap garbage, go for it. I'll happily spend less money for a product that is the same or better, even if it doesn't have a few extra letters associated with a giant corporation.
Here's an example I did about the Nexus 5 quicksand cases. Name brand vs Generic ebay. One is $20, the other $0.99
You tell me if the 20x increase in price is worth it.

I never said that generic brands in totality are garbage. That's why in a post above I said depends.
You can't always compare cheap no name brands to high end brand names. Sometimes you can sometimes you can't.
But this is really worthless, this thread was simply about someone wanting to buy a $25 no name cheap wireless charger and I pointed out that for $24.50 they could buy something that is better in terms of quality and brand.
BTW nice find with the cases, in that case the generic brand was of very similar quality when compared to the name brand.

Thanks, but on technicalities, it's not "similar quality" to the name brand case. It is the SAME case, minus some ink for 1/20 the price.
Also, it isn't worthless to bring this topic up, because despite talking about it, you continue to keep making ignorant generalizations, in this case, ones with no factual basis.
For instance, why do you automatically assume his charger of choice is a "no name cheap wireless charger?" You know absolutely nothing about it. Sure there are ones out there that cost less, but why would you assume his is bad? Just because it isn't Nokia, Sony, Samsung, or whatever other billion dollar conglomerate, doesn't make the product no name or cheap.
Then you list a Nokia, saying it's better in terms of quality and brand, yet you have no basis for comparison other than what you're imagining.
Your recommendation, other than the word Nokia molded in the plastic in worse in every way than almost all other standard Qi chargers.
1) It uses proprietary inputs, almost every other manufacturer uses the standard micro USB adapter.
2) Most reviews say it requires finding the sweet spot to charge, or the phone doesn't recognize it.
3) It's output is 750mA while almost all others are 1000mA.
So again, how is the Nokia better in terms of quality and brand when in all actuality, the product is worse in every way?
This is going to be my last post as it isn't adding much to the topic.
Its like comparing a a Mercedes Benz to a Kia. Which one is better my friend? The Benz or the Kia. We all know the high end brand is going to be better.
If you tell me the Kia then we all know who is actually being ignorant.
Remember I earlier said it is my opinion, and that I respected yours. I'm not going to lower myself to getting into some stupid fight with you over this. Like I said and will say again it is my opinion. If you don't respect another people opinions the one who shouldn't be recommending products is yourself.
/end
