gps.spade.so , what is it? - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know it controls gps but what us it I.e a driver or configuration file? If I pull it from a original 2.1 stock rom would it work on the latest miui rom? My gps won't work and overwriting it with a old cm7 file seemed to work

["fugutweak"] for Overcome 4.0.0

**** managed to post this in dev - please move?
In good spirit of fugu I ripped some bin's 'n' lib's from JQ3 (GB 2.3.5) and made them flashable via cwm for Overcome 4.0.0 (and possibly for lower versions to). Ive tested this for about a week without issues..
Files updated in bin folder
app_process
system_server
Files updated in libs folder
libopencore_player.so
libquickview.so
libstagefright.so
libsthmb.so
libtflua.so
libtfutils.so
I suggest make a copy of these files before proseeding and put them in a recovery file to revert changes.
Note, tried to update libsurfaceflinger.so but phone won't boot, therefore its removed.
Download
Where do you want it moving to?
It looks like it belongs in Development. Is this for another device?
Can you say what exactly this update do? better media playback?
Fugu tweaks are System server and app process, from sgs
Which device are these from?
you've done ......."more"...
why not call it something else?
is this usable tweak for overcome 4
please specify what will be change/diffrent before and after use this tweak, thank you.

problem after port

hi all
i ported X-STRONGER 6.0 to our device
after the port i had 2 problems
1-i cant connect my phone to pc
2-camera is not working
after some works i solved the problem with the usb
but i need help with fixing the camera
Have you tried replacing the gallery2/4 app?
ok i have tested everything in the rom and there are 3 unfixed problems in it now
1-in lockscreen has a little problem(the camera button is a little down)
2-themes are not working(i dont know but they are not working on some other roms for me. maybe its my problem)
3-camera not working
i really need your helps and suggestion
im sure everyone will like this rom because its very fast. i had stable 250-80mg free ram with lupus 480p and 230+ free ram with lupus 720p(and it has many futures)
im doing all i can for this rom
gallery?
i will try it now
there were no gallery.apk or gallery2.apk but there was semcgallery3d.apk on both base and port
i replaced it but nothing happened
i fixed the problem of lockscreen
it was a problem with the main rom
he changed the lockscreen app to make a new style but it made that problem
so i changed it with aeonworld lockscreen app and its working correct now
im working on theme manager bug now for 90% i will solve it soon
update:the problem of themes are solved now. so only 1 more bug. the camera
i have a Little problem
there is and app in this rom named 3d album in this rom
but i cant find it in system/app
hoow can i remove that?
You can use catlog app to find source of errors with the camera. I'm assuming that you have checked the permission files in your base Rom to match the ones from the port.
well maybe the problem is with the permission
what i have to do exactly?
Check in system/etc/permission
Look for any that you might have missed...
Also check in system/lib/hw
Make sure you have a file in there
camera.semc.so
there is no camera.semc.so in both port and base
and no missed permission
i found that there is a folder in system/usr named semc in the rom im going to port but we dont have that on stock rom(and there is a folder named camera in that folder and there are some .dat files in it)
Try using those for the camera.
Some apps r hidden in /system/customization/applications I think, most OEM's put some apps here... Also if running windows do a simple index search for "camera" in most folders or system folder to find it
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app
i dont why but in windows 8 that thing is not working
and i used that files but they didnt help too
Did you try to install/replace camera.apk from another (stock gb) play rom?
im trying it now
i tough i have have done that before but i 90% i haven't now
sorry for my bad english
wow it worked
tnx to everyone that helped me here(i will give a credit every one on this thread)
the only things that i need to change is that to delete that apps then the rom is ready
im doing the final tests and i will release it as soon as possible

Which LIB's I must add?

Hello,
I made a ROM based on RUU 2.22.401.1 from HTC One V (ICS 4.0.3, Sense 4.0). ROM is booting, but a lot of things is not working. I haven't a calibration screen (rotation isn't working), mobile network and wifi also not working. Camera is working strangely.
I know that I must add LIB's. Can someone tell me which LIB's I must add to this ROM?

[GUIDE] ROM Tweaking

What you will need:
Basic tools
- Notepad++
- ZIP manager tool like 7zip
Advanced tools
- Cygwin
- smali (assembler/disassembler)
- APKTool/APK Multi-tool
Lets Begin:
Download a ROM (we use CM in this guide) of your choice (don’t forget to get the permissions for it modding from the developer) and extract it. When you extract it, you will see at least two folders and one file
Folders
- system
- META-INF
Files
- boot.img [this is not present in defy/defy+ ROMs so don't worry about it ]
NOTE THAT I AM ONLY GIVING DETAILS ABOUT THOSE FOLDER WHICH YOU CAN REMOVE/EDIT
THE \system\bootmenu\2nd-boot\ FOLDER
In this folder you'll find the kernel [zImage] file of the ROM here you can change it with the one you compiled or by others.
The Tts folder
The ‘TTS folder’ is all about Text-To-Speech. It contains all the files needed by the Android system to get Text-To-Speech working. If you are removing the TTS feature from your ROM, make sure you remove this entire folder and the TTS related apps from the ‘system folder’, as this will save a lot of space.
The WiFi and Usr folders
The WiFi folder contains the drivers required by the WiFi module to function. So i strongly recommend NOT to touch this folder. If you delete any file from this folder, you will mess up the WiFi functionality.
The usr folder contains some miscellaneous but very important stuff. It may contain anything and everything needed by the Android operating system. For instance, this folder contains all the key-mapping. If such files are messed with, your device will be non-functional although it will boot.
The Build.prop
The build.prop file is pretty self-explanatory. Here, you can change the most basic things, like the android version that setting shows. Wondered how people are making 2.3.4 look like 4.0.3 in settings? Its build.prop. Also, you can change what ‘About phone’ shows here.
Other things, you can change things like, how long your wifi scans, how much battery your phone saves while in sleep, Dalvik VM heapsize and default ringtones. If you are wondering what # stands for, it signifies that, the particular line is commented out, and the system does not read it. You can use it add comments to the build.prop. This helps others understand, what is the function of a particular tweak.
A guide for some basic build.prop tweaks can be found here.
Please be aware that, these build.prop modifications are not universal. So, you will have to experiment with the tweaks and their values.
The META-INF folder
This folder contains instructions for the Android Recovery about how to work with the files present in the zip. This folder contains many folders, but the only one we need to edit is the update-script file.
Making Flashable ZIP
In order to create a flashable zip, first zip the ‘system, META-INF’ folder and the ‘boot.img’. Let’s name this zip as ‘update.zip’. Next we need to sign the zip. Get a signer here. Put your update zip in the same folder as the signer. Then run the ‘signer.bat’ file. This will sign your zip file. After the signing process is complete, you can change the name of the zip to your liking.

[Solved] [help] [Deodex] Stock rom 6.0.1 Deodexed

I have been able to deodex my stock rom using TickleMyAndroid tool (it can be found on xda )
Some of 32bit apps could not be deodexed so i had to do it manually (like Bluetooth.apk)
Just saying if anyone need it i can tell the steps
Sorry i can't upload because i have a slow connection
And i need help with something
After deodex some symlinks seems to be broken like this file
/system/lib/libbluetooth_jni.so
I have to copy it to
/system/app/bluetooth/lib/arm
to get the bluetooth working
Any idea what's going on?
