I know I read it somewhere, but, can't find it now.
I'm going a concert tomorrow in Charlotte (I live in VA) and I won't be able to charge my phone again until Sunday.
So, my question is : Are the HTC Hero and HTC Evo batteries the same? Meaning I could just use my old hero battery once the original died without issue?
Thanks guys

You're welcome. And yes, it's always better to be 100% sure on something. But yep, both batteries are identical. 1500mah, same size, same terminal configuration. You shall be good to go.

I have been wanting to purchase spare batteries and a charger and was wondering if anyone had bought this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-x-1750m...890258?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item336fcabf12
Does anyone know if the batteries are official? I'd prefer them to be, but can live without if necessary.
The seller has positive ratings so even if they aren't official I am presuming they are good?
Thanks in advance.
Have this on order, will get back to you when they arrive!
Read the Samsung on the battery the a is clearly a v def not oem, not worth the risk

Don't feel bad, I didn't either. My niece is hanging out with me (she's 6) and when attempting to read the Samsung logo she noticed it

You have this product(s)? How are they?
Hey,
I bought a Galaxy Nexus here in Vietnam and just realized that it is running a custom rom and has been rooted. The phone was new (no scratches and had the original plastic covering the screen)... My friends here tell me that iPhones are often sold jailbroken so I was wondering if this is normal here??? English is a major challenge so I'm not sure if I will be able to get more information from them...
Everything seems to be working totally fine... just curious.
Post a screen shot of settings/about phone. Do you have superuser apk installed?

Here you go...
Superuser is installed.
Not sure why the picture didn't work... here is a link.
In Vietnam beware of the originality of the phone. It's easy to reseal the phone/box/accessoires,etc.
Definitely they sold you an used item. Go back to the store to get a refund or exchange for real new one.
Hope it helps.

I agree, the OP got sold a used phone.
yeah, i was probably used, or possibly a refurbished phone.
i head of people getting a Certified like new replacement (refurbished) HTC thunderbolt that was rooted with a sense 3.5 ROM on it.
but the phone is def. not a NEW phone from samsung. also, being rooted, who knows what kind of tracking stuff could be on that phone. i would take it back and do the rooting process yourself just to make sure.

Eh, you could always just reflash the factory image instead. That'll pretty well get rid of anything that could be installed on the phone.
Or use fastboot -w to wipe it all and then reflash whatever you want to be on it.
Assuming all the hardware works, of course.

I suppose the OP is in Hanoi Vietnam.
Do you like the food ?
either you paid a very good price and the phone works perfectly, in this case just flash a full official image. You can find them on code.Google.com
Either you paid the full price for a new one or it doesn't work or look fine, in that case I would go back to the shop and ask for a real new one or a refund

Hey guys, edit your post so that the link to the pic is off of it. As stated, you can see his other pics through that link and I'm sure he doesn't want that.

Sorry I don't want to bother the OP's life. It' that because I'm from Hanoi too and I miss My hometown.
Thanks guys.... I'm going to head down there today and find out what they say. I'm hoping that they happened to get the extended battery in too!

the GSM extended battery was just now released in the UK so i doubt it will be in stores anywhere yet
Ahh... Well they are saying that there is no way it came rooted and I'm SOL. And this is Vietnam so there is really nothing I can do about it.... Bah. Its working well so I have no complaints really.
Thanks everyone for the input on this.

If the hardware is working fine then you can just unroot and flash back to stock and you'll be all good.

What is the store's name ? street ?
or, better yet. leave it rooted and install Adfree, Titanium Backup, RM, CWM, WiFi tether etc.... Unlock the bootloader right away while you're at it (since it'll do a wipe/reset) and then go flash some roms!
I'm looking for a new battery for my HTC Desire but not sure which one to get.
Could someone please post some suggestions?
Got £5 in my paypal so that's my limit really don't really want an expensive battery.
Cheers
£5?!
that's barely enough to cover the shipping costs ^^ add 5 to 10 more and then we can talk.
Yeah, used oem battery will probably perform better than new £5 pos.

Read this, it's a thread for that. That 94% is fake and you'll see why. After calibration I got 83% of real battery age.

You have a link there to nexus one thread and the process is the same, even eaiser with AOSP rom cause every kernel is calibration friendly. Only difference is that you have to use stock battery calibrator app (for N1) not the one from the thread. I tried to do itbseveral times with sense rom and didn't manage to do it. At the end I flashed cm7 and did it. Just read the thread carefully and follow the steps exactly as posted, it's very important.

Dear Buddy, Regard on your question, i think the most simple way is you find a repaire shop around your house, the repaire shop owner must be know the battery you need. so you don't need ask others else.:silly:

i know what battery i need just not sure which one to get, some dont last very long need someone who has bought one of ebay or amazon before
if you really want a new battery, i'd say get an htc original one..My experiences with cheap replacement batteries weren't all that great..
i recently bought a new battery made by hama. stumbled across it when i was looking for a new headset. it performs really good so far even though it only has a capacity of 1270 mAh (still lasts for a good 5 hours of non-stop usage). it was rather cheap, cost me 13,99€ if i remember correctly.
Hey guys. So i purchased the Hyperion 4200mAh battery, but um, funny story, i didnt really put it through the charge cycles because i thought it wouldnt matter but now i realize it does.
So my question is, since it adjusts to the kernel, could i flash a new kernel, and put that through the charge cycles? Would that work? or am i just dreaming?
Any help is appreciated guys! THANKS:laugh::fingers-crossed:

I've heard it makes up a bit for the lack of charge cycles but doesn't function nearly as well as it was originally supposed to. I've never owned one so I can't give a definite answer. Hopefully someone who has owned one and tested it will come across this thread and can give you a more definite answer. This is all I can tell you honestly. Aside from doing some research on that, it looks like you've got some experimenting to do lol.

Welp, my battery went completely bad on me. I need a replacement, but I can't use Amazon, nor Ebay unfortunately. Anyone know any LEGIT places to buy one? The Sprint website does't seem to sell them either. Thank you for your time.

Not the best of options but I'm 95% sure they will have something that works. (batteries plus 'link below')
Hopefully you'll have one in your area. AFAIK they are all over the US.
