A different kind of topic I know...
I wanted to know if there was any safe way to remove the T-mobile logo on the back side of the screen, and the "my" emblem on the front of the screen right under the head piece.
They kinda bother me, considering I'm AT&T
Wouldn't the more pressing issue be that you won't get 3G on AT&T?

I don't have a data plan, so it doesn't matter to me anyway.
As a college student, 90% of the time I'm in a wifi area. So it doesn't really make sense to have data on the go. Plus I'm broke
Regarding removing the T-Mobile branding, you can get a backplate that doesn't have the myTouch logo on it--just a clean white/black/red backplate, seen them on Amazon and at T-Mobile stores, too.
The little myTouch logo on the front would be much harder, and the T-Mobile branding on the back of the screen portion could be easily blanked out with a bit of sanding and spraypainting.

i don't think it needs to be sanded off in the back...
It's only a printed logo, so it should be able to come off with minimal to no damage. Sanding and spray painting seem like much more trouble than it's worth...
i was asking about that, because i know there's a trick out there to scrape off the logo with sugar cubes. Sugar is abrasive enough to take off the logo, but not enough the scratch the phone surface. Was wondering if it would work on my slide as well...
Well, since it's not abrasive enough to scratch it, might as well give it a shot! Worst case it doesn't take the label off.

Does it come with a screen protector????????? If it doesn't then I should of ordered one in advance!
Let me know.
Came with only one screen protector behind the manual and the CD
Good! Do you think it's reusable? I don't want to put it on and then find out I have a faulty device after a few days.
The Tmo Rep put mine on for me. He must be new, though. He had no clue the TP2 came out today, i had to tell him. alskdjf. and when he tried to put the screen protector on, he looked like if he was trying to do NeuroSurgery or something. so now i have a big air bubble running down the entire left side of the device. and on top of that, when he tried to take the battery cover off, he tried to PRY it off the device. WTF?! it really is not that hard AT ALL to take the cover off. Right? i was a little stunned when he tried to do that. But everythings fine.
Yeah usually when I get a device from the store they try to do everything for you. I would have to say no it's ok I got it. Then they would just put it in the bag and I would leave.
i got my tp2 today, and it came with factory plastic screen protector, took me half an hour to realize why i couldnt hear volume on calls.. realized the one that comes with the phone has the top speaker completely SEALED/blocked off... then theres an extra screen protector that came with the phone in the box, that one has preholes for buttons + speaker.. it took a quick 2minutes of finesse to put it down without any air bubbles, i found this quite easy after realizing they had good stick, just do it slowly
where can i get extra protectors? didnt put mine on very straight.
where are you guy's getting the TMo TP2? Doesn't show on their website yet
Showed up for me on Tmo sites last night: I went to a Tmo store to get one cause I didn't want to wait for shipping. Walmart.com also carries the full line of TMo phones.
As for screen protectors, I like Invisi-shield from Zagg. They protect very well and add a non-slip surface. I just hate the idea of dropping my $800 (HD) phone.
You can call T-Mobile to order your TP2. For the screen protector, I like "bestskinsever". I use them for every device I had.
I ordered mine from Brando, Honkong. I use have their SP on my HD. It was the BEST ones I have seen thus far. But I am not sure if the one I ordered will fit the TP2, as on the Engadget review, I saw fromt he Pics that the Europe TP2 size is a bit differnt to the Tmo USA ones. I should be getting it in a day or 2. I will update once I have it.
it comes whit a screen protector , just look for it in the box where the manual is. (TMO TP2)
Day 31.....the bottom will peel!
Buy a screen protector....the complimentary one is better than nothing at all.
Patiently waiting for "Write Shields" to come out with one. Excellent quality, been using since Kaiser.
I ordered a Zagg for mine - the one in the box is serviceable, but IMHO not what you want. I've been an "Invisible Shield" fan for a long time.

Try your stylus, it's probably jammed in there now. You can't remove the case without removing the stylus first! Otherwise something gets bent inside. I bet the T-Mo Rep didn't know that, and now you gotta return the phone for a new one.
But, LOL, that's why my phone volume was so quiet!! I still have the factory screen protector on it, which covers the speaker, as someone said! LOL.

I disagree (At least w/the USA version)...read the following thread again (before your post): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547538
The cover tabs are not even in the same plane as the stylus...Although I will agree that the T-Mo Rep may have broken a tab while cranking the cover off, causing it to fall in the adjacent stylus slot...

Yea, I read that. That's what hinted me off that the stylus was damaged. And obviously it did get damaged due to the back case, because it's barely removable.

Just a quick check, but does your back cover still have two tabs on each side, and one towards the bottom (middle)? Not sure if it's you or josh_prayyforplagues that was having the stylus problem tho...
I am getting a G2 from the US and was wondering if there was a way to physically remove the T-Mobile logo from the top of the display. Not too big of a deal but we don't have T-Mobile here and I don't like branding anyway.

Wet sanding the inside of the screen should do the job, but that is a little drastic. I suggest using a case that covers that area -- like this: http://www.amazon.com/Skinomi-TechS...WY/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1291046090&sr=8-10
The logo is on the inside of the glass? That sucks I guess I will learn to live with it. I don't want to sand it and I do not want to cover the entire phone with a case like that either, I like the look of the phone.
Cheers for the response though
Black sharpy! Its a black background there anyway just dont cover the sensors to the left.

Ok, So I really wanted the new Samsung Galaxy S2 (Euro) because it has the white with that iphone look but much cool-er.
But forking out that money is a no no.
So after looking I found a white glass for the vibrant along with the white bezel you will get a 1 of a kinda white vibrant!!!!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/White-Outer...985?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cbeda8621
I just purchased it last night. I will purchase the white housing when I get back home and will see how it goes.
If anyone has this already please let me see some pictures
Ooh, update us on how that works for you. I know how to replace bezel/housing, but I don't know how to do JUST the glass since I think the digitizer is literally glued on. Pictures too! (My reaction to the EBAY listing: Holy ****ing ****! GAAAAAASP!)
If yours works out, I'm so getting one! I really wanted to updated to the S2 as well purely for aesthetic reasons but I heard it doesn't work well with Tmo 3g ):
I am interested in this too. Please get back to us and let us know how it went. I have broken glass and this would be the cheapest fix.
Glad that you're trying this as I kinda want to also. I've heard that the OLED and Digitizer are glued on so you can't just try to pry it off.
If I were trying it, I would try to take an exacto knife blade and cut carefully (oh so carefully) through the glue instead of trying to peel up the screen, which is really fragile. Do you have any kind of plan?
Unfortunately, there isn't much information out there on taking the screen glass off without replacing the whole screen so any info you can give will help out a lot of people who are interested in replacing cracked/scratched glass as well.
Best of luck and please let us know how it turns out!
i will be interested too please someone make a video
Well, One of my co-workers is going to do the job for me. I saw him tackle an IPhone 4 screen replacement too. I have in the past did replace some phone screens on a mytouch and mytouch 4g.
I will see about getting detailed pictures when he does the job. I'm going to be researching it here on out too. Downside is the time it takes to get here!!!!!
Do what you can about tutorial, video or pictures, what ever it may be. I saw this a bought one immediately. I already have a nice back cover in white that has Samsung and Powered by Google on it, so thought this would be an excellent pair.
Let us know
Is it even possible to just replace the glass without the digitizer? I thought it was almost a single unit and you would have to replace both.
I would really like to know.
Just to let you guys know, the listing looks like it has a hole for the FFC. It would be a problem for those with it, but it might irk those without it.

That's nothing a little dab of white paint couldn't fix.
...also, why would it be a problem for people WITH the front facing camera? Seems ideal to me.
Seeing as the glass/digitizer-lcd is nearly impossible to separate with both intact, I was just thinking of gluing the glass to a screen protector, then applying that on the phone. Finish off with a hard case or silicone that covers the bezel (and a little of the phone so it also covers the edge of the glass (which I'm sure will be raised higher due to just putting it on top), and voila!
Having this succeeded would seriously help. I'm this close to just getting the Intl SGS2, but ahh, it wont work with Tmo past Edge .. ;_;
Anyone ever tried/seen a white bezel? Sand it down, paint it? I've seen a gold bezel, but that's about it. Wow, white and gold

You are saying that you'd have a screen protector on top of a stack of two screens? I'd say that's an idea you shouldn't pursue, one because you're going to ruin the quality of the image you see, and two, you won't be able to touch your digitizer on the lower screen. Screen no workie!
If you've got to have a white border and you're not willing to get the whole shebang replaced, I'd say go with some cut vinyl. That's the cheapest route (time and money investment) that you could take. It would be interesting to see a white bezel. (the white Samsung Fascinate was so nice!) It seems like it would be paintable once you scuff up the surface. I just decided to find a solid white tpu case and it looks great in it. Covers the bezel perfectly.

Hm, you're right. Didn't think about the screen quality after two glasses/protectors ;_; I've tried the vinyl cut-out but after a while, I started to really notice/feel the edge of the vinyl when I'm swiping things around. So I really want to try the glass lens.
I'm going to look up that solid white tpu! I've only ever seen transparent TPUs
So is there anyway to really use this?
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recieved the glass.
Now, I want to try this so bad but Im need to be smart about this or I won't have a working phone.
I need to try this on a non working phone. If anyone still has or knows anyone with a screen with glass that is broken. Please let me know.
I will try and remove the OLED screen from it and see if it can be done.
Ooh, can you post pictures? I want to see how thick the glass is
Ha, this sounds like quite the project. I'll be anxious to see photos.
And it would probably look something like this to get it done:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sT7wRXeYsyg
Too much work.
This mod wouldn't work unless you know how to attach a digitizer onto a glass screen, also check the listing again - the glass comes without a flex cable soldered on.
So i have managed to remove the logos from the back of my white Galaxy s3 by using sandpaper, wet sandpaper @ 2000 grit to be exact. Just thought id share what i did so if anyone else is meticulous like me they can do the same and have a blank back cover. All you need is 2000 grit automotive sandpaper bought from Ace hardware and some water make sure you take to battery cover off before submerging it in water.
WOW love the clean look I'm going to do this when i get home, think i got 2000 grit sandpaper in the house
you can also try a cube of sugar. its less abrasive so it wont leave any scratches, but it will take a bit longer.
heres the first link i grabbed from a google search

Did it in 3 minutes
Pretty sure that the majority of logo's are the same on the backs of phones when they're a printed logo.... which on my Motorola Atrix i believe were easily removed by gently rubbing at them with the edge of a penny... and it didn't leave a scratch.

Grab a quarter or something with a little rougher edge and gently scrape it, once a little comes off then the penny will work. I just did it.

According to this post, you can rub off the Beats logo on the back with alcohol, nail polish remover, or 100% acetone. I have tried nail polish remover, but it wasn't strong enough. 100% acetone should work, which I am going to try next. I got 16 ounces for $2.50 at Walmart.
How many of you have rubbed off the logo this way? Has anyone's just rubbed off over time? Do some people want to keep the logo?

I think I am going to take mine off soon. Pieces of the "audio" look to be chipped away so I am sure it will look better if I remove it completely. I hope it doesn't look weird when its gone since the Verizon logo is above it and will leave a small gap. Wish I could take the Verizon logo off with it, but that is not possible since it is etched in. Please take pics when you do it!
While it's not for everyone, using a dbrand (or any) skin for the back cover is a pretty effective way to get rid of the nasty logos on the backside. That being said, I totally understand why some would want to revel at the beautiful backside that is the metal HTC One.

Doesn't bother me at all. I don't think I would every intentionally change the look of my phone due to resale. Many people want what it looked like out of the box (as best as possible). The logo isn't much of a change, but still a change.
