Hi, I am trying to send and receive photos with my HTC P3300 running WM 6 Pro.
This machins just refuses to do it, I just get a message saying something about "do you know that this connection will be closed down if you do this?" which disappears within two seconds giving me barely time to read it. I've answered yes and no with little difference.
I think it's to do with MMS, which I don't really understand. Could it be that my sim card doesn't support MMS? I'm on an O2 payg.
Can anyone help me get this photo sending to work? Thanks
Hi to All,
I have few questions to you regarding messaging – sending SMS and emails. I miss form my previous phones confirmation that SMS was delivered to the recipient. In Nokia it works like that the info is being displayed 5 seconds and then disappears. Quite similar it works in Sony Ericsson. In TP 2 I’ve manage to have so called report that the message was delivered which has form of SMS, which must be deleted like a regular SMS. Is there any other option to know that the message was successfully sent or was delivered?
Next issue I have encountered is lack of progress bar while I’m sending emails. If the email has attachment the sending process might take a while. In all phones I used to have there was some kind of progress bar while I can’t find anything like that in TP2 email application. This is annoying because I don’t know if there is progress of sending. Anyone has solved that problem?
And the last thing which I have noticed when using email application is attaching files. If the file is located in subfolder of the main folder it’s impossible to get access to it. Then it’s necessary to start operation with File Explorer (with which I have access to all folders) and use of Send as email function and then edit the email content. Not very logical.
All you thoughts and ideas are very welcome!
Have a nice day!
Max
PS. I’ve started to thinking about switching to Nokia N900 which seems to be more logical and intuitive in terms of software.
Right now, I have a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 purchased before Thanksgiving day and it still has stock ROM and never tampered with. A week ago though, I started seeing that my message thread in HTC TouchFLO has been flowing out of order. My texts would start to thread in a group with my other text inputs while my recipient would have their text at the very bottom. When I scroll to texts before a week it is fine and in the right chronological order. When I expand my messages to the Windows text thread, everything is fine.
Does anyone know what's going on and how this can be fixed?
date change
When you receive messages does it say its from 2016? it would go something like this 1/7/16. If thats the case I know on ppc geeks there is a registry edit that you can download and run. I don't know if they have it here or not. Hope that helps!
Yeah, actually it does. I noticed that a few days ago and forgot. Thanks! I'll give it a try and tell you how it works out.
Hey guys,
Picked up a desire yesterday and its great, though I'm having some issues with sms. I notice I don't receive any texts until I send a text first, then I'll receive 2 or 3 texts, timestamped in the past, up to an hour ago!
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks.
edit: unrooted on o2
i get a similar problem, i know i should have received a text message but it doeant show up for hours.
unrooted on tmobile uk
Most likely when your phone is connected over GPRS the text don't come through till you disconnect, used to happen on my N95.
So if my phone is operating in GPRS mode, until it decides it doesn't need the internet anymore and disconnects, it won't retrieve texts... right. So any workarounds or fixes for this?
Prety much, after I use GPRS I just made a call and during or after the call my text came in.
Been getting this all day, are people really just dealing with this or is it only a few people that have this issue?
I am having another problem... on T-mobile, my phone won't download MMS messages. It will just say Download error, General Network Failure... After it expired (3days) , I was sent a link to the T-mobile website, where I am able to see it for 14 days.
Another problem that I am having, the phone is struggling sending long text messages... 4 or 5 normal lenght messages 500-600 characters... I am using the Text App provided with the phone.
I have a problem that I dont think is an actual problem I think its just how the phone works, and tbh its a bit rubbish.
If you dont have signal when you hit send (im my office at work I only get signal on a little square of the desk) the phone says "message not sent". Sometime when it gets signal it will send the message, but if it doesnt get signal quick enough it seems to just give up sending.... a bit lame really....
I'm going to post a message up with the T-mobile UK MMS settings so people in future can find it on search. Have a look in 5 mins.
JAmes.
I've got the same issue with my HTC Desire.
My operator is a Belgium one, namely Mobistar.
I've got the impression that when i open the sms box, i start seeing the messages. Don't know if it's the communication that goes wrong, or the 'throughput' in the phone (screen, alerting...).
After installing (and using of course) chompSMS, this problem is gone... yipppie...
