HI guys,
I've got a desire HD, downgraded, perm-rooted and with Radio S-OFF.
I was following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855403 in order to obtain ENG S-OFF on my device but even i've i'ce checked the "I've s-radio off", the tool keep saying "connection problem".
My pc is running under windows 7 64 - and I've installed HTC sync 3.0.5481.
Any ideas how i should proceed?
Even if i've got this error message may i reboot the device?
Thanks for the response
Never mind, I've managed to find the solution by myself.
I've simply downloaded again the tool, restart the pc and then followed again the procedure.
Now the device is with ENG S-OFF.
Thanks anyway

PLEASE DEAR FRIENDS HELP ME.
have u tried flashing your rom again?
You are trying to unbrick it with a Ruu update right? You did it right in the FastBoot, the problem was that you need something called "Goldcard" with the goldcard the RUU will let you update your phone...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145035 ...check the info in the link, it's explain there how to s-off, root, INTALL RUUs and create GOLDCARS
i hope this will help you
Im trying to fix what i believe is a USB brick on my desire. Ive tried 5 different cables on 4 different computers and all i get in device manager is 'unknown device'.
Ive found a guide for the usb brick fix (http://www.roms-au.com/installation/extras/fixing-usb-brick/) but it requires a step where i root the phone using rageagainstthecage-arm5.bin, it looks like it works, then the terminal app locks up when i try to do the next step, i cant gain temproot. Im guessing thats because you cant root 2.2.2 - 3 branded?
Anyone know how i can gain root access without using USB? i have an SD card that im able to put files on through an adapter then i can place this back into my phone.
Is it possible to downgrade without root & usb?
the phone is 3 branded (uk)

UPDATE:
im still just as stuck, but now im on android 2.3.3 (software number 3.14.405.1).
All im trying to do is sim unlock this dam phone! and install a custom rom. Ive been doing this for 3 days now
My CID is H3G__001 if that helps?
So i cant connect via USB at all, not even in fastboot. I need to gain root to be able to do the USB fix, but i cant get root on this rom. I dont know if its even possible to downgrade without a USB cable... Im also unable to get my CID number to make a goldcard, i think, CID checker shows H3G__001 but the goldcard guide i was following showed the CID as a long set of numbers.
Can anyone think of a way out of this circle?!
No one have any advice i bought this phone for my grandad, he cant wait to use it.

Hey guys,
I got a problem, that I can't root my Desire again, and I don't know why.
My Desire was once rooted, but I unrooted after installing the original RUU 2.2. version of android, After that, I installed 2,3,3 version, but I can't boot it. It shows me some black screen on boot.
I updated to HBOOT 1.0.3.003 with the official ruu upgrades. Now I can't get back on track and root it again with revolutionary (cause it supports only 2 older hboot versions).
Tried with unlocking the bootloader from htcdev, not completing the final step with copying the code because it showed no one at cmd prompt.
My phone is now *** LOCKED (OOW) *** in the bootloader.
I'm stuck at rooting process, want to install some great ROMs, but I can't. PLEASE HELP GUYS, i really appreciate you!!!
Search for how to downgrade hboot 1.03, tutorial out there somewhere
Then try revolutionary again

I found some tutorials about downgrading hboot 1.03, but it was with creating a golden card to my sd. Is there any way that creating gcard is not necessary ?
Hi all,
I am trying to root my stock HTC desire HD phone using the HTC easy unlock bootloader tool (also tried directly from HTCdev and easy ace root tool).
I get stucked right in the beginning: when trying to get my unlock token i get an error:
[ERR] Command error
I am on build 3.12.405.2
I am on HBOOT 2.00.0027
While searching for a solution I found out that there might be a problem with the HBOOT version (although version above 2.00. should be working, isnt't?), so I tried to update HBOOT. Tried updating with RUU, which gave an error that i was on version 3.12.405.2, while i should have been on version 3.12.405.1, so than I extracted PD98IMG.zip from the .exe and have put it on the root of my SD card, booted in Bootloader, but no update occured.
Now I am stucked and have no idea what to do next,
- should i still update my HBOOT and if so, how??
- is HBOOT not the problem and is there another solution?
Please help, thanks a lot,
xx LittleGirl

The best is to create a goldcard and flash a RUU with a main version supported by HTCDEV. Then update the hboot and finally unlock the bootloader.

Hi All,
finally figured it out:
Fist update your HBOOT 2.00.0027 to 2.00.0029 following the small part in this link: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f66...-os-s-off-change-imei-cid-hxc-dongle-1548982/
after that: you can continue with unlocking trough HCTdev, than flash clockworkmod recovery, than activate superuser and than go on however you want! (i installed the rom manager app)
xx

thanks a lot Glevitan, i was hoping a would get an answer from you . Eventually i didn't need to create a goldcard, just updating HBOOT using the link in my post above was enough to be able to continue!

That is just fine. But not for everyone..you gain tempo root to downgrade the main version and then flash GB rom. That is a nice move.
Hello everyone, i just got an old HTC Wildfire from my aunt and decided to root it and make it a useful secondary phone... the problem i ran into is the fact that it has HBOOT 0.80.0002.
I cant seem to figure out how to root it. I tried the full guide to rooting and de-branding but i got stuck first i tried to just use revolutionary, but that only supports hboot 1.01.0001 or something like that and then i tried to downgrade it (what u are supposed to do for 1.2.0002 hboot) but that didnt work either since i got stuck trying to create a goldcard image. Well i actually got the goldcard (found a functioning website online put in my CID and got the gold card, but the prtoblem was that i couldnt patch the mmc)
So anyone got any help for me? or a tip what tutorial i could try.
Phone info:
HTC Buzz (wildfire)
Hboot 0.80.0002
Radio 3.35.19.25
S-on
Firmware 2.1-update 1
Thanks for the help

If you run the unrevoked program it will root your phone with your current hboot. You could also consider working out your phones cid, (not the one from your goldcard) And then you could look for the correct update ruu. Upgrade to hboot 1.01.0001 and then use revolutionary and gain full s-off

Ok, unrewoked worked the second time around tried it before i posted here, but it stopped at pushing recovery image... i guess it must have been HTC sync (yeah forgot i had that instaled on this pc) when i uninstalled it as the software told me to it worked just fine. Rooted with CWM thanks for the help
Ok guys, is this even possible? I used Unrevoked and it worked nicely and got my phone rooted (super user) and CWM installed... but i still have S-ON... am i missing something here? should i flash something to get S-OFF or what? really confused right now...
Thanks.

Unrevoked never removed s-on, it used a root exploit to gain superuser access, install superuser and then flash a custom recovery. Revolutionary, which is a conjunction of team unrevoked and alpharev was the next step, after the upgrade to hboot 1.xx.xxxx unrevoked exploit no longer worked, so they found another I believe and forced a hacked bootloader into the phone, making it believe it was s-off even though the radio flag was still set to on confusing I know
so revolutionary s-off is from a patched hboot, and the xtc clip gives full radio s-off. The only real difference is that with xtc clip s-off you can remove SIM lock, but with the patched hboot you cannot, as the radio which houses the security (for all intents and purposes) is still set to on. The patched hboot just tells the hboot to ignore what the radio says and believe it is s-off all the time.
But before I ramble on you should be good to go with your hboot, but you may need to upgrade your recovery, in order to do this I believe you will need root and to flash the recovery by using a script called flash. I'll look Into it for you or, you could try the clockworkmod recovery app to flash the new recovery, you want 5.0.2.0 preferably
