Friend of mine rooted her phone with Unrevoked 3.3x, and there's now an "x" above the network signal meter showing there's no access to the network.
She has the superuser icon now, Im assuming that she's rooted and GTG on that end.
There's no access to the phone, cant dial #228, nothing.
Suggestions?
Thanks!
Try shutting down, pulling battery, reboot phone maybe?
Tried it, NADA.
Well, the only thing I can think of to try is to either: flash the RUU to return back to stock and start over; or download and flash another ROM through ClockworkMod Recovery to see if that makes a difference.

toggle "airplane mode"?
go into settings > wireless & network settings and then mobile networks and turn it off. then go back and turn on airplane mode. reboot and turn off airplane mode and turn on you network again and see if that forces it back on. please report back
I ended up putting another ROM on it, CM7.0 and the bars came back after making sure that it was listed as having access to the network via the airplane option.
Thanks guys, I ( and she ) appreciate the effort.

Hi guys, first post for me here, im having major problems with my desire.
I was opening a zip file on my phone to change the font on it, and followed the instructions for a restart, upon restarting the phone the usual pink circle appeared in the centre of the screen (presumably because im on t-mobile), eventually this circle goes off, as it normally does, and i was expecting the t-mobile logo to appear as per usual, however the phone just restarted and the pink circle appeared again and kept doing this until i took the battery out the back to turn it off, when i turned the phone on again it just did the same thing.
I tried removing the sd card and the sim card but still made no difference. Im a bit of a noob at this type of thing so any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Im a UK resident on t-mobile, im using a rooted phone.
I also tried a factory reset but this didnt work either, any help you can give would be a major help as i really miss my phone
Hi, try to do a full wipe trough recovery (hold vol down and power on), follow the onscreen instructions. If it doesn't work, try flashing the stock rom - t-mobile - http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bra...00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127570_signed.exe
post if you come across problems
sorry as mentioned before, i am a noob, what do u mean by flashing?
ooops, sorry and welcome to xda
first download the rom in the link, it is an official t-mo rom, then connect your phone with the PC, make sure usb debugging is on (settings\applications\development you should have a green thick). Then start the exe and follow the onscreen instructions. Unfortunately you might need a goldcard which is a bit more complicated , that is if you get an error.
are you sure your phone is rooted? If that's the case power down, then power on while holding vol down, then navigate to "recovery" by pressing volume down, when you enter recovery look for "wipe device" "factory reset" or "full wipe", do it and see if you are alright then
try the second method first, with the recovery
hi thanks for the reply, i tried doing the full wipe on the phone unfortunately that didnt work. When trying to run the rom it says it cannot connect to the phone and i cant get into the phone to turn on debugging as it wont load up. this to me seems like it might be terminal unless you experts have any other advice.
Sometimes, when flashing an update ZIP, the framework might be wrong for your ROM and cause it to go into a bootloop (which it appears yours is doing).
Flashing the stock ROM is probably the best way, just need to get the correct RUU for your phone, make sure HTC Sync is connected and then run the file. If you can't turn the phone on the get HTC Sync to connect, turn off the phone and turn it back on whilst holding the back button to get into FASTBOOT. Connect to your PC again and then once it says FASTBOOT USB try again and it should work
It worked!! Thank you so much for helping me out guys, i really appreciate it!!
My wifi keeps turning off after every half hour or so if I'm not using the phone. Iv tried changing kernels and Roma and yet the same problem comes back after about a week after installing a new rom. I've since downloaded a radio from here and tried installing from zip via recovery but it just says error in installation. Any idea where I'm going wrong ?
Last i checked (which was a while back) you can not flash a radio via recovery, it has to be done via ADB or PD98.zip. The topic from where you got the radio should have stated this.
Also more to the point of your original problem, have you tried looking in wifi settings to see if it has a sleep policy enabled or not ?
Settings>Wifi>(Press menu and Select Advanced) and there will be a tab that says something along the lines of "Keep wifi on During Sleep" and select "always".
Ha, never knew there was an advanced option. Why would it be on sleep after 15 minutes on default ? Thanks very much, that should fix that problem. I'm still having a few problems that is not changing with switching roms or kernels, such as having to press back about four times on dolphin browser before it actually returns to previous page, and slow rotate, slow performance, weak network signal etc, etc. Really think I could benefit from using a radio that actually matches the Rom I'm using.only issue is I have no volume button as it's fallen off so if I ever need to recover should anything go wrong, I won't be able to.

You will still be able to enter recovery ect and make you backups flash roms, by installing the clockwork recovery app from the play store, and boot to recovery that way, which if your volume is broke i am assuming that is how you are booting in to recovery either that or you have a rom which has that option attached to the power button, but you are right about the fact if you ever encounter a problem or boot loop.
You may want to get a replacement power rocker from ebay or that, either that if someone knows how to enter recovery with out a volume button which in a boot loop.
Dropped my phone too many times and now the power button doesn't work. I've been sliding out the keyboard to wake it up.
I tried using the CM9 'volume rocker to wake' feature but it doesn't seem to work most of the time. Specifically it only works when it's plugged in, or there is music/other app running in the background so I'm guessing my phone is sleeping too deeply to recognize it? is there a way to make it always work?
I've also had a few other deep sleep problems. Once in awhile my phone won't wake back up. After a night's sleep, I've had my phone freeze once the alarm activates (screen turns on and capacitive lights turn on but screen doesn't work and nothing helps except battery pull), this has also happened when I haven't used my phone in a little while and I get a phone call. Has anyone had this problem? It's especially horrible with my power button problem since I have no way to turn the phone back on after a battery pull without a charger on hand.
Finally, is there an easy way to fix the power button or should I just take it to Sprint?
Try reverting back to a stock rom or at least one based on stock and see if that works. If it doesn't then probably it's a hardware problem.
i can't get it into download mode to do anything (was originally going to revert to stock and take it to sprint). with the power button broken, i had to try adb reboot download and also reboot download with su from terminal emulator. both failed and just ended up doing a normal reboot...
anyone know how i can get into download mode to downgrade?

Use cwm to flash stock deodexed (using adb reboot recovery and the home button to select.

for some reason the stock deodexed fc09 failed to install in TWRP. tried redownloading, no luck. can't find anythign about it in the thread, any ideas?
still can't get it into download mode either, and now i can't even turn it on despite having a charger. it just turns green and i haven't found any combinations that will turn it on.

Remove battery and sd card hit the power button a few times to make sure it is fully discharged. Plug into computer with battery out and try to get into download mode. Also make sure you are using a BB cable and not the stock one.
luckily I took it to sprint and they fixed it for free even though it was on CM...
hi guys.
i had an accident with my bike on sunday and my phone seems to be f*cked since then. but let me explain:
well i had an accident and somehow fell on my phone, now there is bump in the plastic backcover and in the sd card slot underneath. it is quite deep, maybe 1.5mm. soon after that i realised that my phone is no longer connecting to mobile networks, the baseband is unknown, just like the imei. also the power/lockscreen button isn't working anymore as long as the phone is turned on (it works to turn it on or to access recovery/download mode. i was running jellybam 9.2.0 for weeks without any problem.
so after that i got home i first did a fullwipe and a reinstall of jellybam -> still same problem.
then i tried to enter download mode. i got to the "press volume up to continue, press volume down to restart"-screen and i pressed volume up -> nothing happend
so i went into cwm -> advanced (i think) -> restart bootloader. so now i was in download mode (the proper download mode)
at this point i thought it was a pure hardware problem because my wifi appeared to be not working too. i also thought that i might be able to claim warranty so i installed the N7100XXDMB2 firmware from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32273406&postcount=5
my wifi seems to be working now so i thought that i could just restore my EFS backup and it might all be fine again (except the bump) but i would have to root my phone to be able to do that and like mentioned before the download mode only works to a certian very useless point.
also i now have the stock recovery, which i can enter, but i can't select anything in there because my power button won't work.
to put it all in a nutshell: i have unknown baseband, unknown imei, a power button that stops working as soon as the device is turned on and also doesn't work in stock recovery, a volume up button that doesn't want me to access the download mode, an EFS backup which i'm unable to restore, no clue if it is a hardware or software problem and severe depression.
the attached picture shows where the bump is. it is quite deep, like mentioned before. made the sd slot completly unuseable.
i'm desperate, please help.
also: i was using the phone (making calls, internet) a few minutes before the bike accident
Well, if you're back to stock and you can claim warranty, then that's the best option.

What will happen if I put pie modem in stock A10 and flash, will it work or brick phone. After upgrade I am facing network drop issue. Any experts please advise.
My carrier (Optus in Australia) always kicks me off when I do an OTA. Something to do with all the reboots and TWRP I think...
Do a power cycle. Turn the phone off. Wait, turn it on again.
If that doesn't help, turn on airplane mode for at least an hour. You can use wifi, just not cellular.
