Occasionally my stock Mail for Android app Ver 2.00 balloons to 50mg of data for some unknown reason.
To clear it I do a data wipe under the Applications menu for the Mail app. However today, that option is "greyed out" to clear data. So I tried deleting all the email accounts which worked. However the application menu still shows 40.00 meg of data.
How do I clear this to regain some internal memory?

I am also needing this. My buddies is up to 247MB and there does not seem to be an answer out there.
Same problem here too, up to 119 MB of data with apparently no way to delete it.
Try wiping the data from titanium backup.....should be under the backup/restore tab.
HTC EVO 4G
I'm having the same problem. I can't get rid of 54mb of data through the clear data button. The button is simply grayed out. This seems to be a recent thing as I was able to clear it a while ago. Anyway, my inbox, trash, outbox and sent folders are all empty. I've force closed the mail app still nothing. Help.

As mentioned earlier, try wiping it through Titanium Backup. Or you can try to manually delete the data with Root Explorer.
Try wiping dalvik cache as well. I'm not sure if the dalvik cache is calculated in "manage applications", but it won't hurt anything.

Basically, every application I have installed on my phone shows as having no cache.
If I go into manage applications, and look at the applications cache it shows as zero for every application I have. The button to delete the cache is also greyed out.
Is this the same for everyone?
Thanks,

Recently i havent been able to log into the XDA app on my Xperia x10 I can log in fine to xda-developers.com but cant log into the app, does anyone know why this maybe the case and how to fix it.
Ive tried updating the app to the lastest version but still wont let me log in.
Thanks in advance.
Currently replying using Tapatalk, which is behind the core of the XDA App.

Menu, settings, applications, manage applications, select xda app, then clear data
All i get is "Uninstall", "Clear cache" which is greyed out and "Clear Defaults" which is also greyed out then "Force Stop" at the bottom?
EDIT: I just tried "Wipe Data" for the XDA app in Titamium Backup but that hasnt made any difference either.
Also tired logging in through my browser on my x10 which works fine and logged out again
I don't know when it it started, but my contacts just won't open, and even my dialer is difficult to open unless it is on the actual dial pad when closed last (if it's on logs, favorites, or contacts it also force closes whenever I try opening it). I was using Ready Contacts for a while, but I don't like it so I went back to my TouchWiz contacts and dialer to find they are all jacked up. I've tried clearing cache, manually force closing it, and clearing data, but nothing works.
Anyone know what would cause contacts to refuse to open? I'm on 4.4.2 NF9 rooted but otherwise stock.
Thanks.
I have exactly the same issue, any help would be appreciated

I just upgraded on the weekend. I did not have problems with contacts but had problems with Google services using to much battery.
I had to factory reset. You don't lose root, you will have to download it again.
Using Titanium back and restore data was problematic with apps like 3C Tool box that alter performance or permissions on your phone. I cleared my data for 3C and some force closes went away.
I was getting reboots when scrolling through some apps. Reinstalling 3C and resetting the data got rid of problems.
It is new firmware and sometimes it is better to reinstall apps than restoring them from backup.
I don't know if any of this will help. Just some thoughts from my experience.

Using xposed? First thought was the mod for showing a call icon in contacts list... if you are in a VoLTE area (and have it on) it FCs due to pointing to a non-existant image. Not sure it's the issue but figured I'd share.

That's probably exactly it, since it's intermittent, and seems to have started around the time I installed Wacom. I've disabled it and will see if the problem goes away. Thanks!
Used shredder data eraser app, and then the storage statrted filling up instead of going down. I tried to cancel the cleaning from the app but it wouldn't let me, so I deleted the app while it was still doing it's thing. The storage reached 96.5gb used data when I deleted it, and it's still like this till now even after re installing the app and doing the whole cleaning all over again. How do I fix this?
Storage used was 70gb before using shredder app.

search for folders in your internal storage, it might have filled in some folder.
For privacy reasons on every Samsung device I've ever had including the Note 10 I would remove Facebook and messenger accounts from the account screen everyday and would wipe the storage on the Facebook and messenger app and my user info would be cleared. Since getting the z-fold 3, when I do the above messenger still somehow shows the accounts that I have previously logged in with.
I have Samsung pass disabled and the only way to clear that information appears to be uninstalling messenger and reinstalling it. Facebook application manager is uninstalled and I answer no to the dual messenger prompts that pop up when logging in.
Does anyone know how messenger is retaining this information or what app might be doing it?
If you are for sure clearing all the data, then it must be server side
The ANDROID_ID value won't change on package uninstall/reinstall, as long as the package name and signing key are the same. Apps can rely on this value to maintain state across reinstalls

Maybe the app is still running so your account info is still in memory, or when one is cleared it copes the data to the other? Force stop both apps, then clear data?
How are you clearing the data?
If you are going into Apps -> Facebook -> storage -> Clear Data
There is a Package Manager app that somehow detects you are trying to clear its data and opens a special dialog to clear the data. I am at work and are not next to my test device but I will upload screenshots when I can.
If the force stop clear data doesn't work, then you could look at using Samsung Knox to clear the data.

Yes I'm first removing the account. Next I end the messenger task. Then I go to storage and clear the storage. Then I go to Facebook and end that task then I also clear that storage.
If it were server side, uninstalling and reinstalling the app shouldn't clear it so I don't think it's server-side. Doing the above method worked fine on my Note 10. There has to be some other samsung app on the fold 3 that is retaining that data.
You said you uninstalled the App manager, some devices have another system app called Facebook App installer. Maybe that one is present on your device?
That is my Fold 3 and Note 9

It's a pretty nasty and vicious virus that farcebook thingy!
And you reckon that Google or the keyboard don't keep track of your Facebook accounts? Usually Google retains my Facebook credentials, for fast log in.
