I'm running CM 7.0.2.1 running Tiamat newest kernel. The issue I am having is that I am trying to flash a different recovery with Rom Manager, rom manage downloads the recovery and says that it is flashed, only when I reboot into recovery I find that my Old recovery is still in place. I've tried flashing every recovery available with the same outcome. Is there something I am missing or is this a known bug?
thanks
If you're trying to flash an older version of clockwork, the ones listed don't work for the evo. if you wanted amon_ra, flash the file I uploaded in the bootloader.

Hello,
I use ROM Manager Premium v3.0.0.7 as a front end to ClockworkMod recoveries. ROM manager shows the current and latest recovery as version 2.5.0.7, but I know there are more recent versions of recovery out there v3+.
Also, in ROM manager, when I press the option to flash older and experimental recoveries, it lists versions 2.5.1.0 - 2.5.1.4!
Has ROM manager somehow got out of step with the recovery versions?
Thanks.
DZ
CM7 Nightly 01242011-Desire.
The last official recovery is the 2.5.0.7..The other recoveries are still in beta and in testing (the 3.0.0.5 r3 from Kali- should work good anyway)..But the 2.5.0.7 is still good to flash all the roms..
i tried to update ti 3.0.0.5 R3 and flashed the IMG file but i noticed some weiurd behaviours when falshing new roms.
so i put an older version 2.x.x.x onto my sd card and now "update" from 3.xxx to 2.xxx before flashing a new rom.
it seems that the V3 doesn't wipe al caches...
(when using SOFF via virtualbox-image you can install the latest funktional version of clockwork(v2.1.x.x))
i hope my experience can help you!
EDIT: some ROMS or updates need an V2 Manager to isntall correct because V3 uses a new scripsystem. IF you want to use V3 you shoud save V2 on your sd if a update has only the old script
Hello guys,
I rooted my WF with AlpharevX, I flashed then CM7 nightly build and yesterday CM7.1 RC1. Afterwards I realised that my GPS doesn't work. I wanted to reflash my radio, I have CMW 3xx, so it is not possible to flash it from recovery. I wanted to boot to recovery directly from ROM Manager, where I have 2.5.0.7, but when it reboots I receive only boot image, when I hit the power button I land in Recovery menu but it says, that it is 3xx version. I tried to reflash radio from there but of course I receive error message.
Have you any ideas, why it is like that?
I think, I could try to convert radio with amend2edify and then try to flash it from recovery, have someone tried this?
Reinstall CWM 2.x from ROM Manager. Someone tried to convert the radio file using Amend2Edify, and it didn't work.
Will help in booting to 2.x recovery.
Have u flashed 2.5.0.7 recovery from rom manager. If yes, it will be present in sdcard /clockworkmod/ downloads folder.
First boot into 3.x recovery then install zip from sdcard. Then choose zip from sdcard and selected the path and file. Then it gives 2.x recovery on the fly. And remember radio flashing is sensitive.

thx for answers
2.5.0.7 is present in sd/clockworkmod/downloads, so I try to flash it from recovery and then reflash radio. I know it is sensitive, but it seems that I don't have any other choice. I will reflash the same version that I have, so it shouldn't be harmful. then I will go back to newer CWM Version
done, GPS works
when im flashing my roms on my htc Wildfire i can only flash Cyanogen mod, does this have anything to do with having HBOOT 1.001.001?
I presume it gives you the Amend scripting error.
Download ROM manager
Click Flash recovery inside it
Wait
Click reboot into recovery
Flash from there.
but i already have clock mod inside it, is the version of clock mod too new? i think i have 3.2 or somthing
You need 2.5 for pre-gingerbread roms, kernels and radios.
And if you flash it from ROM manager, you can still get to 3.2 from the HBOOT and the 2,5 from rom manager.
so your saying to downgrade to the 2.5 clockmod firmware? because curently im useing 3.0 somthing
Clockworkmod recovery 3.x will install only gingerbread roms.
To install other things either directly flash 2.x recovery or flash 2.x recovery from Rom manager.
From Rom manager select flash recovery which flashes 2.x recovery on memory card relating to a file named update.zip. Then reboot to recovery from the option in Rom manager itself and you will have 2.x recovery. And if you wiped everything and in 3.x recovery, just flash that update.zip first which gives you 2.x recovery instantly for installing other roms.

thanks man! got it all worked out thanks for all the help people!
I am running Rom Manager Premium v4.3.2.4 cw recovery 3.0.0.8. ROM Manager does not see any updates for cm anymore and if I manually download it and try to install it all it does is boot to hboot, and does not install. Any suggestions would be grateful!!
I haven't used Cyanogenmod in months btw but I'll try helping out. Let me get this straight, have you ever been able to successfully flash and use any CyanogenMod 7.x nightlies? If not, make sure you have hboot .92 and latest Rom Manager/ClockWorkMod.
What is your wipe/install process? I have always used recovery to flash a rom (AOSP and Sense alike), always has worked fine in my experience. Have you followed the CM install directions (directly copied from CM7 Nightlies Progress 7.1 thread)
1) Download ROM with Rom Manager Premium.
2) Do not install with Rom Manager
3) Reboot into recovery.
4) Make a backup/nandroid (to be safe)
5) Wipe Cache
6) Wipe Dalvik
7) Install Zip from SDCard
8) Nightly at /sdcard/clockworkmod/download/mirror.teamdouche.net/get/inc/
9) /Gapps at sdcard/clockworkmod/download/goo-inside.me/google-apps/
10) Reboot
11) Enjoy
You should only be in hboot while installing when doing the following:
-turn your phone off
-hold power button & vol down
-boot into hboot
-Vol down to select then boot into Recovery
The way I read it, he was trying to install from rom manager but it was just booting into hboot. I'm not sure why it would do that instead of booting into recovery though. Like the above poster said, I'd install the rom manually. As for the rom manager problems, maybe try downgrading to a previous working version or contact the dev (koush) if the problem persists and there isn't another solution. I don't use rom manager so I'm not much help, sorry.
Sorry for the slow response but I was out of town for the weekend.
I have been able previously to update nightly's using rom manager.
Since getting home I downloaded latest nightly, rebooted into hboot, then to recovery attempted to do a nandroid but it hung, hit power button to go back to menu, tried to update from zip but hung again. The only option that it does not hang on is power off.
I have searched market for clockwork but only rom manager comes up, is there another way to reinstall clockwork recovery?
I have resolved this issue, I uninstalled ROM Manager, re-installed it, changed cw recovery to older version, re-flashed latest, and was able to install latest nightly.
Thanks for the help SlimSnoopOS and k_nivesout.
Glad you got it worked out. You can also download recoveries from www.dougpiston.com, they're PB31IMG.zip files that are flashed in hboot.

No problem, I'm glad we could help!
I want to flash the CM 12.1 to my T-Mobile Galaxy S III but I don't know where to download the gapps for the latest nightly here
i also dont know if T-Mobile is arm, arm64, or x86
so I cant download in this site from cynogenmod
another question- is it the Cyanogen Recovery from this link will be use to flash the ROM or it is the recovery that will be use after flashing the CM12.1?
Use the ARM gapps.
I recommend using either Philz Touch recovery or TWRP, both of which can be flashed using Odin.
I have never used Cyanogen's recovery but have had great success with Philz and TWRP.

thanks on your reply but I already solve it using the recovery from ROM manager app that I downloaded in the Play store but there is still a problem on it when I update using CyanogenMod updates it will fail to flash automatically after clicking install, so I still need to flash it manually, that's why I still need to flash the recovery provided with CyanogenMod
I have never used the recovery from cyanogen so I don't know if it will automatically dirty flash the update. I also don't know if the cyanogen recovery can flash other zips such as supersu, different gapp versions, etc.
Automatic flashing is not something I like to do because a nightly can cause problems. By using twrp, I can easily make a nandroid backup before flashing a new nightly.
Just tried the Cyanogen recovery and, after downloading a nightly update, I click install and it reboots to recovery and dirty flashes the updated ROM; however, the Cyanogen recovery would not flash the LP Gapps while Philz and TWRP were able to flash the Gapps. Also, the Cyanogen recovery does not have an option to create a nandroid backup.
