[Q] new to rooting

hi i need help i rooted my phone today unrevoked flash 3 i was wondering if there is any battery hacks or can someone post a walk-through on how to install OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM 4.0 plzz

Apparently you can read a little if you unrevoked.... try that first, it works....I swear.

2) This should be in the Q & A section
You will need a recovery program in order to flash most roms. The two I am aware of are Amon_RA (most popular around these forums), and Clockwork.

Check out OMJ's thread on PPCGeeks. There is a link in the line "YOU MUST BE FULLY ROOTED!", which you can use as your walkthrough. It's easy. Trust me. Just read, and read again. And before you begin, read one more time.

going from stock 2.2 to custom rom

hey, so im using a friends Epic 4G, and trying to put a custom rom on it, not really sure what exists for the Epic 4G. i already have clockwork mod installed. are there any roms i can flash directly from clockwork, being on stock 2.2?

Hi, Do I have to root my phone to install cutom ROMS and themes?

You need the clockwork mod (cwm) and for the most themes a deodexed firmware.

Yea I am also wondering about this. I am new to the Android system. I did flash the rom on my Motorola Q9c and HTC TP2, but still trying to understand the whole android thing. Thanks..

[Q] About clockworkmod 6.0.0+

If i have clockwork mod 5.?.? and i want to install clockwork mod recovery 6.0.0.0 and i flash the installation files for the 6.0 will i still keep the backups that i made from the previous version? Also, can someone please link me to a one v (cdma) version of CWMR 6.0+ and what are the features of the newer cwmr?

[Q] A Few Newb Questions

OK I don't want you to think I am lazy, I read through many threads n tried to figure it out on my own first lol
I just bought a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S2. Which I have been told is the Epic 4G Touch on here so I hope I am in the right place.
Basically I just want to know how to flash the Jelly Bean update assuming it doesn't have it on there yet, Then also how to root it and what the consensus 'best ROM' is? Or if there is not a consensus best then maybe the top couple? Want one that is fully operational. I am coming from the Verizon Droid Charge and I know most of their ROM's weren't fully functional so pardon me if that doesn't apply here.
So how to get it on Jelly Bean.. How to root.. ROM? 'Must have' tweaks n mods?
