[Q] J2ME Apps: How to install J2ME apps on Defy

Hello World,
This is my first post. I wana know how to install j2me apps on defy as gsm arena says that this phone support MIDP 2.0
I tried to install j2me app through file manager but got the error. Please help me install same

Theres an app in the Market called J2ME java runner, its pretty good.

My purpose is not solved. Actually i have 2 jar files and i want to install them on my defy from my sd card

You can use one of those possibilities:
http://microemu.blogspot.com/2009/08/converting-javame-applications-to.html
http://www.upontek.com/ or
http://www.netmite.com/android/index.html
or simply look if there is an apk avaliable for those apps...
You can't run .jar files natively as android uses dalvik and not the usual java vm.

[Q] market error (492) cant download apps

everytime i try to download an app or update an app...i get..."cant download app due to error (492)...what is that..and how can i fix it...PLEASE help me....this is a HUGE problem for me...

Try to find the latest market apk. Install that. Then market should work fine. Google search: Google play.apk

Download failed

Hi guys,
I got this problem with all the gb rom I run (gin2jb,next, true ancestor), each time I want to launch a download via the browser ( to update a rom here for example), the download launch then one second after I got download failed (data or wifi, it's the same) .
With doomkernel or lupus kernel. But when I am on ics, the download complete with no problems.
Any ideas.

Happens when dling cracked apk's, lol. Clear browser cache/try to search for ROM mirrors.

what a load of rubbish, cracked apps have nothing to do with this issue
are you trying to download from mediafire ? if so only opera mini seems to work for me.

Lol, if the APK is badly cracked/decompilated, then it doesnt work. I know it looks stupid but srsly. My friend tried to download cracked APK (it has been deleted from Google Play), he tried like 5mirrors, still same. After some time he wanted tubemate. APK downloaded succefully Looks weird.

It's because of the file hosting server. Some file hosting site can use phone to download (eg. Mediafire, 4shared, zippyshare) but some you need to use pc to download.

thanks for your replies but you're not.
I find that this issue occure when I use .58 v2 enhanced firware base combined with 67 baseband.
Now i'm running with .62 base with .67 baseband and i can normally download everything again.
( thanks again wuby for your funny answer, still lauthing... :laugh

If that was something to make me dumb, than lol at you. I meant that cracked apks are stored at filehostings that sometimes doesnt work well. I havent wrote that. + If it happens only on some firmware that means there is more than 1prob on your Play.

[Q] Cannot install app from store [solved]

Hello,
How come that I cannot install Free Zone WIFI?
It says it is not compatible with my device but only requires Android 2.1.
I have installed CM9. So there should be no compatibility issues.
Can anyone install this app?

There must be a particluar criteria for android versions and phones. E.g if processor, gpu etc better than it will have better android version. Ours wildfire is not that good therfore only Froyo is compatible officially.
Even if u install JB, u wont be able to install apps that are for JB only. And i dont think that app will work perfect.

Well, try to find its apk if u can. Maybe an older version and you can give it a try.
