Problem with the official 2.2 update on my Desire

Hey.
So I've tried to install the official Android 2.2 update on my Desire (unbranded) but there seems to be a problem.
After I've downloaded it and the phone have restarted to begin the installation, a triangle with an exclamation mark inside appears.
I believe it has something to do with unrEVOked 3.
How do i get my phone back to stock?
Cheers!
You need to unroot for the official unrooted update.
But check the dev section, and you can get the rooted version to flash to your phone using clockworkmod
Thanks.
But is the rooted version as stable as the official release?
I'm new to all this, sorry =P
I'm in exactly the same position. I used unrevoked a week ago which worked well, but then I ran out of time last weekend to try any roms. So I now have an unrevoked rooted desire and the official ota failed on the triangle and !
I read somewhere that the official rom will be rooted in a couple of days - so it's probably better to wait for that than to unroot.

[Q] Black HTC screen with 4 warning triangles in corners

Hi guys, sorry about being a bit of a noob (mainly had samsung devices not HTC).
I originally tried to restore my phone with a RUU tt was unfortunately corrupted. Now my phone is stuck in a black screen where the HTC logo is in the middle, and there are 4 exclamation marks surrounded by triangles in the four corners of the display.
My phone is not rooted any more, compliments of the corrupted ROM and also dosn't have S-OFF.
My HBOOT is 0.93
Hope you guys can help! I'm really stuck!
try another ruu from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667
or flash with this flasher a downgrade hboot and then try again ruu
flasher from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=622616&d=1307846388
Downgrade hboot can you find here:

I had the same problem yesterday. I was trying to install the latest gingerbread RUU onto my rooted, s-offed desire.
The problem that my phone had was that I had flashed the Alpharev CM7 hboot which had a very small system memory allocation and that was not allowing the HTC sense ROM to install. I also discovered through research on these forums that the black screen with four triangles was just a veiled fastboot screen.
I used the Android flasher utility to flash the original/stock hboot, also from the Alpharev website. I could do that without any problems. I could then install my stock HTC sense RUU with Android 2.2 without a problem.
I should have stopped there and reverted back to my wonderful Oxygen setup but stupidly, i also went ahead with the upgrade to the latest Gingerbread update thinking I could always revert back if I didn't like it. Now I am stuck with it!

[Q] htc desire 2.3 root and recovery

good evening i'm a noob of desire and i've got a big confusion in my head.
i've tried to read a lot of 3d but it doesn't answer my question 100%
i've got an htc desire with stock 2.2 with 2 month of remaining waranty.
my question is :
can i now update to 2.3 developer stock htc built and in april ( when my waranty period finish ) make root and recovery without become mad?
sorry for my english thanks
I would like to suggest root/s-off on froyo and keep GB update as last thing to save phone... you can upgrade easily but downgrade is more difficult or next to impossible in some cases
ok and there is an " how to " to install recovery root the phone and all the staff?
guide
a bit of outdated but works... if not you can use revolutionary to sign off and then flash zip from question 4 to get root
PLEASE FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTION TO THE LETTER or we will have chat here again
i've tried many time unrevoked3 on 2 different pc with windows 7 32 bit and windows 7 64 bit
the program make a lot of different think and 2 reboot but when android restart it says is your firmware too new??
i've got 2.2 froyo and hboot 0.93.0001 i don't understand
i made a little update of 6.5 Mb found in setting software update it's the reason i can't do the root?
how can i do?
maybe i have rooted with revolutionary
ok i've got clockworkmod on my cell but i've try to install ice cream sandwich and it don't boot i've read that i need stock hboot what does it means i've found a site alpharev but i don't understand how to flash it
thankyou
As you do not know, how to flash a hboot, you could not have done it yet. This means, you are still on stock hboot and you do not have to flash anything.

[Q] Help, recovery will not start after alot of wild flashing

I hope someone can help me with my problem i have on my HTC Desire.
Earlier i have upgraded to the official version of android 2.2 and then later getting S-off and rooted though unrevoked. I cant remember my step by step how i managed all this but i ended up with a rooted handset running Runnymede_AIO_V6.0.4.1_Special_Edition custom rom (2.3) with sd memory (is it a2sd+ its called?) after a couple of months the rom became unstable and i wanted to try a new custom rom.
The installation failed and i got stuck at the white screen with the green HTC logo. The recovery did not start, only rebooted hboot. tried to push a new recovery through fastboot but got a writing error.
Then in a thread here at xda-developers someone recommended a guide to "How to downgrade back to 1.00 radio and .77 HBOOT".
I followed the guide and are now on android 2.1-update1
radio 32.36.00.28_u 4.06.00.02_2
S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
and HBOOT has a -Revolutionary- at top of screen
I can still not enter the recovery (get a picture of a phone with a red triangle with a ! over it)
and its not rooted.
What i would like to get a couple of pointers what i should do to get my handset rooted and upgraded to run custom roms again.
Can anyone help me out?
Already read bortak's guide?

Stupid question about boot loop stock

Question..I'm a charge owner but my buddy owns the incredible. He has a issue where his phone reboots constantly at night. I've figured its software related after beating google for an hour..
It goes to white incredible screen vibrates and reboots..its stock. Would flashing a rom fix this issue?? And if so could someone quick link me to a tutorial since I've only dealt with the charge. Thanks in advance

It is a known issue released with the latest ota 4.08.605.15, i assume thats the version its on. Rooting and flashing any rom not based off of 4.08.605.15 will stop the issue. However i am on my rom touch of blue based on it and have never gotten reboots. How to root depends on the phones current status.
What hboot version?
What android version?
What radio?
S-on or s-off?
Im assuming its on hboot 1.07, android 4.08.605.15, baseband 2.15.10.12.20, and is s-on. If thats the case you can use one of these threads to root and get s-off if desired (s-off recommended).
