Hi,
Is there any application for Indian languages keypad for stock (Orange provided) ROM? Or is there any custom ROM which provides the same? If so which one?
Also how to activate magnifying glass text selection feature in android (like in iphone) ? Is it natively available in Froyo or do i need to install an application ? If so which one?
Thanks
Psov

Is it possible to download this? I had it on one of the original leaked Froyo ROM's it was a nicely rendered black Maglite fullscreen and you could press the onscreen button to set three levels of LED brightness from the flash.
The ones on the market are rubbish.
The only other thing I could do is reflash the old ROM, save the app and try flashing my current ROM back?
Try searching the market for N1 Torch!!
yes a great app if it is a app?
i have it on my rooted froyo rom but it doesn't show in my apps list! ?
Don't need to reflash.
Open the zip for the rom on your PC and find the apk you need.

but i think it only works on SENSE
i can open the app but the flashlight dont work
You can search the market for Mag Flashlight, it's pretty similar to the stock Flashlight and works with non-sense roms.
your right
its similar to the stock
thanx
Hi guys,
it started with the search for a shortcut for the "secret" Samsung *#0*# dialer code, to enable the hidden Samsung LCD Test App...... and it ends with a little app called "Hidden Features Free Sammy Edt" ...(special tailored for the Galaxy S2)
This app provides a lot of hidden (stock) firmware functions with just a few clicks:
* Samsung LCD Test + Quick Test Menu
* Data Usage Status
* Phone Lock Status
* OTA Firmware Menu
* Change Browser UserAgent
* HSDPA/ HSUPA Menu
* RF/ Base Band Menu
* System Dump Menu
* Android Info Menu (including disable GSM)
* GTalk Monitor
* Show Android ID
* etc.
Check it out:
...discontinued due to changes in samsung firmware
There is also an ads free PRO version available, but please try out the FREE version first, to ensure that these hidden functions are available on your device .....

Have fun!
Installed thanks
Amazing thank you

... any additional suggestions/ comments?
Great! Thanks
...any suggestions regarding additional features?
Thanks,
But it doesn't works for me. I click in differents buttons but it does nothing.
I don't know if could be because I have installed a MIUI Rom in my Galaxy.
Hi mmm286,
yes, it is probably because of your custom rom ... This app uses hidden features within the Samsung stock firmware ... no Samsung stock firmware --> no hidden features
But you can try the second tab (with the little Android ) ... Perhaps the "pure" android features will work .... but again depends on your specific rom ...
feedback would be nice

Update available
-> New Features via custom codes tab:
- Manage (Add, Edit, Delete) carrier specific (USSD) codes
- Manage device/ manufacturer specific codes
Or use the custom codes tab as a simple, hidden, non-sync (Google, FB, WhatsApp etc.) phone book ...

Added shortcut for ICS Rocket Laucher
Enjoy this little hidden ICS gimmick
* Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.x) only *
any feature requests?
OK,
made some ICS related updates and fixes and said "Goodbye to the Menu Button"
Not only is this a cool app, but for some strange reason, it enabled the STK (sim toolkit) for my sim which was previously hidden somewhere on my phone. I am using a rooted Galaxy 2s shw-m250s Korean variant, with Villain 3.0 rom, and all functions worked fine. My unit is flashed with DCKL1 radio for "T" models and PDA I9100XXKI3.
Hi drummer, thanks for the feedback! Glad you like it and it solved a problem..

And most of them missed this app ...still room to improve the numer of downloads
Hmm, still waiting for the official ICS rollout for my SGS 2 .....
Does anyone know which hidden touchwiz features still work on ICS ?
(LCD TEST, Test menu, Phone lock status etc. ????)

ascsa
Yes, they still work, but not all. Cannot push your app to the phone to test right now, unfortunately. For example the LCD test works, but 8999 codes don't (taken from here).

Hi vaxxi, thanks for your feedback!
I think the 8999 codes never worked on my SGS 2 .... like some other codes from the list ... so I think this is not a ICS related issue, but I could imagine that samsung removed some of the codes working on a 2.3.+ device ....
Hi,
I own a HTC Sensation XE and I use the ARHD v6.51 ROM with ICS v4.0.3. Before this device I have used a HTC Desire HD with Gingerbread v2.35. The HTC Keyboard with Gingerbread contained Arrow-Keys below the spacebar - the new ICS Keyboard does not have this four keys.
Is there any chance to get the old Gingerbread-Keyboard to work? Most important is that I want to use the HTC Keyboard, no other solution.
Thanks!

Unlikely that it will work. I haven't see any like that for ICS.
The HTC IME mod will work in ICS (tested this) but it has no arrow keys.
Smart Keyboard Pro on the Market has arrow keys and is functionally identical to the HTC keyboard, with more capabilities.
is this enough for you?

Thanks for the link. Will check it out soon (when there will be an open Download-Slot ).
The most important thing is that I can import my personal dictionary to the keyboard because it saves so much time - and my whole dictionary was created on 3-4 different HTC Keyboards over the past few months.
I checked out the Keyboard. Many thanks. Its exactly what I need
heres a screenshot of my new keyboard....

Here is a sample snapshot of my keyboard with arrows including font changes !!!!
WTF! Comic Sans MS???
Nope its not comic sans, its a font called ChinaCat.
Not only the keyboard, this font is applied everywhere on the phone.

Hi, thanks....its an app called "Thumb keyboard" , downloaded from google play, and for the fonts, you can use an app called "Font changer", that too from play store.
You need to be rooted to apply them.
Cheers.!!
Hi, just wondered if anyone had any ideas how best to set up a desire for someone who is visually impaired the standard writing on icons etc is too small.
I'm thinking big fonts etc
Is there a Rom out there that could be easily modified (I've no experience modifying fonts in Roms, but I've flashed loads of different Roms in the past.
Or is there a better solution?
There are few apps in market: big font and big launcher. Maybe they will help a bit until you get some response from people that actually dealt with this before. Also changing dpi maybe would help.

Maybe you should try any of ICS ROMs. They have _standard_ feature of changing fonts size in display settings menu. This feature affects almost all user interfaces, so for me it works perfect in comparison to changing fonts in 2.3 by installing zips.
Moreover there is a possibility of changing font size in browse of ICS.
The main issue is to find stable ICS ROM for your device
Ok chaps, thanks for that, ill check out those apps and keep my eye on ICS development -
Spare parts + from play store. Select font size. Tried and worked on Sammy tab 8.9

I'm currently using CM10 JB rom on my HTC One X and really miss the "swype" like feature of the original HTC keyboard ie. the "trace" option. Does anyone know if this HTC trace keyboard is available for download anywhere?
I don't want to use "swype beta" because of the built in nonsense (data collection etc) and plus I really liked the HTC one when I was still using stock rom.
