WinMo7 BSOD bootanimation.zip - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

More as a joke than anything I created a Winmo7 bsod bootanimation for the GalaxyS. Thought I would share it here just in case anyone else wants it.
A preview can be found:

the bootanimation.zip can be found:

Not being a graphics person myself I used parts of a few other boot animations to create what I wanted, so all credit goes to the original authors of the graphics.

it s original thx

[HACK] WALLPAPER poor quality issue - SOLVED!

UPDATE:
I believe I have a solution for poor quality wallpaper image!
I have explained it in the thread in general Hack and App forum (link below).
Would like some of the developers dealing with background images to check that thread out (Mun_Rus, you especially).
This solution at this moment requires using Manila editor to update the files, but also opens a door to a very cool feature I think many would be interested in: having 2 different wallpapers for portrait and landscape.
Please, show some attention to this!
Rozenthal
Hi guys,
I opened up a thread on the good ol' bad quality wallpaper issue that's been hanging around Touch HD from day 1.
It seems there might be a way to solve this after all. The thread is here.
Apparently, there is an image compression algorithm being applied to wallpaper images before they go to the screen, and this is what's causing the low-quality appearance. This is a special compression algorithm that's not available in standard graphic editing programs such as Photoshop.
However, there is also an XDA user made software that was originally designed to convert VGA Manila interface images to QVGA devices. The author of that software has implied that it might be possible to use his software to achieve better results. There is also some other interesting stuff.
So, please, people with Manila skills, join us on that thread so we can finally get a solution for this.

Noterrific - note keeping/structuring app

Noteriffic 0.53
Copyright (C) 2004 Rudis Muiznieks
Noteriffic is a quick little app I wrote because I felt that the PPC was
lacking a nice, simple, free note keeping/structuring application that has a
desktop counterpart....
All credit goes to Rudis, but now we have WVGA-Screens, so :
Could anybody of those famous and brave developers
compile this VB-Project for >> WVGA << ?
(Its working fine with QVGA and VGA)
Thanks a lot
Creature/entity appeared in mirror,
LOL
kahe40, I wanted to change something in this app the other day so downloaded a trial version of visual studio from MS plus dotnet compact framework. It let me edit the Noterrific source code and compiled a new version fine. I'm sorry I don't have time right now to work out incorporating WVGA, but thought you might like to know what I found out.
ps. if anyone wants the new source/compilation I can post. I simply added the ability for the app to remember which node it is on and return there next time it opens (otherwise it always ended up opening way down the list which drives me mad).
thanks ddk2, please have nice holidays, maybe later we can see...
what do you think about a dark grey background with white text ?
dont know, maybe there are problems with icons and checkboxes ?
and second: in settings, there is: use smaller font for list/display
would you please change to: use bigger font (only one step)
kahe40, did a very quick patch for you, no longer have large/small font, just textboxes so you can set your font size.
Source attached. Find exe's in each project (pda/desktop) in subdir bin\Release.
This version has my mods as described above.
Before you use it, take a copy of your data file (ntn ext) as mine was cleared out somewhere during testing and had to restore. I don't think its a bug, just something from testing, but take backup just to be safe.
Also did a quick test of grey background. Doesn't look that good to me, icons didn't come out well etc. Also presents issues that unless hardcode to grey, then need to make user option to set colour and that's a whole lot of frigging around....be my guest
very nice, good job, thanks a lot my friend
kahe40, don't know if you are still watching this but I just discovered I made a cockup in the last piece of code. I misinterpreted the use of one variable and the resultant problem shows up next time you go to add a node (I haven't added one for quite a while).
This version has corrected that. Also, changed the way I had it remembering which node it was on between sessions. Now saves with the apps variables (a sep file) rather than in the note file itself. Plus side is its much faster closing the app. Another sideaffect is that when syncing the file between pda and desktop, they each have their own memory of the last used node.
Yes, I am guilty my friend,
I traded my TouchHD for an iPhone, dont want to be banned from
this forum, but - man, oh man - what a wonderful OS ...
So I use the old version as shopping-list with my KS20 (QVGA).
Will test your new version soon, thanks a lot.
hello there
I've found this app some weeks ago to keep track of my actions on my work
Like a time log
Is there some some other app (free/paid) that does the same job.
I've found this one for ipod...http://ax.itunes.apple.com/app/id371157360?mt=8
shame that there isn't none for wm

[Q] How to save HDC to png file eVC++

Hello devs.
I want to develop some quickly drawing app, because all apps on the market doesn't meet my needs. One thing I want to have is to store screen contents(HDC or maybe HBITMAP) into an external file(png/gif/bmp).
How can I achieve this?
look into imaging libraries. More specifically: libPng [and the associated ZIP compression library...zlib I think]. That will allow you to save as a PNG image. BMP is natively supported I believe. GIF ... I am not entirely sure about ... Google "C++ Gif Library Windows Mobile" .
To get the actual screen: GetDC() ... that is basically everything
Good Luck
Interesting chatter in here:

[Boot Animation] Astro Anarchy

Hi,
I found this blog by J-P Metsävainio that literally blew my mind! He takes a 2D image of an object in space and cleverly converts it into a 3D animation. He explains it a bit better:
“Since astronomical objects are too far away, no real parallax can be imaged. Due to that, I have developed a method to turn my images to a various 3D-formats. My work flow is based on scientific data from the object, distance and the source of ionization are usually known. The different types of the nebulae has typical structures. Pillar like formations must point to the source of ionization. The radiation pressure forms kind of hollow area, inside of the nebula, around newly born stars. Dark nebulae must be at front of the emission ones to show, etc... Rest of the missing information is then replaced with an artistic vision.
The whole process is pretty much like sculpting!
NOTE! This is a personal vision about forms and shapes, based on some known facts and an artistic impression.”
The results are amazing!
But who is J-P Metsävainio?
“I'm a Finnish astrophotographer and I enjoy to be able to reveal some of the hidden beauty of our Universe.
Publications for my images, NASA, National Geographic, LPOD, Sky & Telescope, Universe Today, Daily Mail, Discover Magazine and many Others.
My observatory is located in the very center of the city Oulu in Finland. Due to massive Light Pollution I mainly do Narrowband imaging of Emission Nebulae. To see my latest work, please, visit my Blog: http://astroanarchy.blogspot.com
Follow Astro Anarchy in Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/jp.metsavainio ”
J-P Metsävainio has kindly given me permission to share his work with you as boot animations!

ALL I HAVE DONE IS CONVERT THE FILES TO BOOT ANIMATIONS. I have reduced the file size without reducing the quality to make it easier on our phones. If you like it, I would be grateful if you hit thanks but, please, visit the source site and consider making a donation.
Note to Moderator:
If there are any problems with this, PM me and I will fix it!
Installation instructions:
Download <<NAME>>_bootanimation.zip
rename it so it's just called bootanimation.zip
paste it into /system/media/ to replace old bootanimation.zip
set permissions to rw-r--r--
Reboot
Please let me know what you think...

I have that app too, it's awesome! You won't find these boot animations on the app (until you download them here) but it does make it really easy to load them.

[port] Nethack 3.4.3 for RT

Here is a port of Nethack 3.4.3 for your jailbroken pleasure. Just unzip the contents of the ZIp file into a directory of your choice and go get that Amulet of Yendor.
I haven't yet played all the way through, and I haven't seen certain things like the special levels, so I can't say for certain that they work, but I also don't have any reason to believe that they don't. Please let me know about any problems, and I will do my best to fix them of course.
Cool, thanks! Adding it to the list.
Appreciate the share. Will check this out soon.
