Ive been trying all the various roms available, and have decided upon Oxygen 2.0.3 (now 2.1), but there is only the one small niggle that i miss from Sense.
This is the contact linking it does. Fair enough it has linked some of my contacts correctly, but in sense, i could also manually link a Facebook contact to a Google contact, etc, is this possible in these AOSP roms ?

Can anyone include HTC Sync or something useful as it in the new ROMs?
I can't use your fantastic roms because I can't sync my phone simply with outlook... I tried some other ways to do it (android-sync, gmail, ....) but if you use so often calendar and contacts they are not the best way!

As has been stated before, no Sense = no HTC Sync. Since there are no Sense FroYo roms yet, the answer would be "no"

The fact is that the only thing I like from the htc sense is the way it links my google contacts with the facebook contacts, almost automatically.
is there a way to have that on a rom without sense?

In short, no. There are some apps that try to do this however none of them work anywhere nearly as well. If the contact has the exact same name as they do on facebook it will happen in stock by itself, however it is not as good.

i'm looking for a software that can MERGE the contacts from GOOGLE,FACEBOOK and the phone itself in a single contact (preferably a .vcf file), instead of LINKING them with others.
due to this, now my DHD has 750 contacts instead of 380 initially.
can anybody refer me any app for this??

Is it possible to link your own contactcard to an existing contact/synch your own contactcard with google contacts?
I already had myself in my OS X Adresbook and Google contacts, as a result i had myself in double on my phone, so I copied all data to the personal contact card and deleted the old one, but it seems like this one does not get synchronised??
Any ideas to do this without yourself twice in contact list?
Hi everyone, i flashed my Desire to the Oxygen rom and its really nice, though one thing is bugging me, the facebook linking is so annoying, where htc desire has people, normal android has contacts, is there any way to get people on my oxygen interface? because going through facebook and linking almost all my contacts that dont have their number on fb is a bit annoying to be honest
You could try Noonski's Gingerblackness ROM

It has the simplicity of Gingerbread with some standard HTC Sense stuff, like 'people' etc.
It is a very basic ROM, so you may find you can't personalise it as much as you like, but as always, create a backup of your current setup first and you can always restore it.

I used MyBackup Root to back up all my contacts on my phone while I was using leedroid. When I've reloaded them into cynogenmod each contact has about 4 copies.
Is there a way to sort my contacts and remove the duplicates? or is there an alternative contact list like that on sense I'm missing having peoples profiles linked with their contact data. The non sense contacts in cm7 rc2 is weak in comparison to the sense verison.
Any ideas are much appreciated.

The way I did it I setup my contacts to sync with my Google Account so no matter what rom I have I always have my contacts. Then I just link Facebook and Twitter and I get the contact pictures. It's much easier than using 3rd party apps to do it for you.

Sync all your (multiple) contacts contacts to gmail.
Log into gmail on a pc, click contacts on the left side bar. Then click the drop down box "more actions", and select "find & merge duplicates".
Having your contacts synced to gmail works really well for swapping and changing roms, and also pretty much guarantees you will never loose them.....
Can you please suggest me an other launcher that can do all sense's sync abilities?
Because i want to flash no sense roms. But others' launchers can't sync contacts like sense... Example, sense contacts note the people's facebook or others ID numbers in google contacts list. Then when you flashed some other rom, it can completely renew all of your contacts basically.
I have already now syncing people like, facebook, Twitter, foursquare, Skype, tango, what'sup msg ext...
Is there any application that can do all basically?
(I hate to install any contacts application to change my own. I'm searching all in one roms)

What people tend to do is use the google sync to sync the contacts. For the rest you'll need to download the apps to sync the other services.
There are some apps that have several in one. For example imo messenger (not sure if it's that one) has msn, skype and several others.
What you could do is go into the market, search for facebook for example, and read the description of the other apps. Some of them will sync facebook and twitter.
Regarding the roms, there will be a seperate file to download called google apps which is for no sense roms. They are usually listed in the op.
Not sure if there is a single rom that does what you want. There is a reason it's a no sense rom.

if you want a rom that does it all for you , you should use a sense one and stay on it cz aosp roms you must do everything by yourself, its just pure android as google release it
Sense is hard to replace, now I'm using a custom ics rom, with standard launcher plus beautiful widget and pure messenger that are good apps but aren't free.
