I did a search and couldn't find a similar problem. I rooted and performed S-off with no problems.downloaded CoreDroid v5.4 through ROM manager. Selected Data Wipe and Back Up. Booted into recovery and backed up current ROM and then installed CoreDroid. Now my Inspire is stuck on the HTC screen, and won't boot into recovery. I've tried pulling the battery with no luck. If anybody knows of a fix, please let me know. Thanks.

Hi all,
I tried to install the latest cyanogenmod -6.1.2.-DesireHD rom to DHD, and tried the steps given below, after that at the time of reboot the phone hangs shows only HTC logo on white back ground.
The steps followed are :
1. rooted the phone using Visionary( r14 ) as mentioned and tesed with the terminal emulator.
2. Installed engineering version of HBOOT to get S-Off, it was done successfully.
3. Installed RomManager premium and installed clockworkmod recovery 3.0.0.5.
4. Took the backup and installed cyanogenmod -6.1.2.-DesireHD.
Installation is proper and after rebooting it shows the HTC logo with white background initial picture and hangs.
I tried to restore the phone back to normal by selecting backup image from the restore option of clockworkmod recovery here also the same thing hapend.
Can any one help me getting back the phone.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks,
cjag
The problem is your clockworkmod. Put CM7 rom to your SD, do a full wipe and flash. It will work. Other option is to flash older clockworkmod in fastboot, search for instructions.

OK so I've had permanent root for months now and never had problems flashing new ROM's on my G2 until now. I downloaded the latest version of virtuous unity w/sense 3.0 ROM via rom manager. After flashing it through rom manager, the phone seems to be stuck on clockwordmod recovery. When I select reboot system now from CWM it just shows the HTC logo and boots back into CWM again. I tried wiping data, cache, etc. I tried installing several different ROM's. All ROM's install fine via CWM but it never boots into the OS it just boots into CWM EVERY TIME. I've looked everywhere for a solution but to no avail. Please help, I need my phone!!

If you have a T-Mobile G2, you MUST install Desire Z HBOOT in order to get Unity to work properly.

It details how to fix a similar issue i had
Doing it this way will totally wipe all your data i'm afraid.
I was playing with the Voltage settings of my rom, then I must have undervolted it too much and the top notification bar vanished and the rom froze.
So I rebooted it and it got stuck at the T-mobile ring thing. Then I rebooted again after 10 minutes of waiting and it got stuck in the MildWild boot up and keeps bootlooping.
I think went into recovery and 4EXT Touch recovery freezes at "Configuring settings.."
Is my desire completely bricked? Is there any way to fix this?
Please help me.
My HTC Desire is S-OFF with CM7r2 HBOOT.
Booting to fastboot? Power and back button?

fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Once done, use the new recovery and do whatever you want with it. Assuming you're s off.
Here's the latest test recovery image

Hey guys, so I am a bit of a n00b with HTC devices, I just got my HTC Inspire, I rooted, installed CWM with glevitans tool (with S-ON) and I attempted to install the Viper ROM. I put the zip in my sd, I fastbooted the boot.img after wipeing cache etc. and then I installed the ROM. Device gets past the HTC logo but it ends up in a black screen (no boot logo no nothing). I thought that I failed, so to make the device usable for a while until a next attempt, I booted into recovery and restored my previous NANDroid backup with the stock ROM. Still goes pass the HTC Logo but black screen again, I am going crazy! IDK what to do please help! Phone's new but no warranty!
You have to flash the boot.img using fastboot after installing the rom and not before installing the rom.
Thanks doesn't hurt....
if you choose full wipe in Aroma then boot partition is formated, so you have to flash boot.img again
when you restore a backup the boot is not restored(the same way as you can not flash boot from recovery, you can not restore it. s-off needed)
Issue solved, IDK, it has to be something with my device, I tried a few Sense roms on my device (flashed rom, then flashed boot.img) and all failed with a black screen. Then I downloaded an AOSP ROM (Revolution) and the phone booted right away. I prefer AOSP from Sense (it's much lighter). Anyways thanks guys, you both earned your thanks!
