I was playing with the Voltage settings of my rom, then I must have undervolted it too much and the top notification bar vanished and the rom froze.
So I rebooted it and it got stuck at the T-mobile ring thing. Then I rebooted again after 10 minutes of waiting and it got stuck in the MildWild boot up and keeps bootlooping.
I think went into recovery and 4EXT Touch recovery freezes at "Configuring settings.."
Is my desire completely bricked? Is there any way to fix this?
Please help me.
My HTC Desire is S-OFF with CM7r2 HBOOT.
Booting to fastboot? Power and back button?

fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Once done, use the new recovery and do whatever you want with it. Assuming you're s off.
Here's the latest test recovery image

hey everyone, i have an sim free desire HD that was rooted and s-off and has been running like that for a while. recently i tried to access clockwork mod to try and flash a new rom but when i did so the recovery does not load. Its just stuck on the htc splash screen, it doesnt even say quietly brilliant. The phone still works but i cannot access recovery. I tried the following procedure in fastboot to re flash the recovery
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recoveryCWM.img
fastboot reboot
after doing this it still has not worked. Any suggestions or a certain fix would be brilliant.
Thanks
You can put the PD98IMG.zip from my downgrade post to your SD card and reboot to bootloader, it will flash you the 1.32 stock ROM and you can start from a clean table.
use an older version of recovery

I had the same problem, with clockwork 3.0.0.6 ... I then flashed 3.0.0.5 (see the bottom of the Rom manager Menu that proposes you to use former recovery roms). I could solve my problem that way.
I have my Desire rooted S-OFF running CWM 2.5.0.9 and phoenix 1.3 ROM. I have been trying to upgrade to CWM 3.0.0.5. I tried following directions website and chose renaming my file as update then installing it from recovery. Now the phone will not boot into recovery although it is otherwise fully functional. Any thoughts on how to begin to remedy this? ROM Manager still says I am running 2.5.0.9.
The phone will boot into the FASTBOOT/HBOOT white screen but when I select RECOVERY it hangs at the splash screen. I posted this at the Teamuscellular site but it appears after maintenance I can no longer post over there so posting here in hopes of a faster response.
Download this and install the image. Will flash it all for you no problem. Make sure you get the .img.
I followed the instructions listed ... even tried custom recovery with unRevoked but I get the same result. Going to try reflashing 2.5 to see if I can get back into recovery at all.....
Boot into the fastboot screen and flash the new recovery from there via usb.

Did you try to start with volume-down pressed?
I can get in bootloader and fastboot, but not in clockworkmod recovery.
i have flashed the clockworkmod recovery in fastboot again but with no luck
still get boot loop if i try to get in clockwordmod recovery.
possible that you're flashing a corrupted image
i would recommend 4ext touch recovery as it's just better in many ways.
can you still boot normally into your rom? if so you can install the app from 4ext.net, then let it flash the recovery for you.
alternatively flash the recovery.img from the 4ext thread.
i have downloaded the image many times.
I can boot in my rom, but i get some random reboots with boot loops.
I am going to try the 4ext recovery later.
Thanks!
I have tried the 4ext recovery same result it ends in boot loops.
I have gone back on stock branding rom with s-on.
It seems that the promlem wasnt coused by the custom recovery.
I am still getting random reboots.
When it then reboots it hangs in an boot loop.
It only boots if i remove the battery and wait a few minutes.
Anybody an Idea what couses this problem?
I was using arhd
Flashed aokp icecoldjelly - booted fine
powered down into recovery
ran superwipe
booted into bootloader
flashed arhd boot.img
tried to boot into recovery and stuck at htc splash
holding power causes the buttons to flash a few times and the screen shuts off for a second and then gets stuck at htc splash screen again
Sorry about the weirdly formatted post. I made the checklist of things I did so that i could get help. Adb and fastboot are unable to see the device.
Thanks
Edit: I got into fastboot and tried reflashing the recovery. As soon as i tried to boot into recovery again, the same thing happened as above.
Have you tried "fastboot erase cache" without the commas

yuppp finally got it working! thanks.
So you flashed the ROM, and THEN superwiped it? Or is your list of things not chronological?
the list of things is chronological. I fastboot wiped cache and the recovery finally stuck so i was able to restore my nandroid
Just unlocked my ATT HTC One X using the HTC Dev website. Device is reporting unlocked when booting however if I attempt to flash a custom recovery (CWMT 5.8.4.0 or TWRP) and boot into recovery all I get is the HTC boot screen with the dev txt, sits there, then phone reboots itself back to the original factory ROM. Am I missing something here? I have done fastboot erase cache as well with no luck.
Also, attempting to boot into recovery from the bootloader rather than adb or fastboot commands sometimes sends it into a boot loop.
Suggestions?
Thanks!
Wrong forum and wrong recovery, the recovery is for the international quad core One X.
