Where does android save its contacts on the tilt 2, I tryed starting android on my phone and hariet is giving me a different screen other then the boot up and won't start up so im going to upgrade to the new froyo build.
Also where do the app save because I have the Blizzard Authenticator for World of Warcraft and I don't feel like having to call blizzard to take that off my account if I can save it if not let me know plz =D.
i have done some searching here but not across all the android phone platforms for android.
My Desire is SOOO slow, I need to do a reset. However, one thing I desperately want to do is put all the contact information I have for each contact amalgamated in to one contact on say the google contact.
At the moment I have say 9 separate contact accounts for one that are all linked together, comprising of say a google account contact, 6 for the phone and then linked to facebook which gives me the birthday and photo. I'd really like a simple way to be able to take all that and put it in to one google contact without so many! This to then be done for all my contacts.
Any way?
Not to be the bearer of bad news and with the hope of giving this post a boost to the front page for some good help, but I very much doubt an app has been created to do this. Maybe a business opportunity though for the right developer!
Fatal flaw in android imho. Been wanting to manage all my contacts in a single account since day 1 on the desire and posted several times in various forums without much in the way of a response. The current approach is complex and messy.

does the contacts function of googlemail not meets your needs guys? If not why not? I dont use facebook so dont know if it is any good in that department. TBH I cant see google supporting facebook to much as I think they are on googles hit list.
I currently have an HTC Desire, and am SERIOUSLY considering getting a Motorola Xoom (WiFi Only) when they become available in the UK, and I just wondered:
I only have one Gmail account which I use on a regular basis, and this would be the one I would like to use on the Xoom (as well as still syncing with the Desire). Is this possible?
If I log in to another device with the same email address, am I able to re-download purchased apps again and run them on the Xoom?
For example, I have Beautiful Widgets running on my Desire, would I be able to download it for free on the Xoom?
I know this is not strictly a Desire question (nor is is a Xoom), but due to a lack of an "Android General" section, I thought I would ask in here - feel free to move if needed mods!

Hi,
Normally you can have any info tied to your google account synced with any device using android.
What you won't get in the xoom market app is a list of the currently installed apps that you have on the desire, but, as far as i know, you will be abel to download the apps you purchased with your desire.
You'll also be able to sync the contacts, calendar and mail(as long as you don't use pop3) on both devices.
You can have multiple devices on one account and everything will sync like normal.
with google authenticator you can have as many accounts as you want !!.. on what ever devices as you want !!
market.android.com seems to have support for multiple devices anyway
Yes, you can have multiple device for your Google account.
Here is my setup for me (Nexus S) and my wife (HTC Desire).
One Google account for buying apps ([email protected])
Two separate Gmail accounts for contacts ([email protected] and [email protected])
Works

I am thinking the same - but can't decide if it is going to be worth getting a Xoom or a Flyer...
Either way I want a wifi only one
I have a desire and a tab. Both using same google acct, great part is pay for app on one and you get it on other one too, no extra fee

I took the opposite line and registered separate gmail accounts for my Desire and a 7" tablet. Slightly different set of apps on the two devices and wasn't sure if the big G could tell that there were two. However, key apps like Touchdown seem to work fine with two syncs going on.
I had to pay for a couple of apps all over again but frankly the developers of the really good ones deserve the small amount it cost me.

Well I am now between the Xoom, LG Optimus Pad and Samsung 8.9" Galaxy Tab.
That Xoom Wifi for £450 is capturing my interest at the moment
EDIT: Mod please correct spelling in topic title. Rushing combined with no proofreading isn't good.
I searched, couldn't really find what I felt was accurate information with what little was available. I need to change Gmail cause the one associated with my DInc is years old & become cluttered with junk. I realize I can export my contacts from the original then import to the new at which point they should sync with that account.
Big question. What about apps? How can the purchase history be changed, app info backed up. Just any opinions, advice or whatever. Prefer to do it right the first time.
Basically would like to have work completely as is but with fresh address.

Since everything is associated with your Gmail account, I presume you'll have to contact Google about it. I am not sure if they've made changes to allow that or not. You also could contact the developer of the app, they may be able to help out too. It seems like it is an issue for a lot of people, so if you find an answer, please share your steps!
For apps I guess it would depend upon how you paid for them. I use Google Checkout so all my app purchases are linked to my account. The dev has to keep that information somewhere to verify that you bought it but not sure that you could get it out of them that easily a lot are just ma and pa devs and who knows what they keep around. Also not sure if Google allows you to rename your email address but it might be an option in account settings. That way you don't have to open a new account and all your Google accounts would be updated.
I went into my account but didn't see any thing in the settings which would allow you to rename the email account. Google tech support might be able to do it if you contacted them.
Dear Google, I am NOT a teenage girl and don't want smiley default images nor do I really want photos from someone's lame Facebook page as their "contact photo". But Google is not listening, I fear.
Maybe someone reading this knows how to disable contact pictures and/or get rid of the smiley gray image. I can't find any settings for it.
Running Android 4.1 on my new Verizon Nexus. It replaced my broken Droid X which was rooted and modded. This Nexus out of the box is pretty good about allowing apps to be disabled (almost root but not quite).
Thanks for any assistance. I suspect that this is controlled not by the phone but by the GMail contacts that the phone is synching with.

I will post a solution if I find one. Hope someone else has one.
Yeah I miss my Droid X though it was slooooooow.
Nobody? Bummer.
