I wen't for a run with my incredible, which I have done many many times, and when I got back the Green notification light was on. I think some sweat must have found its way into the phone. Is there an app or anything I can do to get this notification light turned off. I don't need the light, I turn it off on all the applications that use the light. I'm rooted running CM7, I changed kernals and loaded Sky Raider to see if that would fix it, to no avail. The light comes on almost instantly after pushing the power button on a reboot. Looking for some input before I go talk to verizon. I'm due for an upgrade in June, so I can wait it out if I need to.
Thanks
Do you have a nandroid of your stock setup? If you do, install that backup and see if that works.

Its been so long since i have been stock. Thats why i flashed another Rom/Kernal. I think its the phone, not the ROM.

Just noticed that my LED flash doesn't work, not on camera or with "torch". First of all I'm using the latest Cyanogenmod 6.0.2 with Launcher Pro Plus, and havent experienced any problems with it. I did however a complete wipe and tried 2 other roms to be sure (tried the HTC Flashlight) but the LED stays dead.
Anyways, I tried the "torch" on Cyanogenmod and obviously it didn't work, BUT a bit later when I unlocked my phone the LED turned on by itself approximately for the time I tried the torch earlier.. sounds weird? for me too, and it did that a second time also. What the f&%k is the problem, hardware issue? Propably or something else? I have no idea what to try
If I wanna get my phone to warranty I'd need to unroot it.. I have HBOOT 0.93 and SLCD screen, didn't find a solution for that combo or does just simply running a official RUU unroot it?

i have no idea about the flash... but for unrooting it, just running a RUU for slcd should unroot it... just try, you won't loose anything, just do a backup (titanium backup) then flash the RUU, the worst that can happen is that it does nothing, and you have to root it again...

Yeah unrooting is a piece of cake, don't wanna do that just yet because the LED is not dead afterall, it just has a life of it's own, it blinks on about every 30 seconds.. lol, is there a way to disable the LED light like removing it's driver or something? This is just such a mindf*&k right now..
Well.. after fighting with trying to get one of my SD cards to work as Goldcard I gave up and wiped and flashed once again, and to my surprise the flash is working again, HTC's Flashlight kinda workd backwards, from brightest, dimmest to medium brightness.. but as for cameras it does seem to work.
If anyone expreiences something similar please do share it, I don't wanna be the only one acting like lunatic with LED problems lol
Hi phiit,
It's not just you, I'm having a very similar issue. Got my phone back from HTC a couple of weeks ago after they manually applied the latest software update to 2.2 - as the OTA update failed and corrupted the radio on my phone (Grrr!).
I have noticed over the past few days the flashlight feature doesn't work, it loads up and you 'click' the button on the display to select one of the light levels, but nothing happens with the camera flash LED at all.
In addition to this the camera flash LED occasionally, and apparently completely randomly, lights up for half a second roughly whilst I am doing something completely unrelated with the phone.
It has happened while I am unplugging it from charge, browsing the internet, playing Angry Birds and using other apps - none of which (as far as I know) go anywhere near the camera.
The camera flash now does not operate when I try to take a picture in low light conditions - regardless of the flash setting on the camera app, I can't make it come on in Google Goggles or Barcode scanner either.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, this is a non-rooted, branded T-Mobile handset.
Any ideas anyone? I'm waiting to hear back from htc about it, I'm not looking forward to their answer somehow....
Phone sent off to HTC again on Tuesday, awaiting their response, hopefully it'll be quicker than the three weeks it took last time......
I rooted the phone using odin, then threw lost kernal on the phone. then used odin to flash the stock pulled kernel to eliminate the yellow triangle then used CWM to flash back to lost kernel. then went to zedomax V3. phone has been working very good. did freeze one time when opening a game and then restarted on its own after a few seconds but this is only once so far. I never knew about this problem until last night when i attempted to do a 100% charge with the phone off so I could reset batt stats. well, EVERYTIME I turn the phone off, it stayed off for a few seconds but then it would always turn itself back on... just flashed back to lost kernel (stable version) and it is now sitting powered off charging just like normal. I liked the OC ability but I will sometimes need my phone to stay off, say when I get on a plane...
anyone else have this problem
Same here I am running version V3 of Zedo, stock rooted.....and have the same issue the phone will not stay off. I have tried it both ways with QuickReboot and also manual with the power button and still have the same results. For me it is NBD but I have not been in a situation where I need to have the phone stay off.
I also tried it with quickreboot (not sure if I have the same app, blue circle with a yellow lightning bolt?). also, does your phone do this? when I shut down using the power button long press, choose power off and then hit ok, it shows the sprint logo with the exploding boxes looking screen, capacative buttons stay lit up for a while as its shutting down, quick reboot just SHUTS DOWN! lol, its like the difference of being on a PC and choosing shutdown or just flipping the switch on the back of the PSU. is it better to shut it down the stock method?
(side note- my palm pre power button started acting up so now I do what I can to use the epics power button as little as needed, which is why I have a screen icon to lock my phone and reboot with quick reboot)
yea we have the same quick reboot program....as for shutting it off which way, I think it is better to shut the phone down using the power button and have the phone go thru the shut down process vice just shutting down right there and then like a light switch. I do the same on a pc i try never to just hold the power button to shut down the pc unless it freezes, I just do the regular shut down process.
I flashed zedo v3 too and had problems too. At random moments i couldnt text, browse web, make calls or get calls unless i reboot. I unrooted it and phone went back to normal. Im sure zedomax will put out a better kernal, he knows wats up. Has anyone else had dat problem?
actually the not-staying-off was the only problem I even had on that kernel except the freeze that happened one time. today on lostkernel, right in a row I had 4 texts say they failed to be sent but then when I talked to the people later they all told me that they were actually delivered. I even rebooted the phone after the first 2 and the next 2 still said failed so I highly doubt that it was anything other than a weird problem with the network though... although I dont know exactly how the whole process works. I think I am going to go back to zedomax later though, I dont fly often so if I end up on a plane Ill just flash lostkernel again since I leave both files on the card on a daily basis. and I like the setcpu profiles. could always go with the experimantal build of lost kernel since technically the zedomax is a beta as well...
My wife has a One V (through US Cellular, stock, non-rooted) and for the last week or so, the green LED has been constantly flashing. The orange charging status notification overrides the green, but the green starts up again as soon as it is unplugged. It doesn't matter if there are notifications or not, and it continues even when all of the LED notifications are disabled in the menu. I've tried resetting the phone, and that doesn't make a difference.
Have any of you had this issue, and if so, is there a way to remedy the problem? It's not a huge deal, but it is annoying.
maybe a factory reset will help
don he has tried resetting it read again

flash the kernel again, don did it work?
No,I don't have permission to do it
So, I feel like I should preface this with the full realization that I am an idiot.
Now that that's out of the way, here's what happened.
This thing runs crazy slow, and I heard HTC Sense (Amongst other things) slows it down. So, I Unlocked the bootloader and rooted my CDMA Virgin Mobile One V using the steps here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751004
Afterwards, I tried to flash a rom of CGM 10, which didn't work. When I attempted to boot into recovery mode both from ROM manager and from the bootloader, I got a phone with a red ?. I tried a few times, couldn't figure it out, so, I gave up on the roms.
Then I found out you can uninstall apps using titanium backup. I uninstalled an app related to sense. I'm not sure which one exactly. After this, my home button stopped working. Upon realization, I did a factory reset through the bootloader, thinking it would resolve the issue. Now, when I boot the phone, the htc screen shows, the VM screen shows, then it goes black. The indicator light is flashing like I have a notification, however. Additionally, when I received a message on facebook, my phone vibrated. My theroy is that the phone is working in the background, but just don't display anything on screen.
When I use vol down + power to attempt to load into the bootloader, the phone just turns on and displays the symptoms above. I don't know of another way to get into the boot loader so that I can attempt to flash an RUU. Am I totally screwed here?
Good news is that I have my old Optimus V as a backup, but the thing is ancient and I'd really prefer to get my One back up and running. If the one is a turtle, speed-wise, my Optimus is a gargoyle.
Oh, and for the record, *facepalm*.
Update: I plugged the phone in to charge, and the unlock ring came up. I am able to get into the settings and notifications from the top bar, but the home screen still won't come up. I still can't get into the bootloader, either.

Sounds like you removed the Sense launcher which displays your apps, wallpaper, etc. I would try flashing another rom

Just reflash the ROM you were on WITHOUT full wipe
I bought this S3 used off Ebay and right away rooted and flashed TPR. Works great. Just realized that the LED notifications don't work when the phone is on. If it is off and charging it shines red until charged then green and blue when rebooting but if th phone is on the LED doesn't light ever. I do have everything check marked in Display/Led and I flashed back to stock and still the same. I redownloaded the ROM and still the same. Also in case it matters with debugging on or off when I plug it into my PC to charge at work Auto play pops up which I don't remember happening on my Epic 4G I came from. Any thoughts or do I have to live with it?
Thanks in advance
I assume no replies means I get to live with it but I will bump it once just for giggles and see what happens
Thanks
Just a note to say that it is fixed it in case anyone else has the problem...I had gone back to stock by flashing the return to stock rom but it still persisted. I used Odin to return to stock and it still persisted. I had a problem with the proximity sensor that I had replaced and then the notifications worked properly. I am told that LED notification light and proximity sensor are 2 completely different circuits but that is the timeline of it working.
