Small amount of Rubbing Alcohol on a cotton ball or lint free rag. Clean the screen with it, then take a dry cotton ball or rag and wipe the screen down again.

Cleaning solutions

Any recommendations for weekly cleaning of the EVO? I picked up some Windex for Electronics wipes and some baby powder to prevent "oil slicks" when using my Ballistic case. The Windex is supposed to help with anti-static and help keep dust and dirt off of the screen. I've tried alcohol wipes and eyeglasses solution from Costco, water. They help a little.
Not sure about some of the pricier options like ZAGG foam.
What kind of cleaning cloths do you recommend?

Windex will work a lil bit tho don't want it to get in the ports. If your using a ballastic case no need for baby powder if you have a screen protector already on your phone it fills the air pocket between the screens so no oil slick effect I had the same case.
Cleaning products seem excessive. Just need a dry cloth or lightly soaked with water to wipe it down. Your phone doesn't get that dirty, does it?
Is this for real???? It is a piece of glass, surrounded by plastic. You don't need anything special to clean it. Windex or any other normal clean and paper towel will clean it. Stop trying to make this more special and complicated than it is.

I took off the anti-glare screen protector that was included in the case (not the outer clear screen). So now it's just the screen pressing against the outer clear screen. The baby powder trick works well. Apply baby powder. Then wipe up with a wet cloth. No oil slicks so far.

I'm a bit of a neat freak. I like my evo and case as clean as possible. I'm trying an anti-static wipe to cut down on the dust inside and outside of my case. Hopefully, that'll help.
yeah I have been using isopropyl alcohol and I have had no issues. I would be careful with windex. Some of the bottles will have ammonia in it and that is know to cloud certain plastics/poly-ish things. Like no windex on tinted windows, as that can cloud the cars window tint.
Just a microfiber cloth and a amonia free cleaner here , I think I use glass plus its amonia free . I clean mine daily , I work in the heat and dirt so my screen protector is contstantly greasy either from oil from machines or from my face when I make a phone call . This cleans it up rather well .
50/50 isopropyl alch and water, i spritz it in to the air and move the phone's screen through the mist so there won't be too much overspray, it should be plenty. Then i hit it with one of those yellow costco microfibers, does the trick every time.
I stay away from windex for electronics as iso is enough to get fingerprints and grease off.
I guess I'll have to settle for the alcohol Costco wipes. They're like 200 small packets for $8.39. Are they safe to use on lcd screens?
Link for Costco wipes: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...56&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1
I guess this windex for electronics wipes is going back. They're $4.99 at Target.

Baby powder trick only lasts for a few days and is annyoing when your in direct sunlight or indrect light looks milky.
the screen itself is not the lcd panel, but a glass digitizer on top of the screen, so yes, anything that is gentle enough for an lcd directly will work on the glass....since its glass.
I use spit and my shirt lol. It gets the job done.

Clean touch screen

Hi what can I use to clean the phone touch screen (SE x8)? It's always oily. My phone have screen protector, it's a plastic sticker on the touch screen.
simply clean Fingers
I use a small microfibre cleaning rag without any liquids
I use a damp tissue or cloth followed by a dry one. Works as well if not better than the fancy stuffs.
I have a microfiber cloth also but after a cple days wet paper towel then dry it with the cloth
Any glass cleaner, applied to tissue/cloth and wiped over screen will do the trick.
glass cleaner will leave a residue behind because of the ammonia. after you take a shower just wipe it with your damp towel. Does the trick perfectly
Brasso gadget cleaner i use it for my streak its sh?t hot

I think that could get moisture inside the device, which is probably not a good thing :S
you can use white vinegar small amount 1/2 and 1/2 water on the damp cloth and then dry it will remove the grease and slime your fingers put on the screen/protector
Micro fiber cloths for the win... or your T-shirt.

I use rubbing alcohol and wipe it with microfiber. So far it works okay on my HTC HD2, but cannot be sure if the alcohol will do any damage to the screen.
Try windows/white board cleaner WITHOUT amonia.
I also use microfibre rag without any liquids.
Damp cloth , dry with microfibre cloth
Mouth vapor and t-shirt!
Microfiber will do!
Try Zagg wipes. You can get them off zagg's website (cant post links sorry)
First thins first that I have learned, before touching any tech nology, wash your hands! Use antibacterial soap and hand sanitizer to remove the grease, next, take a nice microfiber cloth and gently rub the phone in circles, wax on, wax off motion. Once you have complted this step and the creen is completely clean, gently glide your clean finger across the screen in a swiping motion... see how xlean it feels

Seems so simple doesn't it. Unless you are playing beach volleyball just prior to cleaning your phone you'll never scratch the glass with a t-shirt.

I usually use Spigen screen protectors but they don't offer a matte one for the Nexus 5 but I have had a couple good experiences with Tech Amor's screen protectors!
Go in a bathroom, take off your clothes, turn on the shower and let the room get steamy. Then apply the screen protector. The steam prevents dust from falling freely in the room.
icarez screen protectors on amazon. theyre fab
have a matte one on my n5
Highly recommended GLASS-M. 0.15mm glass. Very good for use it with any case. http://glass4m.com/collections/frontpage/products/glass-m-google-nexus

its not about the screen protector, its about how well you prepare the screen, lol.

Use a little rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth to clean your screen. then use some sort of sticker to clean the screen again. all while in the bathroom with the shower running. I use disposable gloves while handling the protector and phone also.

Got the same problem. That's not glass, there is plastic over the glass to keep it from shattering if the back ever breaks. Alcohol could even make this worse if the the cover reacts with it. Put your back cover over it and try to ignore the marks.
Try to clean it with toothpaste. 1stly apply toothpaste in all area. Gently spread it out using your fingers and finally wipe it using tissue or cotton clothes.

Imagine it as a plastic screen protector. There's a guide somewhere in this forum on how to peel that plasctic off but you should not.
Because it is plastic, using alcohol may not bring any results. Try using acetone (I normally use acetone to clean the plastic on watches and telephones).

Yep
But a polishing compound it is, must rub them out
If the plastic is really buggered - you could clean it the best you could and then cover it with a skin like the DBrand ones - or peel it off and put one of the skins on to protect it afterwards. (I don't think peeling it off is a good idea however)
They are referring to my guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/how-to/how-to-remove-plastic-film-t3569789/page2
But really, doing this is not advised!
As you can see there is a thick plastic layer on the back. Can you "feel" something at the white markings? In that case the layer may be damaged en it's best to use a case/shell and leave it be.

General Front screen protector problem

Just a warning. I just opened my Fold, and my finger slipped. My nail then caught on the edge of the front screen protector. Now has a tiny scratch, but loads of bubbles and a couple with speck of dust (so impossible to remove). It's not a massive problem, but it is annoying.
It's really easy to do, so please be aware of that when opening.

No, factory installation.
take it off and install a new one
If you are careful, here is what I did...
Removed the factory protector
Rinsed the screen protector under cold water
Used a lint-free cloth to dry
Used Scotch Tape rolled inside out (sticky side out) and removed any lingering dust particles (Phone and Screen Protector)
Used a small spray bottle (that, interestingly enough, came from another screen protector install kit) and sprayed a small amount of Rubbing Alcohol on the screen
Placed Screen Protector back on phone
Pushed all the alcohol/bubbles out
Wipe with lint free cloth and let sit for a few mins to really dry out
Was it worth it? In the end? No, I ended up replacing it eventually anyway (about a week without issues initially), but once you try this, the screen protector never adheres to the phone the same again anyway. So forget all that mess and get a new one and put it on.
IF you try this, just know that it will, probably, last you long enough to get a new one and install it. Great in a pinch if you have the time to do it.

If you install one yourself do it in the bathroom after running hot water through the shower (Suggested to me by another member).
Or otherwise jack up the humidity in the room to help reduce static and get dust out of the air.
Wear cotton.
I like to use wet apply hydrocell screen protectors (Gorilla IQ Sheild) on my N10+'s but any dust can screw up the installation. Cleaning clothes have to be 100% lint free.
