Hi guys. Can you do me a favour please?
I just want to know what network to go for next time. I'm with 3 atm, but i find their reception in the buildings quite bad. Outside, it's not a problem at all.
Best i ever get is about 79dbm, but on average it floats around 93-103dbm.
You can check that by dialing *#*#4636#*#* , phone information.
Could you please provide these values, network and location (ie dorset would be enough, no need for anything more precise)
Thanks a lot.
im with virgin, i'm inside at the mo and my house gives a bad signal, however its on 1bar at 102 to 107dbm avg is 105dbm. I live in the south west, Exeter
I know that my EVO will not work in Europe, but by that time I plan on having an EVO 4G LTE. I'd like to take my original EVO and use it for Skype or Google Voice. Does anyone have any suggestions if this is possible? I don't want to get an international phone and pay any extra fees, just use wifi where available.
Get groove IP, I have used it a number of time s in the states and works well. MY coworker who travels to europe often called me on it once and it worked well, Infact he said he thought it was better than magic jack when he was over seas
Hi,
I'll be taking my TMo Note 3 to Germany, and will use a local Sim there (Fonic).
It comes with 5Gb of data, and I'd like to use my phone as a modem for my laptop.
Do I need an app for that, or will the Tmobile tethering option work?
I'm on lycamobile here, and when connected via wifi, I can use Tmo usb tethering to share with my laptop.
Not sure if it will work with a 3G data connection.
If you are on a custom rom the tethering provision should allow it to work perfectly (if included). If your stock it'll check the carrier provisioning and eww to fonic...thats O2 (which is EDGE in 90% of the country, 3G is just in major areas....and midsized towns basically) unless you are going to south germany or going to like munich.
Tmobiles 3G coverage is much much more extensive there, 4G too! a lot of it.

So, if I'm rooted stock, are there apps that will work?
So far, I've had no problems over there, using Fonic or O2 in the Duesseldorg/Koeln area, but I'd be happy to try something else.
I'll check into tmobile over there.

If it does not work you can just try FoxFi. Anyways, if it works in that area it works. When I go I get dragged around so I need "Anywhere" type of reliability, I go in Aug but also to london so I think this time im just using the stock 128kbps free international. its faster then ISDN .shrug.
But O2 - Roaming from Verizon - was severely spotting for me when I was in pfalzgrafenweiler area....that edge....so much edge....so much loading. from the maps O2 is strong in cities and large towns but if your staying in a small village its a toss up

Maybe I'm just used to slow speeds!
My parents live in a smaller town, but o2 seems okay there. I don't do anything like streaming videos, while over there, and for email, websurfing and skype, it seems to work okay.
I'll install a couple of tethering apps, and hope, something works. *g*
Giffgaff worked well for me in London the past 2 years, but I'm always on the lookout for cheap!
If I had Tmobile here, I might go for the simple plan, but they told me that they might cut me off, if I only use it here for a few days, before going to Germany for 2 months.
Hello
I use my lg g4 with an imperium rom, the last, and the last kernel, taken on xda. i'm in france.
I need, for the fpv return of my drone, to be able to capture the channel 149 in 5g, (5745) which is used in China and the USA, but blocked on Europe's roms.
my phone captures one of the two channels proposed by the drone 5g wifi, namely the 36 (5180), but is very small in scope.
I managed to do it with my tablet galaxy tab s, with an international rom and a kernel idem, all taken on xda as usual, I capture the two channels emitted and indeed, the 149 offers an excellent range, I go from 50m to 400m without worry , but I can not do it with my phone.
could anyone tell me which kernel I can use with my imperial rom, who could unlock those superior bands? knowing that I tried with a lineage 14.1 rom, it works, the phone sees suddenly the two bands, but it is the rom itself that is a concern for me every day. the imperium is really the one that suits me on my phone.
thank you in advance for your enlightened advice
I made a video showing the 5G speeds of the Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G on Verizon in Venice Beach. I'll be doing more videos and testing as more 5G locations around Los Angeles show up. I was at CES last week and they had 5G in many areas of the convention which was amazing.

Let me know if you have questions!
I have the same phone over in the UK and am testing the 5G here... We only get 200 - 300 MBPS DL and 40 - 50 MBPS UL... I know its different bands / frequencies etc...
But seriously your speeds are nuts...

You're lucky living so close to Gatwick Airport. I live in Hampshire and we're yet to get the 5G treatment. I'd need to venture into Reading to experience 5G
I work in London and I get 5G at work - I get 300 in London and 200 @ GTW.
I get patches on the way to Work - Croydon I get 175. Farringdon gets 250.
Birmingham, UK. I once got 600mb/s DL but I average between 300-400 normally. This is on the Vodafone 5G network.
At CES I was getting up to 1.8Gbs download speeds on the convention floor.
You guys in the main land must be loving the 5g treatment over in Belfast I'm lucky if I get 50mbs on O2-UK
I even sent reports of the issue to get texts saying nothing is wrong.
