When I install apps, after long press on homescreen and selecting widgets- there is no app I've just installed.
What should I do to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

what launcher are you using?
Is the app on sd card or not?

is that happening with all widgets???? or just new ones your installing? which apps have you been trying to do this with???
Stock cyanogen launcher( adw if not mistaken).
All my apps on sd and it's impossible to put ANY widgets.
The only thing- setCPU widget appeared somehow and it is possible to use it.
Apps: weather, balance, tapatalk.

am no expert but what about apps that are installed directly on the phone (not on SD) is that the same issue??? am wondering if this is a problem caused by moving your apps to the SD...
I had an issue like this when I moved my apps to sd. Move some that you know have widgets back to phone memory and try again.

Hey all,
I just got my new Desire today and already installed quite a few apps. Now I was wondering if it is possible to put like the games I into a separate map so I don't have to browse through all of my programs to find something, and it will look cleaner imo.
Thanks in advance,

Not sure what you mean by maps, but you can create folders and name them, so you could make one exclusively for games. Hold down on the home screen then add folder - you rename it by opening it up, then long-pressing on the title bar.

You are right I ment Folders. But if I do what you say I create a folder on my homescreen. But I would like to make folders into my app menu(to get there you have to press the little arrow on the left bottom side of your screen) is it possible to create folders there?

Hi,
That is what the home screens are for, and that is why there are 7 of them. I don't think the apps menu is editable.
I have one home screen for games, and a folder there too for the games that won't fit on the screen.

Apps organiser
Seems to be a great app for doing just this. I've just installed it. Searched "apps" in market and had to scroll down a fair bit to find it. Did not come up when i searched apps organiser".
Just realised that i should learn how to spell before searching for an item. " Apps Organizer" :-$
Thanks for the info! Ive just
downloaded apps organizer and set it up. put 2 folders on my homescreen(1 called apps and the other one games) and it works fantastic, so my problem is solved. thanks guys!!

HI
I flashed CM7.0.2.1 the latest stable version. everything was going well.
I changed a setting on ADWex i was using. It forced close now everytime i reboot it force closes immediately so i cant even change the theme or switch back to launcher pro. I finally had everything set nice. so I backed it up and restored to skyraider 3.5 so i could use the phone. before i start guessing and bury myself deeper any suggestions I use ROM Manager and would like to not have to spend hours on this. any help would be great.
Thanks
What did you change on ADW?
Is ADW on your phone storage or SD?

questionable answer
the ADWx is where the rom goes to. honestly i am not sure i believe the sd storage. as far as the setting i believe it actually a change of theme. it was done on the ex version of ADW not the one that CM comes with if that is any help
fixed
I was able to get to settings, uninstalled adwex and all is well, until i get bored again and start playing around.
Thank you for the effort!!
Pretty sure ADW needs to be on your internal phone storage to work properly.

Agreed. I remember when I first started playing with Apps2Sd I put ADW on the SD and it was acting strange. I don't think launchers work well from the SD.

Had a similar issue with a restored launcher pro plus...clear data through the manage application menu.

Hi,
I Have installed couple of apps. Most of them are installed on SD card. When I organize those in each page (like one page for photography, other for rooting and etc). Why do phone always mix up those after a restart? All my apps installed on my card are move to last pages.
I had this issue even before I root the phone. :-S

If you are on 2.3.2, I guess that's the SE launcher bug. Secondly I could think of that the launcher could get access to the application only after the SD Card scanning is completed. Hence it could be plugged in at last.
I guess that too, what I did to fix this is installing Go luncher.
Bonus: Folders inside application drawer and task manager. Sexy!

my gf is having this problem on her phone, and i'm only finding solutions here for rooted phones and she can't root it because of the warranty. do you have some other solutions for her problem?
She's just going to have to move as many apps as possible to the SD.
Go Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>On SD Card
Then tick everything available.

she moved everything she could and she doesn't have that much apps, and still having same problem..
is there any other solution?
I don't think so, other than being selective over what she has installed.
My girlfriend was in the same boat until I rooted her phone and flashed a new ROM with a2sd support.

Photographs and music, Facebook friends synced to contacts, and web pages not cleared eat memory, clear caches as well.
sent using tapatalk
Also, Gmail and Contacts chew up memory like 20mb each easily.
Another thing to remember is that you have to restart the phone for most of the savings to show up after changes. It does help to restart it about once per day to keep the caches clean, etc.
This worked for me. No S-OFF needed.

After I moved a bunch of apps to the SD card when I restart the phone now it removes most of the apps. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Anyone stumbled into this issue?

I am on Nameless rom. Very solid but this aspect is not. I can setup the screens how I want them BUT if I have to restart/reboot/shutdown it removes everything I have done since moving any apps to SD.
It's a known bug from the launcher. Any home screen shortcuts to apps moved to SD card disappears after reboot.
You may use Nova Launcher instead of the default one as a workaround.
