Hey everyone, everytime i try to put my phone into usb debugging mode, a red triangle icon pops up in place of the normal debugging icon. I've been trying to root my phone with cwb but it says phone is not connected. Any reason why I'm getting this error when i switch to debugging mode? Thanks

So, in the notification drawer, its telling you that usb debugging is enabled, but has the alert triangle beside it? I only get that triangle while in mass storage mode. Does the pc recognize the phone in any way i.e. removeable disk f?

when i connect it as a mass storage drive, the computer sees it

problem need a little help. as i plug phone into computer i get nothing but charge.Look in my computer and shows up but when click on it it says insert card.can put in recovery and usb that way.....also can adb and phone shows up in command..any help why it doesnt give me the option when i plug it into usb port would be great...
If phone is not shown I believe you are missing drivers. Check your device manager and follow this steps http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install
Now if you want to access SD card but phone only charge maybe you or someone else clicked "remember this" while selected option "charge only" in past and phone does NOT prompt anymore. What are you trying to do ?

I am having a problem when I connect my phone to PC. I get the attached screen after connecting the cable, and the phone memory drives never show up.
(dark blue screen that shows date and time "Alarm", "Music", "Gallery", and "Voice Search at the bottom)
It happens both in debugging and non-debugging modes. Also, the GPS icon on top of the taskbar starts blinking shortly after connecting. MTB connecting does not start.
I have no idea where this page comes from!!
Thanks
P.S.-Sorry that I could not embed the image here in this post since I have posted less that 10 posts in this forum.
You got USB drivers installed on PC.....is it Windows....or Mac?
What do you see if you pull down Notification Blind?
What is the symbol on the top left Notification ?
Does PC give any message regarding drivers when phone connected, with USB debugging selected on phone?
Are you using supplied micro USB cord?

The USB drivers are fine, It was working before on this PC.
I can not pull down the Notification bar like I do on normal screen.
The symbol on left was for SetCPU notification. I have flashed the stock ROM again and everything is clean, problem still exists.
PC gives no message, even the phone does not charge!
I am using the original USB cable.
Thanks

Sounds HW related problem!!!
You try different USB ports, different cords, different PC or Laptop....just to eliminate everything but the phone!!!
Can ODIN see phone, in Download Mode?? Here also you need USB Debugging selected.
Something like this, left box should be Yellow:

The only thing that I need to try is a different cable.
It also looks HW issue to me.
I could connect it in Download mode to flash the stock ROM after several connecting and disconnecting the usb cable.
I may take it for warranty tomorrow. Is flashing the stock ROM is enough to have the phone looks like factory defaults. It looks unrooted and no recovery mode now.
Thanks

it may just be the cable/usb cord!!!
I'd say if you are now on Stock FW, and have restored Stock Recovery, and un-rooted, you are OK for Warranty.......
Let us know how you get on,
Cheers.
Yes It was cable. it works fine with another cable.
Thanks

make sure your phone is disconnected from the computer and then try going into the settings and in the top section that is wireless and networks press more, then USB utilities, and press connect storage to PC and then plug your phone into the computer. had about the same problem and came across that.
You can also try going into your device settings on your pc (samsung/modem) and resetting the driver it seems to get "stuck" sometimes.

+1 to this... its the new way to connect
I put this on my sd card (by taking the card out of the phone) and putting it in a card reader. I flashed the file from the stock recovery and this gave me custom recovery. Then I restored my previous backup. I was having the same issue and FB21 has too many bugs. I went back to gingerbread but kept fb21 modem.
You can actually get MTP working quite simply...

Did this and that got my computer to acknowledge I had connected my phone but not it says unrecognized, so I'm going to uninstall kies and then reinstall again and see if that helps

I replied to your post in the flashing post, try to disk ##8778# and put your phone in"AP" that should work.. remember you put it in "cp" when choosing do you have to put it back to the way it was so your phone can be recognized by your computer man. Try that and let me know if it works.
I can'tget mine to get recognized by my pc

I had similar problems with my wife's phone. The answer was sending it back to Samsung - there seems to be some type of manufacturing problem with the USB port itself. One way to check for this is to try turning on USB Debugging Mode. On my wife's phone, prior to the fix, it would not let me set that claiming that the phone was connected - when it wasn't! After the fix, the USB is far more reliable than ever.
Im trying to root my Evo 4g but it wont connect to the computer. When i plug it in it starts charging but i cant find it on 'my computer'. I made sure it was set to disc drive. i have tried different cords and ever different phones with the same cord. the other phone will connect just fine.. i have tried downloading several different drivers but none work. i tried doing a factory reset thinking it was a software problem on the phone. my last theory is that the port on the phone is bad. but the phone still charges so im not 100% sure about that. any ideas on what else i can do to fix this problem?
Go into Menu - Settings - Applications - Development. Make sure USB debugging is checked.

Also, install HTC Sync, it's on your SD Card by default, and then uninstall it, so the drivers for the Evo are on your computer
Has your phone been rooted and flashed to another rom?
Sometimes the usb port for your phone is broken. Mine is so I have to put the sd card directly into the computer using a adapter

Have you made sure your phone is not waiting for a verification that you want to turn USB storage on? I turn it on and then forget to hit "OK" on the popup verification at least once a day.
