You will need to download Metamorph - free on the market. That thread is old, but has a lot of fonts to choose from.
There are quite a few ways to change fonts since you are rooted (ADB push, root explorers, etc.) but this is the easiest.
Hope this helps!
You can also search for the free app on the market called font switcher something. Just search for "font switcher." It's the easiest I know of since it'll automatically download and apply fonts.

I tried custom font switcher and then my phone wouldn't boot you. I had to restore from a nand backup.

Probably you mean "Font Changer." I find it quite easy to install fonts with Font Changer. Just download the .ttf format of the font, copy it in the Font Changer folder, apply and reboot. The instructions are provided in the app interface.

I had that happen once but figured it was an error with installing busybox.

okay so i dont really like sense's transition animations so i started searching for some new ones and came up with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920024
decided to share it with the G2/DZ community cause i know some of you guys dont like sense transitions either
im using virtous unity, i dont see why it woudnt work on any other rom
REMEMBER TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE DOING THIS just so if you want the original transitions back or if anything goes wrong or if your rom is not compatible etc
i recommend using the metamorph method, its way easier
for those who arent familiar with metamorph u can dl it for free on the market and do the following:
1-download the transition youd like from here :
https://bitly.com/bundles/haxzamatic/1?preview=1
2-place the zip in the root of the sdcard (or any other folder you want)
3-open metamorph and select Unzip/Extract new theme
4-go to the root of your sdcard or the folder you made and select the zip
metamorph will extract the zip and a new window will pop up select close (pretty much your only choice)
5- tap where it says SubTheme: framework-res.apk
Located in /system/framework/
(Requires Reboot)
your device will reboot and there you have it new transitions!!
im using the fold ones myself and they look amazing!!
awesme.thanks
nice work. thanks
bumping !

I tried this action but it did not work. I also think it screwed with the backlight on my keyboard? I realize this should happen but that is only thing I can think of that would have done it. Is there any way to reverse this?

if you restored your backup its like if you never tried this on your phone, so its something you did before or it can be due to the ROM youre using

Problem is, I've flashed a few ROMs since then. I need to find out when the system location is that contains the config. for the soft buttons and keyboard.

these dont change all the fonts from what i seen, I have tried fontomizer it downloaded the font and installed it, and applied from go launcher advanced menu. Somehow only go setting s changed but not the system settings and system font
Seemed like all the fonts changed for me with Metamorph. I used it to put the system font back in also on a ROM where the font was too small.
I tried font changer and interstingly..busybox cant access root... no idea why

This is the stock font just flash it.
I change my font after every rom flash back to Veggie Burger that I really like. After trying a couple of methods, this is the one that works for me.
I have 3 files saved to a folder on my sdcard labeled:
Clockopia.ttf
DroidSans-Bold.ttf
DroidSans.ttf
I copy these 3 files using Root Explorer and paste them in the /system/fonts folder and then reboot phone.
There are alot more .ttf files in this folder (not sure what they all do), but I have never had any problems with this method after flashing any rom (from EC05 to EH17).

I do it the same way, except I saved the font folder from an old version of bonsai rom to my sd card to copy back whenever I switch roms.
Custom font switcher does it too. Needs root and busy box.

Yes.
If you use Custom Font Switcher from the Market, you can always choose whatever you want, and go back to the old Stock Font whenever you want though, without the worries of what needs to be replaced using root explorer.

And where do I get the fonts from?
I edited the original APK to have a translucent background. When I signed and adb installed it, I got a user information error or something. Long story short, I managed to delete the original and the modified version. I didn't make a backup in TI either. Any help would greatly appreciated. I screwed the pooch!

Thanks buddy! Worked by replacing in system/app...

I believe since it is a system app you have to change the permissions before you install it via adb.

don't know if he gave you a stock or a clear
here's mine with clear background
http://www.multiupload.com/UXPU06DBMI
is the stock DIGITAL CLOCK .apk with the background set to clear.
from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1298589
if you have the stock and want the clear without having to mess with it here it be.
I installed a font through font installer root found in the market. The font only applies to part off the system. I tried to go back to my stock font but I can't seem to get it. Does anyone know how to uninstall these fonts? Our do I need to go into recovery and back up to my nandroid?

Hello everyone...
When I was in 4.1.2, I can change my font easily. I install apk font package and use it simple.
But on 4.2.2 I can't change it. I can select samsung default fonts only. When I install apk font package I can't change to it's fonts. I have an error like that: The font package unsupported on your device!
Any way for this issue? Can anyone help me?
My device is rooted
Thanks

Need not root to change font in this case. Just you download flipfonts apk from xda and install after that you can change the font style

If rooted try rom toolbox, there is a free and paid version in play store. It also has themes, splash screens, and of course fonts.
I'm starting to hate JB 4.2
I'm having the same problem. I tried to flip fonts but does not work. RomToolBox but neither worked (my phone is rooted). And to top it off, I tried to apply the "font.zip ubuntu" through CWM and it did not work. I do not know what else to try ...
Update:
Applying the zip via CWM it overwrites the "default font" BUT it is not automatically set. After reboot, you must select one other source, such as "Choco cooky" and then select the default font again, hence the source you made the flash appears.

iFont works if you're rooted. I've used it with a galaxy s4 and g flex.
I do not have any problems installing flip fonts on my Note 8 4.2.2
But for the people that do have problems.
Give this a try...download the flip fonts you like and copy them into.... system/app with root explorer and them from there try to install them see if that works for you.
Hoping this helps
