Well, im currently running Frozen Syndicate Rom and like it. Any Roms you guys could recommend to me, im interested in trying some new ones! Im still a little bit of a noob at hacking the Epic but I think I can handle any info ahaha. Please Reply!

All roms are rooted
First you root your phone then you can install a custom rom
Ruins don't root your phone u do that through a one click rooter you find in development stickies

Follow the instructions in the top of the threads (stickies) on how to root your phone. Then follow the instructions included for the ROM you choose. Most require you to convert your file system to EXT4 and be on Clockwork Mod 3.0.0.6. So read carefully and post your questions here in the Q&A section.

Its definitely a big pond to jump into. Rooting and flashing ROMS, to say the least can become an addiction. I have been lurking XDA for a short time now. Owned my epic for about a month until i started making my own changes and trying different ROMs ( when FROYO {2.2} updated my phone began to SUCK so off I went; cannon ball into the pond) one of the biggest helps to me was youtube and the "epic cookbook" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=967014.... definitely a HUGE help. also simple problems have simple answers. Many others have asked and can be answered with the search field. After you jump in and have a succesful root & flash you will have wondered why you waited. I am no "pro" but am willing to help if needed. Good luck
As for the best.... oneclickroot either 2.5 or 3.0 are wonderful. however i have had much more luck with 3.0 running ext4. Now asking which ROM is better is like asking which car is best, all types of answers. Really depends on what you want and your "taste"
Yes thanks for your replies. I may have not asked my question correctly. I came from the Hero and I rooted that phone till it couldn't be rooted anymore! I'm just on the Epic now and not sure where to begin and where the best rom I should flash. Hero had cyn 2-.2 and thought about flashing gingerbread but just decided to upgrade to the Epic. I'll check around XDA in the stickies.. thx for your replies and further advice is surely appreciated!

I don't know if any of them have EVO 4Gs anymore; the development has sorta split up because they have different phones
I've seen replays in the kernel thread that they r working on a 3.0 release of the kernel but from what I've heard mist of them have moved onto other phones. To bad cause the kernel was incredible. I never used the rom. No eta on the updated kernel as of yet either

I tried going to their forums just the other day but all of the links I tried are no longer writing ): I was looking forward to downloading their latest stable rom as well as kernel, but no dice ): can anyone help me out?? I loved their rom but I wiped my computer and didn't back anything up because I couldn't. Someone help me out please lol

Agreed I was trying to get the latest rom. And the forum and mirror were down. I flashed it before and loved the rom kernal combo. But had a GPS issue that I could not figure out. But now that I fixed that I wanted to go back to it. If anyone has the rom/kernal please share.....

I apologize for the maybe redundant question this forum doesn't have a lot of help/assistance. Coming from the senastion there was/is always someone ready to give help/advice. I bought the Samsung Galaxy S II T-989 yesterday and I am looking for help/direction to be able to flash BLACKEDITION FOR THE SGS2 4-3-2012-ICS. What do I do first, second, third and so on?
All help is very appreciated.

Make sure you wipe VERY THOROUGHLY! Use the super darkside wipe that can be found in our dev forums. Then flash. If you get bootloops, or get stuck at the boot screen for a crazy long time rewipe and try again. Remember that even on a successful flash it WILL hang on the samsung screen for quite a while. PM me if you need more help, sadly help is hard to come by around here.

I want to thank you for you kind response and offer to help. I am coming from the Sensation and everyone was always willing to help each other help it is like trying to move mountians. People often forget where they came from and their first time. I was fortuniate to come across damngood98 who helped me throught the whole process. Besides BlackEdition are there any other roms that have custom Icons?
We have really good gingerbread rims, ics is a bit too buggy for me. Try m & s Blu ray. Its heavily themed and beautiful and fast. 3 different themes to choose from with icons.

M&S does have nice roms and maybe they would look different on the phone but I had already chose and set up Darkside's rom. I was looking for a rom that gave 5 Icons ie (phone, contacts, messaging, application, home). I can't find TW Launcher on Darkside's Rom though.
If you haven't already tried it, Google search touchwiz 4.5. It runs a hell of a lot smoother than regular tw, and it's more customizable

Hi im a TOTAL noob so im asking my first question...here goes. Im currently running CM10 on my gs3 im wondering if i could actually flash a rom from another phone and carrier completely...i wanna know if i can flash THE MOTOROLA Q TO A GS3...i love the motorola q's rom the tablet style on screen command buttons and just the look and feel of the the rom but i also am in love with my gs3...basically im asking CAN I TURN MY GS3 INTO THE MOTOROLA Q....sorry if i talked too much and if im not completely "CLEAR" on what im asking...like i stated before im a NOOB please dont kill me

It's not a "most likely", it definitely will. Don't even stray from these forums, T-999 ONLY.
Yeah sounds to me like your getting ahead of yourself. You have one of the best phones around, good community around why get a brick for a "Motorola Rom". Android is android won't be a drastic different between rooms just relax and enjoy a 699.99 phone.

I'm not going to ask which is best. That's like kicking myself in the testes. But... Ihave searched a few. Watched reviews . kinda did my hw.
But can anyone suggest a ROM close to stock, least issues, has the multi window function working for all apps. Better tweaks. Overally... What the touch wiz was throttled back for.
Im currently on dirty unicorn, tried jelly bomb and ooooh man... I wanted the jedix20 soooo bad. But they didn't port it to sprint. Just everyone else. I did hear someone had a sprint fix to it. But I couldn't find it. Nor can I really trust it.
But I'd love to play with the Jedi if possible.
Main problem is that since the sprint galaxy note 2's lifetime is nearly up. Had the developers have abandoned it for the note 3. The other half is completely giving up on it as soon as the note 4 comes out. So... Hence recently updated. So... If anyone can suggest a few good ROMS, ILL CHECK THEM ALL OUT! But since there are so many, and half are just dead. I'd like live suggestions. Please.
If anyone knows how to get the Jedi x20 into sprint note 2 I'd be most appreciative.
