That may be the case, but Google can't find anything, nor can the XDA search. I too would like to have something like the webtop for my EVO. The only way I found this page was the auto search when I was about to post another thread!
On a related note, are there any micro HDMI extension cables? I think it would be awesome to use the dock or laptop dock with my EVO. I think it's pretty funny that Motorola went with a 180 degree micro HDMI connector compared to the HTC connectors.

Evo Desktop PC is as close as you're going to get.

Is there an app that would allow you to do basic video editing on the Evo. Such as cropping or cutting portions off a video?
Hmmm interesting, I'd like to know also, that would be awesome

been trying to get something going all week. So far it looks like the youtube cloud editor is the best we have.
Apple has us owned on this one. The video editing on the iphone4 is the shizzzz
I pray for something like that soon. I despise apple their overly simplisticness
Man hopefully someone knows. I don't want to have to upload to my pc.
Not only apple but also palm, my wifes' pre has the ability to trim the video. I would love to have that ability and I thought the droid x might come with one but I haven't seen it posted anywhere.

I can actually agree in that one, the video edit system on their phones are really good. Android/Google need to get their heads thinking and use the iPhone for some ideas like this video editor and then make an even better one. But imma take a look at that app

Ive switched from a rooted eris to my wifes old incredible. I really miss root but the usb Port on the incredible is trashed. Any way to one click root without having the phone connected to a comp?

I'm 99% sure the only was is to use unrevoked.com which needs a computer.

There's a few one click root apps that claim they work on all droids. Give one a try.
Try visionary
Then use rom.manager to flash a recovery and use unrevoked forever to get s off

UnrEVOked requires USB still does it not?
How are you charging? Do you alternate two batteries in a charger then switch them?
There's some videos on youtube and also a site that sells parts for the incredible (sorry, can't find it today), like display & digitizer, that clearly show removing all parts (major assemblies) from the dinc. I think it might be possible to kludge a new usb port from wherever the traces met the old one.
Were pins broken off, or gum shoved in or worse? Just curious. I'd be trying to rip it apart to fix it
I'll look for the site that had the parts and let you know if you're interested. Found it once, so must be able to find it again. Displays were cheaper than I'd have thought.
Thanks for the help, yeah i just alternate batteries. Got an extended battery so im not switching out every five minutes. Ill take a look for replacement parts, but if you find a link that would be great. Basically the pins just got mashed in

Unrevoked forever is just a flash zip once you get a.custom.recovery
So there needs to be a way to transfer the zip to the SD, other than that it should work
I have no idea tho, but it seems plausible
Sent from my Incredible using XDA Premium App
So if i could figure out how to get a custom recovery, i could just copy the unrevoked zip file to my sd card by taking it out of my phone and plugging into my comp

Cool. OEM HTC Verizon Droid Incredible Charging Port seems like the thing to get when it's back in stock. I think any of the microUSB on-board sockets could be hacked to fit but if they've got this one here, seems like a go.
Thanks -
This may be a stupid question, but do you think these are "snap in"parts or do i need to bust out the soldering iron?

Check this one out::

It's for the EVO but I'm sure it's all similar enough. I can't really imagine that the USB port isn't soldered but I've not taken mine apart. You could contact that guy that put up the youtube video and ask him for details.
It sounds fairly doable given a fine point soldering iron and some time. He makes it sound like the combination of poor battery life , multiple usages all the time of the USB port will eventually cause it to separate from the main-board, so maybe this thing is actually reusable. I don't know how or where it separates.
So I just got an evo from a friend and the speakers are busted. I was wondering if anyone knew where to buy a speaker for it? Its the back speaker

Try googlin something that way. For instance "I hate the droid x" (<<lol) and it will pull up results with threads of people stating that. I was trying to find threads where people's speakers "went out" (messed up) to see if anyone pointed them towards a good reliable place to get a replacement speaker and too see if anyone could confirm the realibility of that place selling the speaker. That is why I googled it that way

I just ordered one for a friend of mine's Evo last week on eBay. It cost me $4 including shipping from a US seller and it arrived at my house in a few days.
The Hero uses the same speaker.... This might make it easier to find. You could always go to your local Sprint store and have it replaced for free. (Since you have TEP right?)

Agree make another 100 bucks on top of it.
I called Sprint and they offered me 150 for my EVO. I think its still better to sell it on my own, but some people might be interested in getting 150 instead of 100.
what is it??? how do i make one??? i know what it does but HOW does it work??? thanks

Go on eBay and search USB jig.
Ebay to buy one. Zedomax made a video on how to make one a long time ago. Google his name and USB jig and I'm sure it will pop up.

the link he put had a link to a guide so he show how to get here and this is what i wanted
http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-hacks/how-to-make-a-usb-jig-for-your-galaxy-s2/
It is easy enough. I tool two 150K ohm resistors and wired together and then soldered to pin 4 and 5 if I remember correctly. I used zedomax's video though it was hard to see what pins for sure. I got a cheap micro usb universal plug that I could easily take apart the case and unsolder the wires. I was able to reuse the cover with the resistors inside. Pretty simple.
No matter how you slice it the info is all over the web for you and anyone esle who wants it. Like the introduction to xda says you are probably not the first person to ask whatever question it is. I am sorry but I have an issue with people taking 10 minutes to set up a post instead of 2 minutes to search on google... Damn even 5 minutes... My bad man I get crazy sometimes but honestly there is more that one way to look crap up
Code:
Usb jig
what is a usb jig
video of usb jig
how to make a usb jig
usb jig for samsung
usb jig for epic touch
usb jig for e4gt
Try these out and I guarantee you one of them will lead you to the promise land... LOL
What is funny is if you would use the load more or next page option in q&a section of our forums its right in there.
