CM7 Landscape Lockscreen - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's experienced this, especially because there was a post about this 2 months ago ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827657 ), but has anyone figured this out? Seems like sometimes I get a lockscreen formatted in a landscape mode, but normally I get itas the portrait mode.
No idea how to recreate the event, it seems to happen SOMETIMES when the screen locks as I'm using it in landscape mode, but then it quickly reverts back to portrait before I can do anything about it.
Any one have thoughts how to enable this every time?
Thanks!

I too have experienced this. I think it cause the lockscreen is actually created when you turn off your screen. Sent you are in landscape when you turn off the lock screen is created in landscape. When you turn on your phone it realize that the lockscreen should be in portrait. And recreates it.
Its configured that way from the lockscreen Java code. Its set to sense an orientation that isn't set by the rotation sensor. I'm not sure why it is set like that except for they only want landscape with a keyboard.

I would love to see this implemented in CM7

Screen Layout

I know it's not supported by default, but is there a program or something I can do to change between landscape/portrait view? I was playing a game that changed the viewing from landscape to portrait automatically... so there must be a way, right?
Did you try to restart your phone by turning it off and back on?
Sorry that last part I worded weird. The screen went back to landscape after I closed the game. But it just got me to thinking I want to be able to switch between landscape and portrait. But I don't know of any programs that can. Is there one out there?

[Q] Auto Rotate not working as it is supposed to!

The following problem occurs only when i'm using non-sense ROM's.
The auto rotate feature is always on!
The lock screen, home screen, the phone screen etc etc always rotates. Even when I set it not to rotate on the home screen, it rotates!
The option for 0 degree, 90 degree all work fine. The sensors are also OK.
When i completely turn off the auto rotate it stops all right but it is not a solution as all apps like the gallery for instance also stops.
Currently I'm using BlackIce 1.25. This also occurs on Cyanogen, Oxygen (basically all Non-Sense roms)
MIUI and Sense dont seen to give me this issue.
Any ideas? Sorry if this has been posted before. If so please point me to the link before showering me with your blessings (read abuses)
Edit: I should tell you guys that i also have a problem regarding the phone call going to speaker phone automatically! Might be that the 2 of them are connected... any ideas please!

This is the way CM roms are made to work. Auto rotate is supposed to work as one setting across the whole system. Sense stops it from doing it in Sense apps.
I think I know what you mean, could you explain better to make sure it's also my issue?
I've had weirdness where I could tell cm that I want 0, 90, 180, and 270 to be available for screen rotation, while having auto rotation set to off.
The screen would rotate regardless of my selection, unless I unselected 90, 180 and 270...

so the setting in adw launcher of the home screen orientation is over-ridden by the cyanogen mod setting???
any way i can change this maybe? it gets kind of irritating when the lock screen and home screen rotate when i expect them not to.

found out what the problem was... my calls went to speaker automatically.. my auto rotate didnt work properly.. screen kept on lighting up after every few minutes... all hell broke loose...
Also, the earphones (stock) gave a kind of a current whenever in a call/playing music!!
Gave my phone a few days of rest.. then changed my usb cable... got one that doesn't move.. as in the slot is of a perfect size so that my port and the connectors dont move...
Problem solved.. my phone works like a brand new one! (well better coz it's rooted.. ) no issues whatsoever!

[Q] Landscape Lock Screen and Caller ID

Does anyone know how to get the Lock Screen and Caller ID to support landscape on CM7?
Occasionally the lock screen will display in landscape but quickly reverts to protrait.
I have seen the caller id in landscape on other roms, so it should be possible.
Thanks,
Ben
Well, when I used to have CM7, the lockscreen would go landscape for a second and the sliders would be cut up in weird ways, so I always thought it was a bug. I've never seen a landscape caller ID, do you mean landscape while in a call?
Yes,the caller id is in landscape when the phone rings and while it is on the call.

I don't know man, I've never seen that really implemented. I saw it in the advanced settings for a rom I had on my old phone like last year but I don't remember it
I was hoping that CM7.2 RC1 would have this option but it doesn't. I drive a lot and have my phone in a vent holder in a landscape position the whole time. Even when I am charging my phone in the office I have it propped up with the kickstand.
Landscape Caller ID is in CM7.2.RC1. It is under the Settings -> Call Settings -> Enable Sensor Rotation....
All I need is the locksreen to have this option and I would have the perfect rom...

Netflix issue

This may be a known issue, but I've found nothing through searching the forum or Google.
Running GedeROM, and everything works perfectly. Netflix plays well, but won't go full screen. When it first starts, the soft buttons are visible, as always. A few seconds in, the buttons hide, but netflix does not resize to fill the screen, so I have a half inch border around whatever is playing.
This is not a big deal but, with a seven inch screen, I'd like to be able to use as much of the screen as possible.
Is anyone else having this problem, and is there a known fix or different ROM recommendation?
Thanks in advance!
If your having the problem of netflix only being in portrait mode try toggling the screen rotation back and forth this should allow it to rotate to landscape mode sometimes it gets a little sticky also make sure you have 180 degree rotation enabled.
Thanks, but that's not the problem. Switching from protrait to landscape IS sticky, but does work
Netflix firsts starts filling MOST of the screen, except for the bottom half inch with the Back, Home and Multitask switcher buttons visible. After 3 seconds, these buttons shrink off the screen but the picture doesn't expand to fill the space vacated by the disappearance of the soft buttons.
Works fine on the phone and other devices...
Oh, I should mention that my other devices are running variants of Gingerbread, and in one case Froyo. This may be a function of ICS.
Being that gedeRom has true fullscreen maybe there is a feature that you don't have enabled auto hide or something of that nature maybe someone would know better than I cause I don't run gede have but not presently
Have you tried holding the power button a few seconds and then choosing to hide the status bar?
Do you have auto hide enabled under system in the settings menu?

Thanks, Desanko. Turns out I'm an idiot. Problem solved!

Question Auto rotate bug?

My P6 Pro is doesn't always auto rotate (it is enabled in QS) I'm rooted (Magisk 24.3), and am on April's FW. I am using Nova Launcher Prime v7.0.57. The other bug I have is: I have home screen folders with 8+ shortcut Icons inside. When I am in portrait mode, I can swipe up to scroll through the folder's icons, but when the phone is in landscape mode - the folders are not scrollable. only the first 6 icons are viewable Is this just me or anyone else with Nova Launcher Prime v7.0.57 can try this?
EDIT... Nova settings--> folder--> window-->immersive. fixed the folder scroll issue
but still have the auto rotate issue
I'm using Nova Launcher Prime v7.0.57, and one of my folders on my home screen (technically in my dock) that I have set to open the folder when I swipe up on works perfectly for me in landscape and portrait including scrolling to get to the additional items in the folder. Tried rebooting?
Edit: Disregard about the folder - I see you found the cause.
Regarding auto-rotate, I think my auto-rotate has been better than it used to be. It mostly affects me when I'm using Google Reader and it didn't always rotate in a timely manner - but I also haven't been reading lately. Rotating on images or videos have always been fine that I recall.
The auto rotate on my P6P is messing up sometimes too, but I'm on completely stock and unrooted. Fully update to date as well.
Sometimes when I rotate my phone into landscape mode it doesn't change, even if I wait a while, so then I rotate it back to portrait mode to try again but as I'm rotating it back to portrait mode it then momentarily DOES switch to landscape mode for a half second and then back into portrait mode since I'm now holding it in portrait mode.
Doesn't work when playing back videos for me.

To add to what I said previously, you could long-press the auto-rotate Quick Setting tile, and if it's enabled by default, which I think it is, then you can disable "Face Detection", which is supposed to make it a smarter auto-rotate in case you're looking at the phone from a weird angle so that it only rotates when it makes sense to.
I turned that off some time ago although I may turn it back on eventually to see if it improved.
