I recently purchased my desire hd and few days ago I installed the latest version of clockworkmod recovery did my jailbreak tried cynogenmod 7 restored original firmware and now I can't update it clockworkmod shows me status 7 when trying my update plz help me
Hmmm... I think this may be to little information for anyone with the knowledge to help you. First of all you don't jailbrake a DHD, but I guess you are talking about rooting? Did you use Visionary to gain temp rooot, and permanent root? Have you gained s-off or eng s-off.
Did you sucsefully mange to install the cynogenmod 7 rom and got it working?
Read the post in developer section about rooting, s-off, eng s-off and flashing a radio and I guess you will be a step closer to understand how this process works.
Do you have your phone up an running now with cynogenmod or stock rom?
just answer the question asked above only then we will be able to help u.. did u install cynogenmod7 and then went back to orignal stock rom? and now u cant install a custom rom through clockworkmod recovery.. if this is so then my friend... once u radio s-off and eng s-off and root access u can do anything but if u flash an official ruu rom again.. u lose everything (root access, eng s-off, radio s-off).. now u have to do it all over again.. 1st downgrading then eng s-off then radio s-off

YOU ARE Doing these well, if you flash ARev.HD later you can go back flashing an stok rom take this link for choose your OFFICIAL RUU...
http://xdafil.es/index.php?path=DesireHD/RUU/
but i think that if you taste a cooked rom you are not going back to RUU OFFICIAL ROM hahahah
CERTAINLY.. have you made HBOOT S OFF ENG-SPL????(its fully reversible flashing an stok rom) and It makes possible to recover the system of a bad flash recovery...
sorry for my bad english
What I think SERGI.3210 is trying to say, is that you need ENG HBoot or ENG S-OFF before you can flash radios.
Here are the threads you should read,
ENG S-OFF
RADIO S-OFF
I did not flash (well, I dont think I did) hboot and i don't now how to do this either the tekst in bootloader says this:
ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.0007
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
eMMC-boot
How do I make HBOOT S OFF ENG-SPL and is their a way to check if I already have it?
And what does this do?

uups!!! thanks andyharney! i forgot to put that you need ENG S-OFF to flash radios!!
certainly... take this XDA´S LINK for go back to OFICIAL RUU:
http://xdafil.es/index.php?path=DesireHD/RUU/
Use the ENG S-OFF tool in the first link to get ENG S-OFF. Without this you cannot flash radio.img's via fastboot.
Once you have ENG S-OFF use the other link to get Radio S-OFF. The tools are very easy to use and 99.9999999999999999% safe.
I took another look at the article i used to root and it said this:
you will have permanent root (S-OFF), as well as subsidy unlock and SuperCID. At this point, you can also choose to flash the engineering hboot
If you don't want the engineering hboot, just reboot your phone. You can verify you have permanent root by holding volume down while powering on (you'll see S-OFF in the first line of the bootloader). You are now free to install a new recovery and start flashing custom ROMs. If you don't want to flash a new ROM, it's safe to uninstall the Visionary app at this point.
Does this mean i already have radio S-OFF?
Hi , I have htc desire hd with leedroid hd v3.2.1 (sense removed) , i want to get radio s-off.
i have tried the easy radio tool , but it always give me unknow error probably connection. (usb debuggin is on and i have tried the trouble shooting section , turned to wi fi on , using adb shell and then su and keep window open and then click do it button on the tool)
how i got leedroid
i used visionary tool to root the phone
then i installed clockmod recovery
then i flashed leedroid
i have eng s-off , but CID is not 1111111 in system info.
how can i get radio s-off?
Thanks
I had a similar problem and was told to use ENG S-OFF tool. I have attached the file.
nope its not working , still having connection error.
but i dont need s-offf , i already have ENG S-OFF , i only need Radio S-OFF.
Read the radio S-OFF tool's requirements. You cannot use LeeDroid 3.2.1..
Try this method.

in rooted using Visionary tool in the begining , and also did the the hboot s-off , then i installed leeDroid 3.2.1. when i boot into bootloader now i can see that i have ENG S-OFF.
i need a little help for the tutorial you posted.
1. do i now need to downgrade because i installed leeDroid ?
2. the tutorial says i need to remove visionary tool , but i cant find it on the leeDroid now , how can i remove it.
If Visionary doesn't show up in 'Manage applications', it should in Titanium backup.
If you ENG S-OFF, you should be fully rooted.
Failing that you need to be looking for the Gold Card method. I didn't have to take that route, so I can't really help you with that.
Lol, if S-OFF tools do not work with LeeDroid (those don't, except ENG S-OFF tool when you already have Radio S-OFF), that manual method does not work either.
And it is totally useless to try to root a custom ROM. Just saying..

is it possible that i flash to stock rom , then try your tool and once i get radio s-off , i flash the leedroid back again ?
the stock rom i have is
stock_r1-1.32.405.6-update-ace-sense-stock
the main objective is actually to flash the leedroid recommended radio , i know i can still flash it with the eng-off , but if i go ahead without radio s-off , then i wont be able to flash any other radio ? is that true ? and also can i get the radio s-off later some time by flash the stock rom and starting over again with rooting and other stuff ?
Flash Raidroid 1.32.405.6, that is the easiest method. Then you can just flash LeeDroid again in ClockworkMod.
thanks for the solution . will the following workflow work
1.i backup my leedroid via clockmod.
2. i flash radroid
3. i use your tool to radio s-off
4. i restore from the leedroid backup with clockmodrecovery.
will this work , i m just trying to save my data.
EDIT : the above method worked like a charm , thanks jokoljo for the one click easy radio s-off tool.
thanks for this thread.
in the evening, i will try the same method as you described in the last post.
I did exactly the same as you did.
Let's hope that it will work with mine, too
regards
P.S. : I will tell you if it worked
Confirmed
worked on my phone (like a charm), too
Thank you
Hi, running wildfire (buzz), froyo 2.2.1 hboot x....0002.
I have tried following the big messy sticky guide in general forum. I think I have AlphaRev and CWM installed. The HBOOT shows 6.01.0002, S-OFF and I get CMW when I go to recovery. But when I try to test if I have root when I boot into htc sense the test app says no. No superuser or root. Am I missing something? Every single guide I have found here says alpharevx or revoked should give root..
The guide says to RUU from 2.2.1 to 2.1. Is this necessary when I want to install a custom rom?
Any and all help much appreciated.
Unrevoked will root the phone along with installing custom recovery by a nand exploit.
But alpharevx neither roots the phone nor installs custom recovery. It turns off the nand security to make rooting (+ installing custom recovery) easier. So if you made s-off with alpharevx, then you need to root and install custom recovery on your own (which are very easy)..
And you dont need to downgrade with an RUU. Just go with this link..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15226717&postcount=68 .
Also check the complete wildfire index thread from dev section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318 .
Edit: oh.. didn't get you clearly. Looks like you have custom recovery installed. Anyway, you can check the above link for rooting. And to install custom roms, you just need cwm recovery installed. Downgrade from 2.2.1 to 2.1 (using RUU) is not necessary in any case. And to root your stock rom just use superone click root method or gingerbreak.apk or you can also install Su binary (= rooting) from cwm recovery. And you dont need to root a custom Rom because custom roms will be already rooted. Another thing you need to remember is some roms need cwm version 2.x while others need cwm version 3.x or above. You need to shift between recoveries according to that need . On how to do that, check the index thread.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Flash Superuser Binary in Clockworkmod. There's absolutely no need to use any RUU / Unrevoked if you have got Clockworkmod Installed.
Download SU Binary here:
http://bit.ly/su2361ef
Flash, and check for root again. This will give you a rooted Stock ROM.
Alternatively, if you just want to change ROMs , you dont need to be "rooted". Just a Custom Recovery like Clockworkmod will do. So, if that's your ultimate goal, just flash the new ROM. Again, dont touch RUUs/Unrevoked.
Thank you, both for clearing that up. I must say the sticky post is way way over complicated and dead wrong on the process. Since it's a sticky it needs to get cleaned up by someone who knows about it.
It's not a sticky actually. (I assume you are referring to this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1145035)
I posted my views there but everyone seems happy with that, so whatever suits the individual I guess.
I have posted an overview of the process here (This is a sticky thread, so I kinda hope you are not referring to this one ):

Hi, I have the same problem as micnolmad.
I'm running wildfire:
BUZZ PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.01.1002
I used AlphaRev to get S-OFF, and change from HBOOT 1.01.0002.
I thought it was meant to convert HBOOT to 1.01.0001, but for some reason it's now 6.01.1002. Not sure if this is important? At least the phone's now S-OFF, which should enable rooting?
However, booting into HTC sense, rom manager syays I do not have root!
I have clockwork 3.0.0.6 but when I use it to install cyanogen 7.0.3, the installation says successful, and then freezes on start up.
Any ideas?
Did you perform all the wipes in clockwork (Data, cache,Dalvik Cache) before flashing your new rom, these are important and cause problems if not done!!
Also read this thread, the posts above mention flashing su binary to get root.

Hi, I wiped Data, cache, Dalvik Cache, and have superuser and CWM v4.0.14 installed. On flashing cyanogen mod 7 ROM it installs successfully, but freezes on bootup?
????????
hello, as i said my wildfire with HBOOT 1.01.0002 and it's written that it's S-OFF but when i try to flash recovery it wont. i rooted my phone before but i installed stock 2.2.1 rom recently. so do i have to make the whole process from the beginning and downgrade then S-off and all that stuff?
PLEASE answer me i'm afraid of bricking my phone and i do really need to root it now. will there be a problem if S-off while it's already s-off?
This also happened to me when I re-installed the stock ROM on my Wildfire. I did the whole process from the beginning again and it worked like a treat.
Message me if you need any help.

What method are you using to flash the recovery? Fast boot is not enabled on that bootloader version. You must use the pc49img method.
Flash the Revolutionary HBOOT
Fastboot flash hboot hboot.img
Or you can use the dd if of method.

thank you for answering i have solved the problem
Hi guys, so the owner wiped everything from the phone and he want it back to stock now
S-ON and no custom recovery installed,
I've googled for a method to turn S-OFF but they all require a rooted ROM. what to do?
thanks in advance.
I have answered how to s-off and root Desire HD before in many threats. You can see this post.
You can also check here a newest guide. In this guide as I think you are installing a prerooted rom instead of unlocking bootloader with htc_devs unlock and flashing custom recovery to root the device.
You can check an other helpful guide here.
