Have you ever used them on anything? Just wondering if they come off without leaving gum on the phone.

no but the moment i get one ill be sure to report how it is
According to the site this is what they say
Easy On - Easy Off
Durable, automotive-grade, 3M &tm vinyl for easy application and residue-free removal.

Thanks. I've looked at those skins for other devices but don't know anyone who has actually tried them. They look good on the website.
These work really well. My wife has had a few different ones on her iPod and they stay put, are easy to install, and don't leave any residue. I would recommend them to anyone.
I also had one on my N1. It was pretty nice and held up well. I've actually got a couple pics of it on the eBay listing I have for it now. It was a stormtrooper with a blaster. I think they will put pretty much any pic you want on the skin.
I have used these on ipods and xbox controllers they come off just fine dirt builds up around edges a little rubbing alcohol takes it right off

and just like with cases, I imagine they don't make any for the extended battery?
Very durable.
I have one of their skins on the front of my PC (It was free when I bought it...)
Since it's vinyl and not plastic, I'm sure you could trim it with an Exacto knife to put it on an extended battery, but I know that's not the same thing.
I wonder if someone sent them an ext cover if they'd be willing to mock one up?
I've used gelaskins brand skins before and they leave no residue. Alas, none available for TB yet. If these are similar vinyl I wouldn't think residue would be much of an issue.
Does it stick against clothes? I'm thinking about it, but I wouldn't get it if it makes hard to take out of my pocket.

My company gave skinit's out for its last birthday and I picked up one for my old moto droid. They work fine, they don't peel at the edges, no residue, no issues taking it in and out of my pocket. Only problem I had was with the front panel sticker, it didn't seem to fit as well as I would have liked, so I ditched it.
I eventually got bored of it and just peeled all of it off, came off in one quick peal.
One thing to note (iirc) the front sticker covers the softkeys in the front bottom. I didn't use this on the moto droid so I can't say anything about it affecting usage.
The gelaskins for the TB are out, but they do not include a front sticker, it seems.
http://gelaskins.com/store/skins/phones/HTC_Thunderbolt/
i'm using a real dry carbon fiber skin from skinomi... fits perfect and looks slick
I had a skin on my EVO I believe was from DecalGirl, but the edges of the stickers raised a little, so after a few weeks it took extra effort not to accidentally peel them off. Could be fixed by making them thinner, tapering the edges, or overdosing the edge with adhesive. Are these better?

I have been using since original post no peeling at all and my phone goes in and out of my pocket alot. For application I did wipe my phone well with alcohol taking off the oil from my hands
It does not affect usage of my front buttons. Although it does diminish the light.
Every sticker fit perfectly on the phone not to big or small.

How do you think this skin would work if I used my phone in a case sometimes? Would it play nicely or do you think it would be a problem? (Yes, I realize the silliness in putting a case on a phone with a skin - I personally use my phone both with a case, sometimes, and naked at other times.)

I have had the same skin installed on my phone, it fits fine in the case-mate pop case. I haven't had any issue with it or with the car mount.
I had to exchange my TB just last week and it took some real effort to actually peel off the skin. I am getting a second set for the new unit soon.
PS. I think the phone wit skin would fit fine in a soft/rubber/gel case but hard case like seidio surface which is very tight fitting. I think that will create an issue.
I would say it would fit easily inside almost all cases maybe even all.
It's less then 1/16th in thickness
If I still had a micometer I would check it for you but its really not serious.
Tapatalk
Skin makes it difficult to put on a hard case... Even though it is not very thick it still makes it difficult to put a hard case on and if you do use it with a hard case the case will screw up the skin and put creases on the skin as well as scratch marks on the skin.

Got the case today, decided to take some first-hand pictures. Unfortunately I have to wait until Friday until it can wrap around a phone. But, I figured I would post some photos and first impressions.
I must say that it feels amazing in your hand. The material is soft, but not too soft. Build quality of the case appears to be very nice. There are a few spots where it appears there are rough edges, but once on a phone they would not be noticeable.
The case in it's package
Here you can see the felt material on the inside of the case
Back of case
Bottom
Compared to my Hero w/ a cheapo hard/rubberized case
So there is a soft felt-like material in there....hmm... will definitely need to look into that. If you drop your phone, how well do you think the case would handle it?
I love hard shell outside/rubber interior cases because they can take a beating (wife's Speck iPhone case)

If it's anything like my Hero's case, it will do great. The case is taking a nice beating but the phone is mint.
i used the simple silicone skin from sprint with my hero and it was great. it definitely attracted lint and was hard to take out of the pocket, but i dropped the phone on concrete numerous times and it just bounced with absolutely no damage to the phone, even when dropped screen-down. i'm worried the seidio case would be less shock absorbent as it's not really rubber

My Hero's case has held up really well. I dropped my phone on my garage floor and it slid about 2 feet. No damage to the phone.
its alot like the best buy one made by Seidio seen in this thread http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=207109
Now, all you need is the phone! lol
Seidio Innocase looks hot.
I ordered my Seid case but I think I might have screwed myself. I'll most likely order the big battery when it is released and I assume I'll need a different case. Does Seidio usually mane an Innocase for the larger battery?
Best Buy carries the same case but under a Best Buy house brand name. The Seidio name is on the box though. On the back of the case it says "Pt" instead of Seidio. Just got it today. They have it in gun metal, black, and purple. $29.99. It's an awesome case. Perfect fit.

I actually thought it was a little loose, too. The case is clipped on snug, but it feels a bit wobbly in certain areas. Definitely not something that takes away from the quality of the case, but I wish it were a bit more snug.

UPDATE: hey guys updated my post with better pictures (with the realook screen protector on) I've dropped my phone once from my pocket (about 3 ft) to the pavement and it didnt have one single bump or scratch on it! everything still looked new and even the gel case!
Hey guys I just purchased the black T-Mobile gel skin for $10 (discount from friend) which originally sells for $16.99 and I am loving it! I've had so many smartphones in the past and would always use a hard shell case because I hated the gel skin so much! My friend used a gel skin on her mytouch and after a couple of weeks it became so loose it would slip right out. The material was very thin and it stretched out not fitting the phone anymore. This particular gel skin is really thick and durable! It feels great holding it and has a good grip.

this is how much space there is when you slide in the phone to the top. this for sure shows that it is a good firm fit and will never fall out or get loose at all.
There are no cut outs for the power button and volume rocker because the skin has its own buttons for those and they actually feel better than the phones! its easier shutting off your screen and adjusting the volume.
as for the realook screen protector it is reallllly nice. wasnt too hard to put on and plus if you do mess up you can wash it and reapply again. screen still looks the same with it on and my gf didnt even notice it haha she thought i was lying! anyways i love this combo that i have right now and wont have to buy any accessories for a really long time.
Back to the Future FTW!
I think that's because (maybe) Samsung makes these? They look awfully similar in design to the other cases they have the Samsung Store.
I'm getting this one tomorrow as I wait for my mesh case.

It's a T-Mobile branded case, but I'm not sure if Samsung designed the cases for them? i could be wrong.
the gel cases from the Samsung website has a bigger cut out for the speaker than T-Mobile's version.
yep, i have it. we have very few options for cases right now, so i went with this. I like it for a gel case, but when a few more come out i may switch to a harder case. we will see, but for now its good

I'll see how well this goes for now and will probably get a hard shell case too only if this stretches out more in the future, but I'm happy with what i got.
I had the case when it came out and I think the quality of the case and protection is awesome BUT the Gel material picks up dust very easily. There are other Gel type cases that do not do this so if it's not a problem for you then this is an excellent case for you.
This is what I am stuck with for now. Six Tmo stores have been out of stock on the black gel case since the 19th, yesterday they all got 3 teal ones in stock so I bit the bullet and bought it because I need it. When the black ones come in I will exchange for it. Overall I love the feel of it and for some reason it makes the screen look bigger. Also ever time I look now it reminds me an iphone 3gs. I just hope they will make a make case or something that will hold it on my belt.

I am looking for a gel, silicone or plastic(not hard plastic) case that does not collect dust and will slip in a holster. Anyone know of a good one?
I also have the black gel case. LOVE it!!! dont see any reason to change it.
I want the teal one!
So does anybody know why these aren't available on the t-mobile website? Is it simply a supply problem? I find it crazy that this phone has been out for a couple of weeks now and still not a single case available via the internet from a domestic supplier. No T-mobile store in my town, so am I just up a creek?
I love the black gel case that I bought on day 1. The only semi-negative is the dust collection issue and (for us girls) makeup rubs off on it too. Other then that, it is great, appears to protect the phone from drops (sorry to say has happened to me already) and it gives it a nice grip on my dash when I need to set it up there for navigation use.
Does the gel cling to your clothing when you put it in or take it out of your pocket?
Yes it does. It attracts lots of dust. Its an awsome case but I might wait to get mine from ebay I ordered and return this one.
That looks like a silicone case... Not gel. Can someone confirm?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Do they make gel cases that don't stick to clothing? I like the bare phone for its ability to easily slide in and out of the pocket, and I dislike hard cases because they're too bulky.
only if they had one that didnt collect dust...

Yes, and it's actually quite annoying.
That said, it's probably the best soft case I've ever used (though, it doesn't protect the screen for ****). The only thing I think I would've preferred is a an N1-style pouch.
When pulling it out of pocket, it almost always turns it inside-out. It grabs onto lint and dust like a rubber glove. One benefit, however, is that it doesn't slide around when resting on a surface.
I would trade this thing in for a super durable hard case in a second. If they ever release a hard case with a screen protector as well, I'd be all over it.
Household tips from mom (beta)
If it's too sticky, try putting some sort of oil on it and rubbing it off. Probably not olive oil, it's a little acidic, but corn or canola oil might do OK with a lot of wiping. (Don't use your clothes, you'll leave a grease stain, and regular paper towels won't help the lint problem, for sure.)
If it doesn't work, it's mostly silicone it'll wash off with some soapy water (yeah, take the phone out of the case before you do anything).
I haven't found one of these cases yet, but oil took the stick right out of my dashboard sticky pad. Theoretically it should work.
I needed some way to differentiate my dev phone from my daily phone. So, I grabbed some fusion plastic paint from Walmart. I scuffed the surface with a scotch-brite pad, then cleaned with 92% alcohol, then painted and applied clear-coat.

Not if he goes and buys a quality clearcoat.
I mean, id even suggest going to autozone for automotive clear coat and using that. If you want it to really last, use a few coats.
EDIT: I should read the entire first post.
It looks good. Matches up with the colors from Andromeda.
Nice. My friend has an otterbox for his iphone just like that.
I should have done a better prep job. Do not use the method I mentioned above. Go with 400 grit sand paper to smooth out the surface, then 800 grit sandpaper to remove the 400 grit scuffs. Then use alcohol to clean and then paint.
It has received 1 chip so far which I attribute to improper surface prep.
Here's a picture I snapped to day of my ultra-jig and the arduino which I plan on communicating with.
ok now i want more info on your ultra jig....
what else does it do? just varriable resistance via the switches? so it would be able to enter dock mode too eh? anything else?
and the arduino? what you gonna do with that fun thing?

It's for all the factory modes and OTG mode listed here in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820275 I plan on helping out on saving some bricks with the Arduino's communications libraries. The wrapped around wire will connect into the Arduino. Hopefully I can get some good USB to serial to UART going on.
i needed some fun reading...
Oh wow you made it. So you got the connection you were wanting.

That's pretty cool really stands out with those colors. but my case broke in same exact spot no more then 5 minutes ago. But hey if the case could talk it woukd have storys for days
Just call otter. They will send a new one. That's why I don't have a problem messing with this one. My new one was free. Just go on their website, dial the number in the upper right corner and tell them what happened to your case and where you bought it. They sent me a new one with that information only.

Sorry, this is off topic a bit but do you think clear coat nail polish would be able to make the rubber part of the Otterbox Commuter less rubbery (and maybe harder)?
I know you probably don't have the case, but I'm talking about this rubber piece that goes before the hard shell:
The reason for this is because the rubber piece is too rubbery and it collects a ton of dust. It also dislodges a bit when I take it out of my pockets due to it being rubbery so I was looking for something I could use to make it less so. I didn't think of nail polish though. Let me know if you think this would make sense. It's just a random idea in my head when I seen you mention it. I would just be using it on the exposed top and bottom parts.

Same problem here with the Commuter. I suspect that wouldn't work though. Ive been wrong before though.
a hard-coat or anything sprayed/painted on to the rubber would just flake off...
Today i received the case and again i want so share some thoughts about it.
(let me say it right here: this is the best case ive seen so far and i can recommend it to everyone that is searching for a very slim case with considerable protection)
ORDER
i ordered the case from Obostore. it took 7 days for shipping...quite good for free international shipping. they also give discount if you order several pieces.
MATERIAL
i expected some regular plastic case but actually it is something i would describe as rubberized plastic.
makes the phone definitively way less slippery.
as far as i can tell it doesn't attract dust.
FIT
it fits perfectly and the cutouts on the side are made well. the phone fits very tight and doesn't move in the case (like in the zenus skin air jacket i reviewed some pages ago)
PROTECTION
if you are searching for an everyday-protection against scratches and some little drops this case should be your choice.
as you can see on the pictures the top and bottom of the phone are not covered by the plastic.
but that doesn't bother me because (unlike the samsung mesh-case) it fully covers the corners of the phone.
so if it drops on flat ground it will be fully protected. (not from great hight of course)
quite hard to explain but i tried to show it to you in the pictures below.
i tilted the phone to 45° and then take a shot that is showing that there is still some space between phone and surface (light coming through).
the camera is also covered very good so no scratches should get on it.
SCREEN PROTECTOR
the case came with a free screen protector from nillkin. i don't have any reference but i think its pretty good.
(although i messed it up by having a little airbubble in the down right corner. my fault.... )
CONCLUSION
this is by far the best case i have seen or used so far.
sure there are some cases with better protection but in my opinion they often add too much bulk and mess with the great look an slimness of the phone.
so i can fully recommend this case to you!
(if you liked this review please show by hitting the thanks-button)
(and sorry again for the bad picture-quality )

I also have one, and am very happy with it, but they seem to have a minor design flaw.
Doesn't really affect the usability of the case, hell, I didn't even notice it until someone on another forum pointed it out, and I doubt I ever would have if they hadn't.
what flaw are you talking about?
(although it may be better if you never tell me )
1 of the sides did not flush well with the phone when facing up.
Looks like the cutting is slightly off will gradual abscess from top going to the bottom.
Its pretty obvious if u see it at an angle.
Only seems to be an issue with the black case
The white one I got seems to fit fine
Sorry, photos aren't very clear

I also have the one in OP but chose red instead of black. I have to say it's pretty awesome. The color looks classy and the case fits just fine.
I like the rubberized texture. Without it, I always felt like the phone was going to slip right off my hand. Now not so much. Plus it almost doesn't add any thickness (I'd say around 1.5 mm at most).
Very happy.
Be careful with unprotective cases, barely there cases and only rear protecting cases

Here it is the white one, after few weeks of usage.
h t t p://imgur.com/a/LnGKp - sorry i can't post links yet (new user)
I have the phone for 2 montsh now, but i have 2 other type of case and using a different one all the time. The first 2 week was fine, no coloration at all, but at the 3rd week the brown coloration happened, which was my pocket. And the funny part is, i am carrying it in my pocket for 40min each (work)day.
The way i imagine this case:
- hard plastic
- soft touch overlay
- some thin protecting layer
No coloration in the first few weeks, but after the ""protecting layer"" wear down, the case started picking up everything. I tried to clean it, no luck.
Lastly, i really don't know what are those pink spots, or where do they came from. (It's not the camera )
I've one of these cases too.
The first thing I did was to use my fingernail to scratch away the NILLKIN words. Took me just 2 min, and I had a perfectly blank back for the case.
How good it fits to the phone? Does this case scratch the phone?
Thanks!
I've searched high and low for a case that suited me and my Note and eventually found a very nice case from Tridea on eBay. I received a couple of days ago and think that it looks and performs great. You can find it by searching on Tridea.Essentially it's a hard bumper in a nice sort of faux suede flip case. I went for the gray version.
It's a bit pricey at £25 and it took a couple of weeks to arrive from South Korea but I've yet to see a case that looks anywhere near as good for the money.
I just bought one too! It should arrive within a week, I got the same color as you did. I'm glad you like it, because it makes me more excited to get mine
I wanted this case more than most others but my number one issue with them all is that very few have a cut out for the ear piece!! not even a notch, i want my face oils off the screen and not have to hold the flap back on a call, simple design i would think, sigh.
I love this case, I bought the grey one as well. I do wish it had a hole for the speaker though.

Hmm, the front flap does fold round the back when using it to make calls and even gives a bit more of a better grip on the phone so I'm not that bothered about it not having a notch for the earpiece.
lamou1nr: As far as a hole for the speaker goes, it's got one but I guess you meant the same as Mrglass86.
I like the case because 1) it looks good 2) it's very light 3) it offers good bumper protection with the addition of a cover for the front that also keeps the screen clean. 4) it feels really nice and solid without adding a load of bulk to the phone.
I don't see the fascination with the aluminium bumpers. They don't look as though they'd offer any protection in a drop.
I like some of the Zenus cases (it was either the Tridea or the Zenus Capsule case) but they're expensive and the diary types just seem like a bit of a gimmick - would you really keep your cash and cards in the same case as your Note? Not me!
Until otterbox or a similar maker comes up with a really tough aluminium case I'm happy to stick with the Tridea.
If you fold it too often it will eventually get loose or have lines along the edge. Another issue with all such book-like case is that we cannot use our thumb to operate the phone anymore.

Just ordered it. I hope it'll arrive sooner than expected.
Anybody bought this kind of Tridea case? Available on eBay for $22.

Wow I dont normally like flip cases but this one looks very nice. Not sure if i'll fork out for one as i've already got cases for it but can you guys post pictures when you get it, i'll get a better idea than from the ebay pics
Just thought I'd follow up on my OP. I've been using this case for almost a couple of months. The phone gets a lot of use by me and is constantly being taken in/out of my pockets. I'm happy to say that the case is holding up well. I think that the 'spine' of the cover would be the first part to go since it's the part that gets the most stress.
After two months the fabric along the spine has been smoothed but doesn't look bad, kind of what you'd expect really, it 'weathered'. There is some very thin rubber edging that runs along the edge of the whole case and this has initially split on the spine hinge area but it has only come off in one tiny section. It's hardly noticeable.
The main thing is that it's protected my Note very well. I don't expect a huge lifespan from it (at least the cover) but the bumper around the note will last. I may utilise a bit of gaffer tape to strengthen the spine and you could do this without spoiling the aesthetic if you do it properly. I may also use some rubber spray that I bought from Amazon which is really useful stuff (it coats whatever you spray in a matt rubber coating). One last thing to mention is that some people were bothered that you couldn't get to the volume controls while the case was shut, well you can press the rocker through the spine without any problem so you can use the volume control even with the Note in your pocket. I'll update this if I notice anything further degradation but all-in-all I like this cover a lot still.
My case has also held up reasonably well. It provides great protection. I too had the rubber on the edge ware off but only on the "hinge" of the cover. The only other part that is showing signs of age is the metallic plastic piece that is on the back, it has a few scuffs and a chip. For a flip case this is one of the best.
