Hi,
I try but i cannot get.
I rooted phone while ago (Desire Z) and put over other ROM and OC etc etc. Now i have G2 rom ????
Now i want to go back to Stock Rom.
I see this tread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870369
So i think this is latest official Rom, i run the RUU but it does not work for me it gives error. (not even rebooting my phone).
my S is Off, i understand i need it off to go back to original rom (or can i put S ON and will put bakc original ROM it saved somehwere?)
At recovery mode i get big Triangle with Explemation mark ( the !) . cannot connect to USB in bootloader it seems.
Help pls.
I have the same problem a while ago when had to return my DZ for repair. And had to return back to ctock unrooted. I used this one RUU_Vision_HTC_WWE_1.82.405.1_R_Radio_12.28e.60.14 0f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF_release_168383_signed.exe. Run it, rebooted my DZ into Hboot and then press next on every dilog in ruu program. Everything went fine. So, i think you should try as i did. And if you will have no result, try to reinstall USB drivers for DZ. That's all i can say in help to you.
I tryed,
but i get error
verify that you want to update the rom :
From : 1.19.531.1
to : 1.72.466.4

Checking,
Rebooting to boatloader.

I just downloaded from tread i mentioned earlyer.. i dont understand.

Immediately when the triangle appears, you should press the volume down button and the optical trackpad at the same time. It will bring you into the recovery mode.
You can choose the menu from there..
And dont forget to turn off the fast boot mode, before getting into bootloader..

Have tried to turn off the "fast boot" mode? and Have you remove your battery after turning of "fast boot" mode?
I believe stock recovery requires you to press the Vol Up and Power keys at the same time to get the menu... Will probably say something about not finding a /cache/recovery/command file, and then give you menu options to reboot, apply update.zip, wipe data/factory reset, and wipe cache...
Use Vol up and Vol Down to move around the menu, and Power button to select...

I have no Fastboot option in the rom i am using (a G2 rom ). Or can i do this with prompt ?
Actually I think you have to re-root if you are on the G2 rom instead of the Desire Z rom. It's propably not let you install a different brand of rom.

I don't know what to do because my device is currently not booting. The device is stuck at the HTC logo for a very long time (both when booting normaly or going in to revovery). The device finaly is finished booting in like 10 min. , but when it is finnished booting the touch on the screen doesn't work, it keeps a black background and it says no service. In revovery on the otherhand the optical trackball doesn't work anymore, the hardware button does tho because the first option "Reboot system now" does work.
What should I Do???

The volume up/down buttons dont work in recovery
Now its just stuck in a bootloop .
And there is no way of wiping the device, because the trackball isn't working.
hep would be greatly appreciated
The first thing I would try is to remove the SD card and see if your phone boots.
If that doesn't work. Have you tried putting fake flash on your SD and booting into recovery on that to test your trackpad?
Why has it started playing up in the first place? Did you have a bad flash? A wee bit of the history of your device might help to find out what's going on.

the trackball isn't working in the fakeflash. The whole problem didn't happen after a bad flash, but it just went in a bootloop when i tried to put it on this morning. I was running Defrost 1.4
You don't need trackball in the fakeflash. You navigate there using volume up and down. It should work. Try .
How about resetting it by doing the following.
Switch it off, or remove battery > Hold volume down and power button > wait a few seconds > use volume to go to clear storage > power button to select. This doesn't involve going into recovery so your buttons might work there.
Can't you get into the bootloader mode with vol. down + power and wipe it there?
Edit: Few secs too late heh

You need the trackpad to select the option after choosing it with volume up/down.

No, it says clear...... and then it just restarts the bootloop
The fake-flash worked!!!!!!!
I deleted everthing there but now, when I boot up the device it boot up straight into fastboot
You could try now using an ruu to flash. Or try getting into recovery and see if you can use the buttons now.
I'll try a ruu, but the recovery still wont work

Problem when i tryed "one click to root" (black screen with HTC Desire and "/!\")
Hello,
I tryed to root my phone using "unrevoked".
I installed HTC Sync to have the drivers, and then, i removed it.
Unrevoked asked me to connect my phone to the PC. I did it. It printed a "warning window" (as often), and i pressed ok.
It rebooted my phone on fastboot mode, and the window on my PC says "Waiting for bootloader mode".
This was not written on the tuto that i was looking for, and then, i tryed to reboot on recovery, to reboot the phone normally.
Now, it dosen't want to boot, and print a black screen with a HTC Desire and "/!\" this red sign.
Any help please ? :/

What happens if you hold volume down and press power button you do this from Fastboot not recovery
When I press volume down and power at the same time on this "black screen with HTC Desire picture and /!\", nothing happens.
What happens if i remove the battery ? Brick ?
Press volume up and power. What happens then?

If the power button doesn't do it yes
As long as you can get into fastboot menu you can root the phone with unrevoked
But do it properly!
Install drivers from here
unrEVOked modified USB driver
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install
After installing driver
In Device Manager
make sure Android Bootloader Interface is listed under Android Phone. (Drivers installed on PC)
Fastboot phone ( Volume down then power button)
Select Hboot menu
Connect Phone to PC confirm phone says "HBOOT USB PLUG"
Run Unrevoked as admin phone rooted
Then if you have a backup restore that or install new rom as recovery should now be working
Ok thanks, i'll try.
I'll remove the battery because it don't turn off with power button.
When i'll try to boot, have I to root in now, or can i boot in "normal mode", and try to root it tomorrow ?
Thanks for your help.

Hello.
My Htc myTouch 3G Slide volume keys aren't working... So, I can't reboot the phone in Recovery Mode..
I just wanted to upgrade my phone, but with this problem, I can't do that.
Can anyone help me?
Is there a reason you don't want to get a replacement phone from t-mo?
JTB
Well, i bought this phone through ebay...
I'm Portuguese...
OK. Is the phone rooted already or not?
JTB
Yes.. And it has CyanogenMod 7.0.0 RC1 rom.
Then you can just reboot directly into recovery from the power menu. Boot the phone as normal, once everything is loaded hold power until you get the menu, select reboot, then select recovery.
Also, there is an adb command to do the same thing:
Code:
adb reboot recovery

hit power and see where that gets you. Do you have custom MTD partitions on this phone?
Power button does nothing..
I think I don't..
it's power + the volume up key, i guess. Sounds like you have the stock recovery on your phone.
Pull the battery and restart the phone. Then load rom manager application (should be on your phone as I believe it is part of all CM roms). Select the option to flash clockworkmod recovery and then hit the reboot into recovery option.
JTB
I get the same image with the phone and the exclamation point. =S
I'm out of ideas. Sorry!

Do you know any website where I can buy the volume keys??

You can use the froyo update from htc, you do it from your pc so you don't need your volume keys.

Hi, I'm trying to flash Clockworkmod using this method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446593&highlight=clockworkmod+recovery&page=10
But now I don't seem to be able to get it to go into recovery mode at all any more.
I hold down up home and pwer and it gets to the screen with the picture of the android and the box with the arrow coming out of it. But then it just seems to reboot.
The phone still works other than that.
Is there a knack to getting it into recovery mode thaqt I just haven't got?
Ok I've managed to get it into recovery (but only once- there's clearly a knack to it I'm missing)
But the problem now is that it's still the stock recovery.
My phone is rooted and debugging is on.
any ideas (on either)
u use adb to flash? if that didnt work y not try to flash using odin v4.43?

I seem to have the same problem, did you figure out how to go in recovery without getting reboot right after you press the menu button?
EDIT: I might have been pressing buttons in the wrong order or too long/short. As soon as I see samsung logo I released power button and I holded menu button a bit longer. I'm not sure about the last one tried again with a short press and it worked as well, I think the most important thing here is when to release power button.

This is a longshot but since you dont have warranty you might give it a try.
Remove the back of the phone (there are tutorials on youtube for "disassembling ascend P6") and then remove the battery inside. Afterwards connect the phone to your ac charger, and retry to force update (power button while holding vol + and - buttons).
I really dont know if this works, but when i bricked my other huawei phone (u8800) where the battery was removable I managed to restore it using the aforementioned method..
Best of luck!
I had same problem last week, press volume up/down when phone boot. and keep pressing those buttons.
Dosnt work every time.. download firmware first and add it to external sd/dload folder..
i think i lost my stock recovery, i dont know why but i think that happened, but can anyone tell if the loss of the recovery will lead to the failure of force update? (in my case it won't start at all just stuck at logo)
if that happened i might try reflashing stock recovery with fastboot
ok i tried to flash stock recovery via fastboot, but the problem is my pc only reads my device when i connect it to it then hold power and vol - buttons till it reboots, then my pc reads it as an adb interface but it shows that it failed to install device drivers although i already installed the usb drivers and updated google usb drivers from android sdk, and everytime i try to flash recovery via adb (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img) it stuck with waiting for device
it seems its not recognized properly, am i hard bricked? :crying:

I have the same exact problem with my ascend mate mt1. its always stuck to ascend logo. when I press power button and hold cannot turn off. always turn on by itself. if I press volume down and power button, my computer can recognize it as fastboot. drivers can install no problem. can see the device when I type fastboot devices. when I try to install recovery with fastboot I always get that error says "not allowed". tried sd card update with press volume up + down no luck, also tried it with removing the battery but same. I think its hard bricked or something if you find a solution please let me know.
