I just recently switched to ADW Launcher EX from LPP. All of my phone settings are set for my screen to timeout at 1 minute and not to turn off during a call however my screen turns off in about 5 seconds of inactivity. Anyone know what can cause this?
Edit: and how i can fix it?
Ass may have its own set of settings that override the stock settings menu settings.....check to see if there is a adw settings and if so check the screen timeout in there

I think elixir is on the right track there should be some ADW launder settings and those are probably the cause of the problem.
I don't see anything in ADW settings about time outs.
I was aiming to type adw sorry my phone typoed....but ya....are you on the stock Rom? If there's no adw settings it might be a Rom glitch from not wiping correctly before flashing

I feel like an idiot asking this, but I tried looking on my phone left and right...
On the bottom of the home screen with the 3 apps, the middle one directs you to all of the apps on the phone..But I lost that, and now its just a star..How do I restore it? Thanks!
PS-Any settings for this?
What rom are you running? Im going to guess cm6. If i recall from memory you just need to hit menu on the home screen then select settings. On that list goto launcher or something like that its been a while since i ran cm. Anyway there is options for the launcher and soft keys there.

I recently ran into this problem while using ADW. At your home screen long click and add a custom shortcut. then select adw launcher actions, then chose open/close app drawer.. once thats on your home screen click and drag the icon to the drawer... you should be all set, of course that is if you are using ADW
I would of never figured this out. Thanks so much my friends!
Is there a way to make adw always come back to the default home screen when waking the phone?
You can set your default homescreen but I don't think you can make it come to that screen when unlocking the phone. I.e, you're using the browser, lock the phone, unlock it, you're still gonna have the browser up, I don't know if there's a home replacement app that changes that.

That's sort of what I meant but not quite ...I meant if I'm one of the other home screens, when I hit unlock I want it to go back to the default home screen. That's how sense does it...one of the things I miss since switching to cm7.
When i shut my phone off and turn it back on it will get to the widget locker lock screen like it should but once i slide to unlock there will be no icons on my screen? I have root and am using widgetlockers home helper thing it also did this using lancher pro.
I usually have to turn the phone on and off a few times before the icons will show after unlock.
Any ideas?
Maybe you should set it to default when it asks which one you want to use..
Or I haven't understood your problem
COnfused.com
I would ask in the widget locker and go launcher help thread in the main android app section. I use both in conjunction and have had zero issues but I know the last go update was fixing some icon issues so make sure you update.
Also more info could be helpful. Such as what rom, kernel, etc
go lancher is set as the default. It's once you unlock from the lock screen there will be no icons.
I'm using the stock ROM rooted KE7 2.3.3

Are you using the integrated icon switching or are you using desktop Visualizer?

I'm not sure what you mean? I really haven't did anything but set go lancher as the default lancher and in widget locker i had to set it to use WL HomeHelper (optional) if i don't you can double press the home button and bypass the screen lock.
It's random when the icons don't come up after a unlock.

Are you using custom icons? If not, or even if so bring it up to the go dev team. Definitely looks to be something on their end. Have to tried to replicate it without widget locker?
Nothing to do with widget locker I think (I use it too in conjuction with Go Launcher) however there seems to be a bit of a bug in Go Launcher where icons randomly disappear - the last update was supposed to have fixed that but hasn't really, some still occasionally go missing from my home screens too. The easiest thing to do for now is to put all your apps and shortcuts how you want them, then backup the configuration from within Go Launcher preferences, next time they go walkies just hit restore configuration and job done. Just remember to back up the config every time you add or remove stuff.
I'm using go launcher and widgetlocker for 24 hours now and having no problems at all, initially the launcher was slow, but after 1-2 hours when I used it again, it was smooth, maybe cache related thing

I am using go lancher themes from the market. It did it again the whole screen is blank after a unlock no icons at all only the wallpaper shows. Lancher Pro did the same thing.
I can go into go lancher settings click on themes and nothing comes up.
I used widgetlocker and go launcher ex. I have not had any problems.
Preferences -> Operation settings -> Screen rotation (switch off)
I had the same problem, got rid of it by applying this setting. Wish you luck
Already had the rotation off.
If i hold down the home button after i unlock and bring up the task manger and find widget locker and do a force close all my icons come back.
As a note, I get this exact same issue with ADW Launcher EX.
Happens only right after a reboot, and not every time - WidgetLocker Lockscreen appears, I unlock and find a completely blank screen (Only the notification bar shows). Pressing the menu button brings up the ADW Launcher Ex menu though...
Restarting ADW Launcher doesn't seem to help, only rebooting a couple times until it does appear seemed to help me, but I'll try force closing widget locker itself next time.
I initially set ADW as default launcher, but then set the WL HomeHelper as default in widgetlocker settings, which I believe is the correct way to do it to block the home button from auto unlocking etc.
Edit: Restarted the phone just to test, and force closing widgetlocker does do the trick - minor annoyance only I guess

Yes it is for me it seems to only do it when i'm in a hurry lol
I use widgetlocker and GoLauncher too.
I've had the same problem this morning too, but a reboot of the device fixed the problem.
I've had similar issues without Widgetlocker installed, so I think the cause is to be found in GoLauncher. But the phone reboots very fast so I am not really bothered by it.
I used LP and switched to GO Launcher.
GoLauncher is set as default launcher at the first boot.
In WidgetLocker i disabled the homebutten with homehelper to stop the unlock by the homebutton.
No the problem:
When i reboot, there is a message that says "go launcher is not your default launcher." (Attach 1)
When i click ok, i'm in the assignments of WidgetLocker (Attach 2)
When i disable the homehelper in WL there is no problem when i reboot.
But i want to disable the homebutton...
Any ideas?
BTW: LP is disabled!
I'm using Litening Rom 6.1
I had exactly the same issue and stopped using Go Launcher as a result. It would only happen sometimes but it would require me to restart my phone. I now use ADW instead and it works fine.
Hello,
Has anyone noticed an issued with Go Launcher EX and how it changes the brightness every time you lock your phone. For example at night I will change it to lowest brightness, and if the screen times out or if I lock the phone; when and I unlock it, it automatically goes bright. It seems like Go Launcher EX has a default brightness that overrides the system.
Does anybody knows how to fix this bug or is having the sames issue.

I posted once in the Themes and apps forum and did not get an answer so I posted it in the question forum.
I have heard many complaints about this issue. It is an application error, because it does it on stock rom, and several other roms.
Anyone else having issues on a stock Verizon One getting Nova Launcher to stick? Damn thing keeps defaulting to Sense for some reason. Is there a fix for this? Thanks in advance.
Nova runs fine for me but when I hold the home key to open menu on my homescreen nothing happens. Every once in a while it will work.
Go to HTC Sense in the app settings and clear defaults. Do the same for Nova. Clear defaults for both and see if that solves the problem

Thanks for the suggestion. I've given it a shot. Sense said there were no defaults applied, while Nova said it was a default for certain something... the legend was cut off. I cleared them both and we'll see how it goes.
I'm stock currently, also using Nova. I have not had any issues with it. When you first start using the launcher, and you get the popup asking which UI to use, select "always" (rather than "just once") before selecting Nova, as opposed to Sense. Mine sticks.

I've had this as well, even with Nova selected as default. Sense would pop up randomly when going back to the home screen. What I did is go into app manager and force stop HTC Sense. The problem is when setting another launcher as default, your suppose to clear the others out of memory by using the recent apps, but stock Sense does not allow this apparently...

There is an issue where if you drag up any of your icons on the dock row in your lock screen it will go into Sense. There is nothing you can do about that. Once you have selected Nova as your default launcher, all you have to do is click the home screen and it will take you back.
OP here checking in. Since I applied josh995's suggestion about clearing defaults for both HTC Sense and Nova, it's been pretty well behaved. FYI, peteschlabar, I definitely checked "always" when I had the choice between launchers. Oh well, it seems to have sorted itself out now. Thanks, all!
I just installed nova again and it worked the first time
