I feel like an idiot asking this, but I tried looking on my phone left and right...
On the bottom of the home screen with the 3 apps, the middle one directs you to all of the apps on the phone..But I lost that, and now its just a star..How do I restore it? Thanks!
PS-Any settings for this?
What rom are you running? Im going to guess cm6. If i recall from memory you just need to hit menu on the home screen then select settings. On that list goto launcher or something like that its been a while since i ran cm. Anyway there is options for the launcher and soft keys there.

I recently ran into this problem while using ADW. At your home screen long click and add a custom shortcut. then select adw launcher actions, then chose open/close app drawer.. once thats on your home screen click and drag the icon to the drawer... you should be all set, of course that is if you are using ADW
I would of never figured this out. Thanks so much my friends!
...one huge problem! I can't long press anything! I can tap to interact with any widgets or shortcuts but if I try to long press to move something or create a new widget nothing happens. It's just completely unresponsive.
I started thinking it's the combination of the provided screen protector + the outer screen shield that would be causing this. However a quick XDA/google search produced no other reports of this issue.
Has this happened to anyone? Any way to fix it other than possibly removing the inner screen protector. Could it be an environmental issue? What the hell?
EDIT: I switched over to Sense from ADW EX and found I could long press. Then I went back to ADW EX and it won't work. If this has nothing to do with the Ballistic it sure is a strange coincidence. I just got the ballistic today and the first time ADW EX has ever acted up was right after I put the new case on....
Is your desktop locked? One time I was freaking out about this and found out you can lock and unlock the desktop (or homescreens, whatever you wanna call them) in ADW EX.

Haha...I just uninstalled it earlier and figured I'd just go back to LP. Then I reinstalled after reading your post and all is fine. I went ahead and gave the lock desktop setting a try and it behaved exactly as it did earlier....I've never used that setting before so it figures the first time is by accident while I'm putting on my brand new Ballistic.
I'll throw a thanks your way when I get back to my pc if I can't do it with the xda app!

Hi All,
Ive been toying around with the launchers, and i think there real good, only thinng i cant get though, which i thought id ask on here to see if its me being dumb or just dont work.
When using a launcher, can you not use any of the HTC installed widgets? Like sense clock, or weather, i feel when i go to the launcher on my handset half of my widgets disappear, but when in stock home, they are all there...
Anyway i can work around this? I really want to use another launcher other than HTC stock, as i feel they are so much smarter, the only thing holding me back is these widgets issue.
The Launchers i have used are: Launcher Pro, Go Launcher, Zeam Launcher, and ADW Launcher. Any other launcher that might do the trick?
Thanks in Advanced.

I have kind of the same problem, when i`m using a launcher the mail box shortcut never refreshes the new mail indicator on any of the home screens that i`ve tried, and i`ve tried a lot. I would gladly pay for a home launcher that would make that part work !!!!
If anyone knows of one that actually does it please let me know !
Thanks.
Chris!
hi guys,
since we are on the topic of launchers. i have a question for the experts here. I am also using DHD. I running LauncherPro. When I first installed it, i set it to default and everything works fine. I press the HOME button it just do what the HOME button suppose to do. I restart or reboot my phone, it just goes into LauncherPro. But after awhile, out of the blue i started having this problem. Everytime I press on the HOME button, my phone will ask me to choose between HTC Sense or LauncherPro. I will tick default and select LauncherPro. The the HOME button will work fine. But after awhile it will ask me to select between the 2 launchers again when i press on the HOME button. Same whenever i restart or reboot the phone.
Tried to clear the default setting in HTC sense but nothing for me to clear. Can be annoying because I really prefer the LauncherPro. Does anyone encounter the same problem as me? Any way to overcome this problem? And also pardon my long winded post.

Is it everytime you restart the phone? Or does it seemed to have had an update. Launcher Pro Plus is the 1 i actually use atm, and i make sure the remember choice thing is checked and never have the problem...
Did any of you notice that when LauncherPro (and possibly other alternate launchers) is active, Settings -> Personalize menu does not work? It just goes back to homescreen. I never noticed it until this morning.
I got a call right after booting my DHD and it rang with one of the default ringtones due to SD card not being mounted yet and my standard ringtone was on it. So I went to check if it was fine once the card was mounted and behold. Then I switched back to Sense and could access the screen.
Yes. It happens everytime I restart the phone. I not using launcher pro plus.

Me too.!
Also it shows running apps and also allows easier uninstallation of apps.
Is there some way to re-arrange my home screens?
I am running a rooted, stock Sprint Sense ROM. The last time I flashed a ROM, I did not know how to back-up my home screens (still don't), and slowly re-built them. I couldn't remember exactly how I had them set up before. Now, I pretty much have what I want, but I don't like the order they are in.
Is there an app or trick that would let me re-arrange them? What about backing them up and restoring after a ROM flash?
Umm, you just long press each app shortcut or widget. Then you can delete it or move it. If you want to add something to a blank space, long press the blank space. Android 101...
I think he is referring to rearranging his home screens as a whole so that he doesnt have to individually move each shortcut/widget.
Unfortunately, I haven't used Sense in almost a year. So I am not much help in this area.
Mikg does this...
~ I'm a fungi
Press the home screen so that you see all the home screens. Then select one and HOLD. Then drag it and it'll rearrange.

No, I tried that. They dont move. At least not with HTC Sense.
Thanks though.

I know the 3.0 Ports will do this...don't thing the 1.0 does though, sorry.
i think with some of the home replacement apps like adw or go launcher you can do it as well
Was curious if there were any good lock screen apps. I.e. clock, text pop ups, custom lock screen, (I already have that option but haven't found a good one yet) etc.
Ooops, didn't realize I was in dinc2 general. If someone can move this to q&a would be much appreciated

I really like WidgetLocker (~$2 I think). It allows you to basically make your lockscreen into a homescreen, adding whatever widgets/shortcuts/etc you want, and choosing your custom unlock method as well. I've been using it for over a year now. Only downside is that the more widgets you have, the more memory used up, so on my phone I only have a few, on my tab I have probably 10 on my lockscreen.
