So ive been messing with my desire z for a while now and i cant figure out what to do with my stereo bluetooth headset's odd behavior. I have the Jabra BT 8010. When i was using winmo, it would only connect to the media function when i tell it to, but on android it seems that after it connects to my headset, the 2 batch of sound gets routed to my headset rather than the phone's speakers.
I have gone to the wireless settings and manually set it to not connect to the media function but again after a 2 batch of sound (alert, ring tone, etc) happens, it automatically connects the media service to my headset again.
I also found a function that said to only connect the bluetooth when making calls and that also did not deter my phone from connecting my headset to media services anyways.
Does anyone have any insight to this? Thanks!

I have Nokia bluetooth stereo headset BH-503.
I'm using it fine for calls but lately I cannot seem to get music audio through them. I suspect it may have happened when Tmobile sent the OTA update out (my phone was in the first batch, now on 1.15.110.11). Note - im not sure exactly when this started so may not be the update.....could be a dodgy app?
I was using spotify and the htc music player with the headset fine when I first got the Desire.
Both 'phone' and 'media' settings are ticked in the bluetooth options and obv tried disconnecting then repairing the two but still no joy.
Has anyone else noticed this? any other media bluetooth problems?
I can be listening to Spotify or HTC music player thru the phone loudspeaker and when a call comes thru the phone correctly diverts the call to the bluetooth headset then resumes music to the loud speaker once the call has finished.
It's as if the bluetooth media audio capability has been disabled!? Any help would be appreciated, it's driving my nuts!!
hmm seems to be fixed. I did one thing differently this time.....
Instead of activating bluetooth via the widget or settings>wireless&networks> bluetooth where you can check the bluetooth box to turn it on, i went into:
settings>wireless&networks> bluetooth settings and activated bluetooth from there.
When it connects to device it now says 'connected to phone and media audio' and plays fine now even when switching on via the widget.
V odd. Oh well happy chappy again
Hey
My fiesta has bluetooth but I don't think it supports audio so I pay it through the aux. However when I have bluetooth on the phone stops playing through the aux, which means I have too turn bluetooth off for music!
Is there anyway to fix this?
Cheers

Maybe you can try this:
Go in the bluetooth parameters, click 2sec at the name of you're bluetooth audiocar, click options and make sure that only phones is check.
Maybe i'm wrong but the fact that you're phone trying to output music with bluetooth means that you're audiocar is AD2P compliant, maybe just a button to press in oder to switch between audio bluetooth mode and phone bluetooth mode =)
when I clicked media off it disconnects lol. iphone does it too though. very annoying

Thanks to help from one of the members on here my bluetooth is now working fine for making/receiving calls.
However why does the audio from youtube app or tunein radio app not also come through my bluetooth device when paired and connected but instead through my HTC Desire loudspeaker?
Any one got any idea?
I'll try rephrasing the question.
Why doesnt a standard bluetooth in ear headset carry the full audio of my HTC Desire the way a pair of bluetooth headphones probably do and not just phone calls?
Either noone knows or the ones that do aren't seeing this thread.
I have Nokia BH-503 headset and I had the same problem. The calls would go through my headset, but everything else would play on the speaker. I noticed when I went to settings/Wireless & Networks/Bluetooth settings that my headset connects to phone audio, but not media audio.
I did some research and found a solution that works for me. I turn on the headset first, then bluetooth on my phone. Wait for a few seconds and that's that. My headset works perfectly and plays all audio from the device. When I go to settings, it says that the headset is connected to phone and media audio.
Try that and see if it works for you.
I'm only getting the option to use phone audio for some reason. I even tried switching my headset on first as you suggested.
My headset is a Nokia BH-102.
Any other ideas on how to get the media audio connected?
I think my bluetooth headset is just too crap to play media audio.
I'm listening to the internet radio on my Note 3. Used it with the mini 3.5 mm cable first, then found the menu in my car media center to hook it up via BT. Got everything connected seems to work fine the sound quality via BT is much better that via the cable.
HOWEVER BT connection between the phone and radio randomly disconnects for no particular reason (I have it set to connect automatically as soon as the ignition is turned on) and every time it connects it starts playing the Samsung tune or whatever music theme even on the top of the radio music.
What could be causing that?
My touchscreen clarion does it to as far as the disconnects go, and music playing through the default Google player vs my player pro.. As for disconnecting, mine just have a issue connecting off hand but best way is make sure the player in the car is turned on with bt enabled and then turn on the phones bt and press play after the connection is made, shouldn't have any disconnects
As for the playing, if it's the same as what mine used to do, I'd free one of the players and keep the main one you use that way nothing plays but what you want.
Hope that helped any..

Yes this is what I do. As soon as as ignition is on BT connects, and the stupid Samsung tune ("over the horizon" according to my car audio system) starts playing in the car by default. I have to go into phone menu and pause that and then start the radio. And then it starts disconnecting the BT so I have to do all those things again (this time while driving)...

Sounds like something with your cars receiver doing like a auto play type deal once connected. The phone wouldnt have a way of playing automatically without being told to.. id check the receiver and see if it has something about auto and changing it to manual, the only thing that should be auto is the pair
I connect my Note 3 to my Kenwood deck daily. Its a bit different scenario but I have no issues with BT streaming at all. It connects automatically and waits for me to switch to Pandora or BT streaming. When connected it stays connected and doesn't skip. I think the phone can be solid with the right receiving device.
The only issue I do have is that the microphone doesn't work when people call me. Works fine if I call them.
I have had zero issues on 2 different Toyota vehicles using the factory audio system with Bluetooth. Phone and media (music) connects. Music only starts playing when I select BT on my stereo. No issues. Probably something with how your car's system is setup.

I doubt that recent LS460 premium audio would be at blame.
BT connection issue

Is there a menu in your car for audio/media/Bluetooth settings? On Toyota, they have a menu for BT Audio devices where you can connect.

Is it possible to connect the HTC One M8 to 2 bluetooth devices at once?
I want to connect the Bluetooth A2DP stereo headset to my car, and the hands-free phone connectivity to a Bluetooth headset.
I've gone in the Bluetooth profile on my phone and changed the car setting to NOT do phone, and I've changed the bluetooth phone headset to NOT do audio. Is there anything else I have to do to make this work?
It should work, don't think anything else is required.
I did the same with my note 2, not tried with the M8.
Only difference might be that my bluetooth headset was a basic one and thus could only connect to phone. So I into needed to make the change in the car BT options and remove media keeping only phone selected.
Hope yours works

Quick question though, can you bluetooth a keyboard to your phone as well as a speaker?
