defy cm7 beta2 wifi ko - Defy General

wifi on my defy does not work :-( help

what's your firmware before using cm7 beta2 for defy?
3.4.2-155 and 3.4.3-11 are tested.
the others may cause some problems such as ChinaUnicom's Froyo.

I don't remember, how can i see? or better how can i install 3.4.2-155 or 3.4.3-11?

you can flash the firmware mentioned above by RSD lite.
(however,you may upgrade your bootloader.)
and then install the 2ndinit.

were can i find the firmware mentioned? i have just installed the 2ndinit!

I'm using the cm7beta2 for defy based on 3.4.3-11
you can download the firmware in this page
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=993402
RSD lite v4.9 or higher

PS: Did you set a password for your wifi router ?
Try to change your encryption mode from WPA2 to WPA or WEP

I can not even see the network ... it's not a problem of password
thanks anyway, I try and let you know

You can show us a screenshot of your wifi status in wifi settings.

if the network is yours enter your wifi router and under the wifi settings set from auto channel to channel 6 It should work then

with 3.4.3-11 e CM7 now wifi works

[Q]InsertCoint can't find WIFI hotspot emulated by Connectify.

Just flashed InsertCoin 1.08 cm7 version on my HTC Desire.
After that, Desire was unable to find the WIFI hotspot emulated by the Connectify software installed on my Thinkpad x60.
However, when I was using the CyanogenMod 7 on my Desire, it worked all right.
Any idea what the problem could be?
Tried wifi-n patch?
http://insertcoin.dataninja.net/WIP/Addons/WiFi-N-PATCH/
The connection is visible to others (not hidden) ?
Also CM7 has some networking hacks (e.g. Ad-hoc enabling) - that HTC ROMs do not have.
Also check settings in Connectify.

[HELP] Urgent ! CM10 WiFi Not working

HI.
I just flashed my phone to CM10 Alpha 7 last night.
However, I have noticed that there is a small bug in that. I couldn't connect to any WiFi network that being secured by WEP even my house WiFi.
I totally don't know what to do anymore. I did restart my phone, clear cache and restart the router though.
My phone could detect the open WiFi networks that are surrounded me. However, I couldn't connect to it successfully even when I had key in the password correctly.
After I have selected the network (Secured with WEP) that I wish to connect to and key in the password, it shows "Connecting", then "Saved, secured with WEP", but it will never get connected. No Connecting to WiFI sign will be shown in the notification drawer.
Anyone who can help me to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.
tsssusan, if you need to access WEP encripted Networks, I suggest you to revert to CM10 Alpha 6, because, like arco68 stated in the CM10 OP post, "New wifi driver (note: WEP support is currently broken)". It is impossible for now to access WiFi network secured by WEP, having CM10 Alpha 7.
Thanks.but any other options?

I don't believe at the moment you can have both. You can CM10 ALPHA 7 and not WEP or you can have CM10 ALPHA 6 and WEP. There maybe some other way where you compile your own kernel and use the old wifi drivers if you can I guess. But I don't know how to do that....
Also you can wait a bit more as arco is working on a fix (it seems solution is coming from ivendor) and I believe the fix will be incorporated in the next release. Or arco may publish it as an add on (flashable zip maybe). Fix is on its way from what I gather from his github.

WiFi Tethering Bug Oreo

Hi
There is a bug in Oreo beta 2 and 3 that the tethering doesn't work correctly and shows no internet connection. Has this been fixed in the stable 5.0.2?
I just tried it and indeed it did not seem to work properly.
I've been using all of the three betas and both USB and wifi tethering works. I rely solely on my mobile as my internet connection. I think this is region and operator based issue with Oneplus oreo roms. It seems to be a common problem for some and for others it has worked all along.

Code:
adb shell
settings put global tether_dun_required 0
hello, it's a bug beta rom me either it did not work by making a flash clean, ironing on stable rom 5.0.3 and everything works

Slow 5ghz WiFi on Note 8T (willow)

For a long time now on MIUI and now on a custom ROM (ArrowOS 12.1) WiFi is basically unusable on my friends 8T when connected to 5ghz WiFi. Range and speed is ridiculously low compared to 2.4ghz and any dual band WiFi always puts the device on 2.4ghz. Personally I have a Note 7 and do not have this issue.
Is this a known problem with the 8T? Any fix that anyone is aware of? The phone is on the latest firmware. Any custom kernel that could fix this?

This problem is mostly related to the FW
use latest "STABLE" for yor android
if still low, change the rom with a clean flash

make sure you don't have any magisk module installed
test when bluetouth is OFF,
if problem persist flash RRos A10 with stable A10 FW
if problem persist then it may be the wireless adapter or your router

No Magisk.
Tried with Bluetooth off, no difference.
Same issue with any 5ghz WiFi, tried in multiple places. My friend has 2.4ghz and 5ghz broadcast on the same SSID, only connects to 2.4ghz even when in the same room as the router. At my house I have 2.4ghz and 5ghz on seperate SSIDs, the phone won't even see the 5ghz SSID...
Anyone else experienced this issue? Tried literally everything I can think of. Is it a hardware fault?
