Hey guys im stuck with some dead wifi, i try and connect through settings after a fresh restart and when scanning i get a popup saying "unable to scan networks. Ive been using different roms since original stock 2.1 and ive never had this specific issue. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this without having to reload my nandroid backup? Or at worst odin. Which i dont mind doing because i have backups, its just a pain in my arse.
Also i think this started happening after i ran wifi tether the other night for like an hour. My phone reboot a few times because wifi tether adhoc is so bugged but yea, maybe that crashed something. I dunno.... any help is greatly. Appreciated.

Maybe you have a hardware problem/failure.
You can try clearing data cache and Dalvik cache in Clockwork.
Unfortunately clearing dalv and data put me in an odd boot loop. I just did a nandroid backup and that fixed me right now. Not sure what killed my wifi.

Wifi is fixed now but the suggestion of clearing data and dalvik put me in a boot loop.
All is well now. going to just leave everything how it is until Gingerbread

Sounds like there was more data corrupted somewhere and restoring the nandroid brought you back to before that happened.

So I have a 4g problem. In Santa Clara, CA.
I get a decent signal and it holds fine, no disconnects, but there is not data transfer.
Things I tried:
- Checked MAC and it matches the case.
- Deleted tree.xml
- Reflashed Radio and Wimax
- Updated PRL, Profile
No luck with any of them.
4G worked a while ago, then I flashed CM6, then back to stock 2.2.
Current setup: Stock 2.2, netarchy's kernel 4.1.8-cfs.
Any suggestions? Did I miss any fix possibilities?

Oh no, who's gonna let me in the house
Seriously though, what does that mean?
Also, more importantly, is there a way to fix it?
Did you check your connection with speed test? Is the 4G problem restricted only to Web browsing?
I ask because the Ad Free app will block 4G Web browsing, but not 4G anything else and not 3G Web.

No AdFree here. Can not connect to the web or use mail.
So no connection of any sort.

So, installed alogcat, run it. I'm guessing I'm looking for "E/Wimax ....."
When filter by "E/Wimax", I get the following
"E/Wimax ( 730):<DC CONNECT> IO Error:msg='/127.0.0.1:7771 - Connection refused"
Also
"E/Wimax ( 730)<DCP> Bad return status 0xffffffff"
Does that mean anything?

didn't see this part. Disregard my last comment.
Also keys = rsa keys. When you delete them you're not able to connect to 4g at all.
I had this problem for a while and it was because I was on an old radio and couldn't get the new one to flash properly without wiping thee cache first

I thought that might be the case. So I flashed the new radios, and as far as I can tell they're up to date.
Baseband: 2.15.00.07.28 (from phone info settings)
Wimax: 26023 (from wimax_mtd)
The interesting things is that it appears to be connected, and even get's IP issued, just no data transfer...
I was having the same problem. I did everything u listed above n nothing still didn't work. I was running vael Rom with kings bfc #9 kernel. I didn't know what else to do so I Decided to start from scratch....did a full wipe flash the radio, the wimax and vael Rom again still no luck. So I told myself **** it....then I decided I wanted to try Fresh Rom. So I wipe everything again n flash Fresh on to my phone and now my 4g is working again....I don't knowing that would help u but it did it for me. Hope u get it figure out.
Update: ok so I thought about flashing a new kernel. So I made a NAND backup and flashed netarchy-toastmod kernel. After flashing my 4g stop working again.
Did a NAND restore. Then this time I wipe the delvik cache. Then flash the kernel and 4g is working...

Thanks for the info. Looks like I better get wiping and flashing.
Did you wipe data as well or just the caches?
Wipe data and cache when flashing a new Rom.
Wipe dalvik cache when flashing a new kernel
Same thing happened to me. I ended up flashing the RA Recovery because I heard CW wasn't wiping cache's correctly. So you might want to try that as well.
I tried wiping both caches 1-2 times multiple times and it never worked. Then one time I wiped both caches 3 times and it worked.

I have tested my 4G datacard from Sprint in that area (top of Palo Alto), where I had 1-2 bars of 4G signal.
Because they are still testing there, I was unable to connect...
This might be your case -- they are still testing, and probably turn connections on/off during this period.
Best of luck though!
This 4G problem happened to me...i dug around in my backups and found a wimax.img from nandroid folder on sdcard. You need to find an older wimax image that was created during a back up...these wimax.imgs that are an image of your phone HAVE YOUR WIMAX KEYS
I recently came from ICS, and having issues with wi-fi there. So I went back to stock, hoping my issues would be resolved. Awesome. They aren't!
Wi-Fi doesn't work. I have/had hashcode's latest kernel flashed. I don't know what to do. Any ideas? D:
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!
How are you wiping when you flash roms? Maybe you have messed up how your kindle connects to wireless . There has been a Mac address issue with the new kernel maybe yours never reverted when you went back to stock. Have you tried other networks? Have you done a factory restore? Do you mean pure stock not rooted?

I wipe ; Factory Reset, System, Dalvik-Cache, Cache
And basically when I go to TURN-ON Wireless, no networks show. It doesn't even fully turn it on, it gets stuck in the middle of turning on the Wi-fi.
I went back PURE stock, NO ROOT. However, it seems I may have need of getting ROOT back. :/
I'm still curious if you performed a factory restore when you returned it to stock. I suppose your case could be that something burned out the wifi adaptor of the kindle although I bet its rare but not completely unreasonable. After a new clean flash when you reroot we will see those results ?
Probably totally unrelated, but have you ever had the locate-my-kindle software installed? I got similar weird behavior after a while when using that... first wifi networks were slow to come up, then it would struggle to turn on wifi, finally it'd just give an error and crash the settings manager or whatever it's called. I had to get rid of the software. Basically it was storing every single wifi network it ever came in contact with, even for just a second, and having too many entries hosed wifi. Uninstalling it seemed to clear those extra entries and restore functionality.
I do know that restoring your account from Google to your device and letting them keep copies of your wifi passwords can also cause issues although when I was testing roms for some devs on my droidx with known wifi issues ñot allow the Google restore and backup caused similar problems.
Hey guys,
So I googled this and looked this problem up on the thread and didn`t seem to find any answers and thats why I`m opening another one.
So anyways, I was initially running Highonandroid 0.3 and when I saw the new synergyrom, I decided to flash it (I made a backup before this). Flashing the new rom, it couldn`t register my network (Rogers canada) so I decided to revert back to my rom before.
After reverting back, I noticed that lte and texting works but calling and receiving calls no longer work. Every time I tried to call, it would just say call ended and on call logs, I notice it said call cancelled. I would like to try to fix this problem without resorting to reformatting everything because I backed it up to avoid such an issue to begin with.
I`ve checked my config and everything seems to be in place.
Anyone know the solution to fixing this?
Thanks!

That's really weird.. try resetting your APN's to default. Just press menu under APN. If that doesn't do anything, you should try a clean flash.. Wipe System/Data/Cache/Dalvik. I've never heard of this so it's probably a one off problem.

LOL after setting it to default, I lost my rogers APN thing and in fact, the menu changed too . Says System select and CDMA subscription now. So texting and my lte is gone atm.
I have tried wipe system and then restore and wipe everything and restore again and before booting back into the os, I cleared the cache and dalvik as well. This is pretty weird.
I'll restart and see if the APN default thing goes back to normal.
(ok so after rebooting it, i went to the settings and manually pressed by my rogers lte and data and texting works again but call still fails to work :/)

Wiping data or factory resetting in recovery won't wipe your internal SD. You'll only lose app data and have to redownload all your apps.

The sure way to fix it without a lot of trial and error is to reboot the phone into cwm/twrp recovery
Do a factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache. (do not wipe system)
After the phone reboots you will need to re-login to your gmail/google account with your
gmail address and password when it prompts you to do it.
After that just re-do your wifi setup the way you always did before and all should be fine.
Good Luck!

Welp here I am again. My note 3 is weird for some reason. Before I decided to flash a rom, I ran a stock rooted note 3. However, one day my school's wifi connection went haywire and it went down. After a day we discovered that the school just changed the password on the wifi. I figured the wifi password out and it didnt work. All it said was saved and secured. I am 100% sure I put in the right password because for every other student it works right now. And I know it's not the rom because this happened right before I flashed dompop. I tried using the wifi at home and at my tutoring place and they both worked. So is this a problem on their end? I also tried rebooting and forgetting the network. Also I CAN NOT REBOOT THE ROUTER because it's the schools and i might get arrested for climbing onto a desk to take the router off the ceiling LOL. Also I cant access the gateway to see if the bands that aren't working with my phone. I'm really frustrated because my peers are using the wifi and I cant even get on. Help Please

Since you did what I would suggest (forget router, and re-add) the next thing would be what you can't do. Unplug the router, and plug it back in. Maybe something in cache is stopping it. Try forgetting it again, and wipe cache, and then try it again.

Yes. I would wipe through recovery. Cleaning app cache probably wouldn't hurt either. You can either do it manually through the apps setting, or use an app itself like: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.cache.cleaner

Sorry. I'm pretty much out of ideas. The only thing left is flash the ROM over again. Not from scratch (this time), but just dirty flash it right over the current ROM. If that doesn't work, and without being able to reset the router, the only thing left is to format the phone, and start again from scratch, and hope that works.
