Hi All, new here
I keep getting "Data Connectivity Problem - The server failed to communicate.Try again later" error when trying to connect to my home PC through "Internet pass-through". "Internet pass-through" seems to connect fine to the PC, but then fails to connect to the internet through it, even if the Symantec Firewall is totally off.
On the other hand, no such problem when connecting through "Internet pass-through" to my work PC. The phone connects to the PC and Internet with no problem.
I guess the differences are because of a different internet connection type in work and home. Not sure what the connection type at work, but my PC at home uses a VPN dial-up of type "L2TP IPSec VPN".
Is there anything I should configure in this connection to be able to connect to the internet?
Current OS is Android 2.2.1, stock ROM, no tweaks.
Hope to get more information here than in the "General" forum.
[SOLVED] by Microsoft TCP/IP fix
I've downloaded the following TCP/IP fix from Microsoft, installed it on my Windows XP SP3, restarted my PC, connected my DHD, and that's it - "Internet pass-through" is now connecting successfully! with no additional configurations.
Download the fix from here:

Device can't sync/connect to computer.
Hi there I've got artemis, and 2 computers:
-laptop with windows xp home
-computer with vista x64 ultimate
Some time ago my phone stopped syncing with computer with windows vista:
"windows mobile center" shows "no connection"
"active sync" on the phone shows "connecting" all the time - active sync log is empty - shows only last successfull sync.
I'm also unable to access files on the phone (from my computer)
What's strange, that internet sharing (internet from phone to computer) works great.
When connecting phone to laptop then everything works great.
So I've thougt there is problem with vista computer, altough I've connected phone of my brother - also artermis, and it worked! However connecting my phone don't work at all.
So it seems there is some problem with this specific combination currently.
I've tried udpating "windows mobile center" but no luck either.
any ideas how to solve this without phone hard reset?

Have you try to reinstalled activesync?
so i have same problem
i try remove active sync and setup
but stay same problem
Reinstalling activesync fixed the problem I had, but it was a little different than this one.
finally sorted the problem it was my firewall software...
deleted it and now can connect via activesync
I'm using the latest stable release of CM7, and I'm trying to tether my HTC Wildfire to my Ubuntu 10.04 without any success
I just connected my phone to linux and confirmed connection through adb. I'm developing an android app so I tried pushing a Hello World app through Eclipse, which promptly worked.
So, I enabled USB tethering and changed WiCD's Wired Interface to usb0. The device was detected, but when I try to connect it gets stuck on "Obtaining Ip Address". I tried setting the Static IP to 192.168.1.101 (Gateway 192.168.1.1), which does connect me to the phone but without access to internet.
I tried setting my DNS1 to the phone's rmnet0 ip address, but still no internet.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Hi, I've recently purchased an Arc s, excellant phone, but can't seem to connect to my pc (using pc companion) via my wifi router.
The phone is not modded in any way, it connects to the router and the internet perfectly fine, just can't get pc companion to connect.
It connects fine via usb, when I'm following the instructions, i can get my pc to show up on the phone as a trusted device, but then it gets stuck in a connecting loop, the phone shows as connection, and on pc companion it says it will go to the last step automatically.
I have had the occasional connection problem to the internet via wifi, but think I've solved them now. The connection to the pc has never worked.
Any pointers would be great, as my partner also has a Neo, but I thought it best to get mine working first
Also pc is running windows 7 home premium x64, Router is a Netgear WNR2000v2 and is connected to my pc via ethernet cable
Many thanks
P.s I've also had trouble setting up a ftp network. Dont know of they could point to some thing. I've followed guides but to no avail.

I can successfully pair my phone with the laptop and transfer files. When I try to connect to the phone using Bluetooth and Kies I get ...
"Device denied connection" and my successfull Bluetooth connection is removed from the Laptop and is no longer listed in Bluetooth devices.
