I've been searching the net for awhile bout changing lockscreens for my phone. and I can't really find a mod to change the lockscreen. I'm running cm7 and it has like 3 diff lockscreens, which is cool. but I was wondering is there anything I can do to change it to something different? I just figure maybe I'm missing something.

It changes the way you can unlock your phone, etc? cause thats what I'm looking for. and does it eat battery? from your experience. cause i see ppl complaining about that.

There are only so many ways one can unlock their phone, Widget Locker does, however, allow you to modify the look of your lockscreen and does allow you to make adjustments to unlock style.
I'm not really sure what you're asking so I can't give you a definitive answer.

I would highly recommend WidgetLocker. From my experience, it's totally light on resources and there are so many custom lock sliders out there to choose from. Plus WL has tons of customizations within the app itself. Check it out... but that's just my opinion...
+1 for recommending widgetlocker. As regards battery consumption, doesn't everything gobble up power like there's no tomorrow?
So yes it does lol. But alright i'ma get it.

The dual locks would be awesome.
Pretty sure I would **** bricks if we had a lockscreen like that. I use sms popup, but this would be awesome.

I had it on my hero, it was pretty slick.
Widget Locker does this.

If we're talking about the lockscreen then, like alfiej said, widget locker can fill it up with sliders and widgets. I do have a question about that link tho. Does the gingerbread lockscreen actually have multiple sliders and/or can it be customized like that on stock? Or is the multiple sliders a change made in CM6.1?

I really don't like running apps in my background (especially lockscreens).
1. They dont work all the time.
2. They take up too much memory.
I used widget locker and my phone died much faster than without it. I had my phone unplugged yesterday for 15 hours before it got down to 80%. With it, it was down at like 60%. Sorry dude.
No need to apologize dude, I just was naming what does this. I bought widget locker a few weeks ago and got a refund within an hour so I feel your pain.

What's dope about this one is above the sliders you can draw gestures and it will automatically launch those apps
I actually really like our stock lock screen because it basically has these same features. I'd probably go for this one if it was available to us because I like the vanilla layout better.

it was in CM 6.1 for my old hero.
Had this phone for Two days now and LOVE it. Way better then evo 3d I had. Only issue I have is I struggle to unlock it every time. Maybe the size maybe the touchwiz screen. Either way it makes me crazy. Anyone make a suggestion of a different lock screen that is stable and won't mess up the excellent battery life.
Btw I have no interest in rooting but don't mind buying an app if needed. Also I have no issue with other parts of touchwiz just the lock screen.
I use widget locker. You can set that up any way you'd like. I have the stock aosp lock screen. Does wonders.

Widget locker allows you to customize the lockscreen with a ot of different options. So the AOSP lockscreen is when you slide the icon across to unlock you phone. It is Androids stock lock screen that ships with Android if Samsung or HTC wouldn't add their own.
Agile lock is pretty good too. It gives you a lockscreen similar to sense 3.0

I replaced my stock lock screen with widget locker and haven't experienced any problems (including battery life). It could be that people using widget locker are placing battery intensive widgets on their lockscreen.
Yeah I haven't had any problems with battery life or any slow downs either. This phone handles the battery and speed well. You can set it up however you like, the possibilities are endless. You can even download themes. I just like it so much because I don't have to use the original lock screen for our phone.

Thanks again! I downloaded and have been playing with widget locker and love it so far. Only question I have is ... Is there some way to get rid of the icon in the notification bar that shows widget locker ongoing. I keep thinking there is something I have not checked and it kinda bothers me. Tried to find a setting to get rid if it but no luck. Thanks again

There are a couple things that I want to do but I can't seem to figure out, and I've searched the 1200+ pages in the Shooter ROM thread, and there's nothing about a how-to guide. Is there even something like this written for ROMs normally, or are we just kind of left to our own devices, as it were?
Thanks.

I don't have 10 posts yet. Most of the time, I get completely lost trying to find my own answers on here, and I usually end up giving up at some point.
I don't really need a how-to on ROMs in general, but every ROM, and every UI is different. Like, how do I change the icons on my lock screen on my Shooter 5.5 build ROM? Questions like that, how do I do this or that, not really a question of how do I install it, how do I wipe my cache, that I usually just follow the instructions for the ROM, but after the ROM is installed. Some ROMs have more settings/tweaks/features, and some have less.
Do you know what I mean?
Some of the themes might do it for you..

I need help with:
How do I change the 4 icons on the HTC lock screen?
Can I change where it says "Team-Nocturnal" at the top of my screen to something else?
Can I change the stupid ring unlock to a left-to-right slide, while keeping the animated sense htc weather background?
That's about it, thanks again if you know how to change any of this stuff.

4 icons- Click personalize, then choose the lockscreen you currently have, it should say apply and settings under it. Click settings and ir should have the 4 little icons and you can click one and re assign it with a different app.
Change lockscreen ring- go to settings>tweaks>miscellaneous and then find lockscreen style. It should have the one you're looking for.
As for the team nocturnal thing,, can't help ya there. Im sure MBQ can tho

Thanks, although it's annoying to have to reboot to change my lockscreen style. And it appears that the lockscreen style is tied to the weather animation as the "HTC Sense" style. I really like how fast the "android" one is with it's side slider, but there's no weather animation. These things are never 100% what I want, and it's really annoying.
Whenever I click personalize, it just goes back to the home screen. I've read that this is a ROM issue, but I've done 3 roms so far, warmtwopointtwo, shooter, and cm7, and all 3 of them have this behavior, is there an app I can get, or is there some tweak I need to do to get that to work?
Hi all,
I was playing about with another random non-brand tablet when I went to unlock the device (just slide lock enabled). The lock circle include a range of apps (possible favourites) with the actually unlock icon as one of them. There was nothing fancy about it all, no graphical changes or folders. Just apps.
Does such an application exist. I know there are loads around that do fancy stuff that go into contacts, folders etc, etc but this simply had apps on the lock circle and that's what I'm after.
Cheers,
vgjfelix
You get that kinda feature in most custom roms

Hi I don't know if it was asked before but I would really like to see a Blinkfeed Widget. I used the "Blinkfeed App" Mod a bit and thought it would be great if I could put Blinkfeed at a Page and look it up from there. I don't know how possible this is so please don't hate me... I'm no developer. It's just an idea I thought may be good

Hate to stomp on your idea but it's not gonna happen unless HTC makes it.
They haven't even figured out how to disable it, so making it a standalone widget would be much more difficult

With "they" he refers to the rom developers/chefs.
And indeed they Blinkfeed cannot be removed (YET)
Some devlopers are actually trying to remove it (I heard team venom had it partially removed)
Though none have been completely succesfull yet..
For now all we can do is wait.
There is however a way not to use the blinkfeed as your homescreen in every sense rom.. just pinch out and select any other screen you want as a homescreen, then pull it to the "" set as homescreen" text and release
This effectively makes the other scren your sense homescreen and makes your blinkfeed seem like a widget..
There is already a blinkfeed widget, it's stuck on the left page though.
