Ok i had a rooted phone,
and installed rom manager it was also flashed to cricket wirelss also.
anyways i decided to try and install the cm7
So i did and before that i made a back up via rom manager app
And so i updated and it installed
and now when i turn on phone
It stays at the cyanogen mod 7 with icon blue icon screen
and circle thing
How do i boot into recovery menu????
I had the latest recovery menu also,
I NEED HELp i just want to restore my backup from before.
First off you should power it off completely, then hold the power button and volume down at the same time. Next, you need to navigate the bootloader and go down(with volume down key) and select recovery with the power key. That should take you to recovery. I hope you made a nandroid before you flash another rom; if you did just restore your nandroid and you should be good to go.

this will completely restore his phone to stock. ie; what ever rom he was using before, so be aware he is goint to lose everything.
yank the battery, put it back in
reboot into recovery
(hold Vol. Down and then hit the power button for like 2 seconds, once in the white screen with menu [fastboot] use vol. down to highlight recovery and hit power button) (if the fastboot menu asks if you want to flash the PC36Img file tell it NO. and it will take you back to the regular fastboot menu.)
do a full wipe
restore a nand backup or just reflash the rom he was using.
trying it now
it says no image

Hi guys i got a little problem here everytime i want to flash a new rom i just can't get into the recovery screen i do all the steps right i press the vol down and power button it goes to bootloader after that i press recovery it goes to fastbooter instead going to the recovery dark screen with the blue labels i need some help thanks guys
Sounds like you lost your recovery. Did you update to 3.70?
had the same problem
I use rom manager and ran in to the same issue, through rom manager select alternate recovery and install RA. work fine. Then if you like reflash clockwork and it should work.
I rooted a long time ago and about a month ago moved to Virtuous. Today I decided to move to CyanogenMod and try out some of the nightlies. First, though, I wanted to do a nandroid backup. When I tried to do this through clockworkmod, I got sent to the fastboot page (that might be the wrong name, but i'm talking about the one with the skateboarding android robots and the options of bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader, or power down). I tried to get to recovery by rebooting to recovery through the option in clockwork mod and through my power on/off settings but havent been able to. Is there some other way to get to recovery or make a backup?
Edit: When I try to get to recovery through fastboot-->bootloader-->recovery, it just reboots to fastboot
Edit 2: RESOLVED. I flashed the clockworkmod recovery from Rom Manager and now it works fine.

Go back into fastboot, choose bootloader, then you will see an option for recovery. Highlight it and hit the power button. Should bring you into recovery.
sorry, i forgot to mention that when i do that it just turns off and brings me back to where i started. thanks, though.
Why does my phone not have a recovery or download option in the power menu? I recently unbricked my phone and i used a stock rom root injected so im on 4.0.4 and I want to flash this camera mod but i dont have a recovery option in the power menu to do it. So i used toolkit to boot into recovery and flash it but it just bricked my phone again. Does my phone not have a real root? Or is it the camera mod?
You're describing a feature normally associated with custom ROMs that's not present in stock.
If you have an alternate recovery (e.g. CWM) installed and want to enter it from a stock ROM, you'll need to use the three finger salute (reboot phone and hold Vol Up + Home + Power at power cycle) to enter recovery.
Download Quick Boot from the Play Store. It has the option to boot into recovery. Also if you have Rom Manager installed it also has the option to reboot into recovery.
Which version of cwm are you using? Have you tty to flash one of the ROM you can find in the development section?

it wasn't marked as closed in the Repo so I (albeit in hindsight rather naively) assumed it was still in dev. well i flashed it on 4.4 krt16o and now i'm stuck on the bootanimation, what do i do now without doing a full restore?
1. Power down by holding in the power button till the N7 shuts down.
2. Boot into your custom recovery by holding down both the power button and up volume button till you see your recovery flash screen.
3. Then either flash your nandroid back up you hopefully made before flashing the v4.3 advance power control or if you didn't make a backup dirty flash your KitKat ROM zip.
This should get you backup and running.
