[Q] notification light - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Did a search in the DHD Q&A forum couldn't find anything.
I was just wondering if the notification light on the right side of the speaker grill is supposed to work?
Because all my notification light seems to only blink on the left side (under the speaker grill), and not the right side (the visible notification light).
Sorry, stupid question just wanted to know if it was setting thing or something I have to adjust on ROM.
Thanks for the help.

That's the light and proximity sensor on the right. The notification light is on the left under the grill.

Hi,
This a rare but known issue with the proximty sensor. Try searching for proximty sensor you'll find some entries read through them maybe there's already a fix.
I don't know if it'll work but you can try to recalibrate the sensor. Here's the link. "How to" is included.
Maybe it helps.

Little red light

Does anyone know what is the little red light that comes on occassional on the upper left part of the phone casing?
Just to be clear, its not the phone charging light, it is on the left hand side.

If you call someone, you will see a red glow from the top left, this is where the proximity and ambient light sensor are housed.
Enable Face Unlock, then try to unlock your phone in complete darkness, you will see that little red light comes on to the left of HTC logo.
NotifierPro can cause it to remain on.
All of a sudden my proximity led is on consistently.
Any ideas why? I don't have any apps or processes open that would cause it.. at least I think I don't.

It shouldn’t be ON all the time. There must be some background app causing it, if not try restarting the phone.
Hard reset, that should clear it up

Mines on constantly now too. Resetting didn't help.
Running Android 4.1 JB & faux kernel.

[Q] Where is the One X's ambient light sensor?

Anyone know?
Left of the HTC logo above the screen. It is also where the proximity sensor is.
If you call someone, take a look at the front of your phone. You will see a steady red glow from the top left of your screen, this is where the proximity and ambient light sensor are housed.
It helps if you angle the phone, you can see that there is almost like a rectangle hole in the paint behind the glass

If you want to easily see it, enable Face Unlock, then try to unlock your phone in complete darkness, you will see that little red light comes on to the left of HTC logo.
That light seems to be permanently on after I had a viber call. Any ways to turn it off
Edit.: the cause was NotifierPro. Fixed it.

"settings --> display and gestures --> sleep" and there you can set the time for turning off the display

Dear Sir!
Do you mean the sensor activated during a phone call? My HTC one X last time has an abnormal behavior when I place a phone call. Normally when you move the phone away of hear it should turn on the screen back light so you are able to hang up the phone call. But my phone still be black after moving away from the hear so I need to push power button to activate the screen back-light and than hang up the phone call. Could somebody help me out on this issue? Any kind of help shall be much appreciated.
Best regards
Fredi

top led notification lights? Do these work?

the two next to the camera up top? Just bought this phone used, are they supposed to light up when you get notifications like my LG revolution did or is it just the pulsing light at the bottom as the alert?
thanks.

The top two things you see are light sensors. When you cover they turn off the screen to prevent you cheeks from hitting buttons while in a call.
Just the pulse light lights up

The led is on the bottom. You can use an app like Lightflow to color code your notifications.

Led notification or aod?

HI there, anybody knows if the phone have led notification or aod? I see at technical specs that it supposed that it has led but can someone confirm? I guess aod only work on amoled.!
Hi. AOD is not possible as it is an LCD screen. But one of the best I've read. At the top together with the second speaker there is a small status led. So there is some kind of notification. Just can't say how good and visible that will be.
Sent from my OnePlus8Pro using XDA Labs
The tiny notification White LED is quite visible when the screen is off, you'll notice it but not very clear at the extreme angle.
