So I'm having issues with VoiceSearch giving me FC's whenever I try to send a text with Google Voice or an email with Gmail.
It didn't do this running the last version of Gapps that I flashed with the first nightly of CM but now since installing the versions that were bundled with RC2 I'm getting FC's.
I saw one other user had this issue as well.
I tried removing VoiceSearch and re downloading it from the market, no dice. Tried re-flashing the new Gapps over what I have, didn't help. Tried re-flashing and then removing and re-installing VoiceSearch from market, didn't do it either. I'm about to flash back and I'm wondering if that will work.
I want to just flash the versions back to the last version and then try and rip out some of the APKs from the newest update and flash them. I also may try to do a total wipe with the next release, but I was kind of hoping to hold off on that until the CM6 final is out.
just flash an older version of gapps.
If you are having this problem with the 8/14 build that cyanogen posted with RC2, you may want to check the 8/17 build that is available now. I haven't used it yet, but it might have some sort of fix.
I think I've been using the 8/17 build. I'll take a look first though and make sure.
FYI... I just wiped clean, updated to the latest nightly and flashed the 8/17 and all seems well.
Thanks for the tip.

Just out of curiosity, when you removed the Voice Search apk, did you also delete its folder in /data/data/, and do "pm uninstall com.google.android.voicesearch" from adb shell/ConnectBot/Terminal Emulator?
No. Didn't think to do that.I'm still pretty new to Android.

So quick question, tried the new cm today, with google apps, and everytime I open the market, it force closes. I had originally flashed the new market on myns rls 4 and don't care which market I have, any ideas how to fix?

Which Gapps did you flash, and did you wipe data+cache before flashing to CM?
Yep and most recent that downloads with cm 611

I am having the same issue- each I just did a complete factory wipe of everything, flashed CM 6.1.1, then flashed the new 2.2.6 marketplace zip but it keeps force closing??
Well, nobody seems to have been able to reliably get the new Market on CM6. I managed to get it once, but completely forgot what files I used. I just remember that to get from 1.82 to a slightly higher version (1.86?) the ZIP included an updated lib file, which none of the new Market ZIPs have.
Hello xda, I'm running the latest version of JB 1.7.1 jandycane it works great overall but I'm facing a problem with chrome, as soon as I download it from the play store open it , it crashes. Any fix?

There it's a work around in the ROM thread.

In the interests of helping track down the problem... I have been a user of this rom since it was first out and only one thing wasn't working for me (and an issue we saw in ICS for a while as well) - after sleeping for a while, it wouldn't reconnect to my wifi automatically, I had to turn the wireless off and back on. So I was wondering why people were having issues with Chrome or other apps.
Yesterday, with the official release of 1.7.1 (not the one earlier), I wiped my kindle clear - wiped everything but the SD card - factory, both caches, system, you name it. Installed 1.7.1 from TWRP, GAPS (0726), cleared both caches again, and rebooted. Chrome would not work for me. This was the first time in AGES that I had cleared system/factory reset, until then I had always just done a dirty install, cleared caches and things just worked - all the way back to the ICS days.
Today, I cleared everything again, system, factory reset, both caches. Installed jb-kfire-hashcode-07-13 and gaps, cleared caches, and rebooted. Went through the whole initial install stuff in this rom, downloaded chrome from the play and checked that it was working - it was. Then dirty-flashed 1.7.1 (I don't think I even did gaps now that I think of it), cleared caches and rebooted. Chrome is still working.
So... either dirty flashing isn't getting me the new rom (though I have quicknav tablet statusbar v2 working) or something different happens in the hashcode install than happens in the 1.7.1 bare install. Something worth looking into.
In any case, I'm up and running again, just have to re-install all my apps. Until told otherwise or I run into a problem, it's dirty-flashing only in my future.
Keep up the great work! Love this ROM!

You can also try this:
1) Uninstall Chrome
2) Find a older release of jandycane, such as 1.6.0 from goo.I'm and download it.
3) Clear cache and dalvik cache and flash.
4) Reboot into system.. you should bbe running 1.6.0 or another older version that you picked..
5) Go to the market and reinstall Chrome
6) Once Chrome is installed, set it up (enter your Google info)
7) Exit and return to goo.I'm and flash the latest version of jandycane
8) Once you are back in the lastest version, Chrome should work.
WARNING: Uninstalling Chrome will result in you having to do this again, but hey, your choice.

Jandycane Chrome
Any chance with Jandy 1.7.2 the Chrome issue is resolved? Many older versions of Jandycane are no longer hosted (including the quoted 1.6).

Nope.
Anyone got a hosted copy of previous versions, since the OP at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766829 is showing them all down?
I have 1.6.0 on my computer in the Downloads folder, I can upload it if you like.
Edit: All the files have been uploaded on goo.im

Chrome M18.1 Not Working
Last week I received a new version of Chrome M18.1 and now when I try to launch using Jandycane 1.7.2 it disappears, but is still running. I have tried uninstalling/re-installing with the same results. I tried flashing the ROM again, nothing.
Am I the only one having this issue?
Cheers!

I fixed my original post, I'm running Jandycane 1.72, NOT 1.71.
Location Service
Might the issue be with the Location Service?
I noticed other apps that try to use it can't detect it and that was one of chromes feature updates.

Hi,
I was trying to update to the nightly version of CyanogenMod, so I went to the update part in the settings and selected the latest nightly. I want to update for the Google Voice integration with any app. Upon downloading and restarting the phone to apply the update, it was at the screen with this (bit.ly/1a9E9NF) and 'Samsung Galaxy S III' written on the top but wouldn't move past that. I was able to boot into recovery mode and I installed CM-10.1.2 (Stable) on a microSD and applied that update so I was able to take control of the phone again, however; I was not able to get the nightlies. Can anyone help with that?
On a different note, when I updated back to CM-10.1.2 (Stable) the Google Play store would not work and many Google Apps would crash, I fixed this by going back into recovery mode and re installing GApps, is that related at all?
Right now, I have everything exactly as I had it before trying to go to nightlies, my issue is how do I update to nightlies now? Did I do something incorrect?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S III AT&T - I747. This is where I downloaded the update to my microSD card: bit.ly/14KMExv
Thank You,

How do you personally flash ROMS? Flashing them wrong can cause issues. Do you wipe everything first and then flash the software? Your supposed to wipe in recovery data, cache, and dalvik cache in that order or at least that's what I do each time. It always works for me.

Well, I am only updating my ROM, not flashing a new one. So wiping my phone would be unnecessary and inconvenient. I've updated before but only to stable versions, this is the first time I've tried a nightly.

Nightlies are a totally different breed. Whenever I flash ROM. I wipe everything. Since the latest nightly is a different android version from the previous android version. I am highly recommending flashing clean not dirty. The GAPPs are different also. It might be inconvenient but flashing clean eliminates many issues.

Thanks for the response! I really don't want to do a factory reset so I guess I'll go to my second option. The only reason I really want the nightly is for the Google Voice to Stock SMS integration which was available in the July Nightlies, is there an archive to those nightlies. I've tried looking but have had no luck.
Thank You,

Here's a link to MSgtSimon's CyanogenMod d2att archive. I believe 0813 was the last 10.1 nightly (I had been running it for over a week without any major hiccups). You could also try 10.1.3-RC2 (I'm not sure how stable this is since I haven't used it) if you wanted the ROM to have the most recent patches.

I'm running the latest nightly (0908) without any problems. I believe there was a problem with the online builder before. You can see that the nightlies for 0906 and 0907 (the two that didn't work) were only 184mb in size compared to the rest of the 10.2 ROMs that are 193mb in size.
Hey, everyone. I've recently come across an issue with Google Play. I'm running CyanFox 2.0.1 which is Android 4.4.2. I don't believe this is a ROM issue. I haven't bothered to wipe and reflash yet. I came across this issue about a week of running CyanFox 2.0.1, so it didn't pop up right away. Anyways, the issue is that I can not update any apps. When I open the Play Store and go to my apps, it tells me there aren't any updates. I know this is wrong because if I open up Aptoide, it tells me there are updates for my apps. However, if I try to update via Aptoide, I get an error that says the App Package name already exists and it can't install. Not sure what is going on, but I'm hoping there is an easy fix without having to wipe and reflash everything.
Thanks

You could try to remove your google account and then re-add it. I've been running this rom w/o issue for almost 3 weeks (unofficial and now official) of course I started by using the wipe for new rom option in Philz recovery (under factory reset)
As always, a clean flash is always recommended (the XDA mantra) :highfive:
You could also try clearing Party Store data and cache in the app manager first.

Thanks for the suggestion! I did clean flash when I originally flashed the ROM, I just didn't want to wipe everything and reflash just to get the apps to update. I tried removing and re-adding the account without any luck. I think I'll just wait for the next CyanFox build before I wipe anything. Thanks for the suggestion, though

I was looking around their Google + page and found a post that said they're trying to get builds out at least once a month. I know they just upgraded their servers, so build times are much shorter now. But yeah, I don't think they really have a release schedule. They're doing a good job, though. Looks like their user base is growing quite rapidly
yeah they're doing really great. I can't wait to see whats next.
